  1. "Maybe I tried to grow up too quickly," Harrison reflected, believing to the end that it had always been within his own gift to conquer football. "I should have stayed put at Oldham and worked harder on my game and my fitness. Then maybe it might just have worked out." The words of Wayne Harrison appear to fit so many players ....... 2% of players signing pro make it to 21!!!!!

Lanzoni has managed to make it to 25 already. I applaud his longevity.

  2. Best goal: Montano at Stevenage was memorable

Best Team Performance: The 7 minutes at Forest - the rest of it was pretty poor!

    Best Win: Bury away

Best Moment: Smith's goal at Bury - the moment I started to believe we'd stay up.

    Best signing: Korey Smith

Most improved player: Kirk Millar's rapid improvement to win a new deal was impressive

    Worst Signing: Ellis Plummer

Worst refereeing performance: None stick in the mind

Worst refereeing moment: None stick in the mind

Worst team performance: Still trying to erase the memory of Colchester

    Most irritating manager: Paul Dickov

Biggest shock: None - I've come to expect the unexpected

All round top Latic: Tony Philliskirk

  3. Firstly, what idiot can't even chop the start of a video clip off but Christ Gordon, JCH is in front of you!

Secondly, he comes across as think as pig :censored:, which he probably is, but I really think he has some proper passion not just for football but for Oldham.

I look forward to watching him develop.

    Cheers for that Mr Hawking.

  4. We scored 4 but only 1 from open play.......Philliskirk and JCH are more than capable of creating scoring opportunities for themselves, however Rooney is not, he's had more than enough time to improve but I think he is pretty poor to be honest. He is slow, cumbersome, poor in the air and most of the time his first touch is bloody woeful.

He must be on a fair wedge here, and is probably our best paid player. I would try to get shut in January and use the money to strengthen the squad, however clubs will not exactly be queuing up for his services and I fear he will be here for the duration of his contract.

If we had brought in Leon Clarke instead of Rooney I think we could well have been up around the playoffs by now!

Not sure who's worse. Me for writing it or you for quoting it!

  5. so out of 11 players who played god awful today, you have chosen a young lad breaking into the game and didn't play well but wasn't our worst player by a long stretch... tarky, smith, rooney, Plummer were all worse - even tarky admitted to being :censored: today

Why choose to name just those out of the 11? Bit harsh.

  6. at the time we were handing out two year deals I thought great a new approach, now I'm thinking how do we get some of these off the books.

from the final whistle at an field i,ll be wondering what's left of the season for us. having said that I,ll be at port ale on the 18th of jan come what may, supporting oldham is like a bird who cheats on you every week but you keep having her back

"Port Ale" sort of sums up where I'll be then too.

  7.

It's a squad game, you would expect another 5 from a big playing staff could step in and do an adequate job, which is clearly not the case at present.

Do we have the resources to allow the manager to do that? Is it poor squad building or is it just the way it is and we have to accept it and hope we can pick up the odd point until we get them back?
