  1. Could we adapt a formation similar to Belguim? We could have Byrne and Baxter playing behing a large goalscoring centreforward. Two big lads in midfield, two fast wingbacks and three centrebacks.

                               Goalkeeper

    Dummigan Edmundson Clarke Hamer Hunt

                            Gardner      Coke

                         Baxter                  Byrne

                      anyone who scores goals

i think i'll send this to Frank asap. There's no way he's thought about it.

If I'd said are you happy to give FB a chance, it would have been 100% agreeing. IMHO. Being concerned, does not mean you've started chanting Bunn out in your living room.

PS we need a better nickname than Bunny...

Did anyone see that excellent mini series about Jeremy Thorpe....We really do need a different nickname.

  3. Welcome back Frankie. Really nice guy.

I can't think of many better centeforwards over the last 40 years (Sharp being one, but he was a bit of a shit), despite the crap being posted by some on here. I always remember one goal in front of the Chaddy End, when he was clean through but had to go into a full on challenge with the goalkeeper. He was obviously going to get seriously clattered, but he didn't bottle it. He never did. Always put in a shift. Great signing at the time. Perfect foil for Ritchie. You'd have to know zero about football and the wider contribution someone like Frank was able to make if you're serious about having a pop at him.

Here's hoping he can do another job for us. I think he might need a gobby, aggressive assistant, but  his coaching knowledge and experience means he should be able to give it a real go.

    Good luck Frankie!

  4. Scholes would be worth a punt not because he's one of the greatest English players of recent times, nor because of his affection for the club, but because he comes across as a no nonsesne, no bullshit, straight talking type of individual who actually talks a lot of common sense. He has fire in his belly and he seems to have a lot of knowledge about the game (again, not  based on his world class ability as a player). His status would command respect. He would need a good, experienced assistant (yes, that again), but i can't see him accepting the type of shit we had to put up with from January. I think he would be one step away from ABH if players put in that kind of a shift.

Scholes is a real possibility this time.  He wanted it last time.

Anyhow, I’m not surprised. His management was bewildering toward the end.

I suspect he is a better coach than manager. Too much tinkering. Too many excuses. Too much blame culture. Hopefully he has learned a lot and can do better next time as a leader.

Spot on. He was poor once his honeymoon period was over. I didn't feel the love and i didn't see much of a brain, but i did hear a lot of cry baby bullshit.

Why the delay in sacking him? Can we afford it now? Or has the preferred option now agreed.

I can't for the life of me understand why Wellens is still in the building???? Had I failed to do my job with what he had at his disposal then the very least I would have done is held my hand up and walked knowing full well that I'd had the chance to improve it but failed miserably

Now we have a situation where all the shortcomings of his mismanagement will follow us into League Two and that shouldn't be allowed to happen at any level.

Neither can i. He's been a disaster. After his caretaker honeymoon, his teams were okay, then inconsistent, then poor, then piss poor, then piss poor and spineless. Why anyone thinks he should stay is totally beyond me. I can accept going down, to a limited extent, providing we put up a genuine fight. We didn't. Unable to motivate and not that great tactically, he then resorted to blaming the pitch and the training ground. He actually strikes me as someone who talks a lot, tries to impress with his knowledge, borders on arrogant but is actually very superficial in every way. He's actually a bit thick, arrogant and full of shit.  He reminds me of Steve Eyre, only worse. He might want to stay in order to pay his bills, but wouldn't that just sum up the level of his commitment?  He didn't look like he gave a shit. it didn't seem to hurt. He looked like he really couldn't have given a toss. i really don't like him. He's been a disaster. He should go -NOW.

. . . and if RW is sacked immediately, who will compile the retained list? AL? We have no assistant manager and TP is suspended!

BP can do it. I'd trust him to do a better job. Just get get that useless dick wellens out - NOW. I'd rather have Walliams than Wallyens. Why is he even still here? Anyone with an ounce of decency would've left straight after the match. I get the impression he couldn't give a toss.

    GO NOW.

Am I the only one who wasn't too bothered when the inevitable happened yesterday?

Well it's taken me 24 hours to even look at anything on-line or even contemplate the shit league we've dropped down to, so from my viewpoint, yes.

0ver 40 years in the top three divisions - back to where it started. What's really angered me, even at my age, is the spineless pile of shit we've had to put up with since January. The last few weeks have been the worst. Gutless. Sheridan saved us for two years by getting the players focused and motivated. This last few months have been a disgrace. Donny at home was an improvement....yes, and that was actually a total pile of steaming crap against a team with nothing to play for. Yesterday was far worse.

Wellens - just piss off and do one! Take most of this cowardly bunch of amateurs with you. You will all go down in our club's history as the some of the biggest failures i've ever had the misfortune of watching. SHITHOUSES - ARGHHHHHH. You got the job because of a little run when caretaker. Apart from that, you've been total disaster who looks like he couldn't give a shit. I have an intense dislike of you at the moment. Please -don't ever come back. No fight. No guts. No courage. No professionalism. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

So, yes, i'm bothered, depressed, very angry and even contemplating switching my life long allegiance. Glasgow Celtic maybe. They win a lot of games and have an appropriate heritage that has always appealed to me (although i hope they don't play Benywho). Talking of green, though...I mean, Forest Green! Seriously. Tree hugging, middle-class veggies in a remote (possibly incestuous) village somewhere in the west country (I think). Sorry Forest people - but this is another step-down in our decline and it hurts.

Life is totally shit at the moment, for many intense, personal reasons. Perspective? Yes. But, actually, this actually makes the manner of our pathetic capitulation even more difficult to take. Just when you want the love of your life to give you a little lift, Wellens' team kicks you in the nether regions with a truly pathetic show. Rochadale were lucky. I've watched it. Charlton treated it as a training session (i really hope they don't the play-offs - bastards), and that was a clear penalty towards the end. But they at least they showed some courage. I'd have fatty Hill any day over the shitbag Wellens.

I might have calmed down by August....

"I had no choice but to release Peter Clarke, says manager Richie Wellens."

LATICS boss Richie Wellens says he is not to blame for the lack of defensive cover that threatens to undermine his side’s battle against relegation. He also cited the poor standard of Oldham’s training facilities as a contributing factor to his side’s injury problems.

Been away for a while. One of the last questions posed was, how often do caretakers managers who do really  well, get the job and then prove to be crap? This seems another example.

So, he had to get rid of Clarke to sign Bryan, but then tried to sign Mills??? Can someone explain?

He couldn't organise a friendly with 11 players? Piss poor.

He blames the training facilities for the injuries. Can he actually prove that? Did it happen in previous seasons? Perhaps his training schedule is to blame. Where's the evidence either way?

His record goes from ok to average to poor to disasterous. It's piss poor and he is as much to blame as anyone (at least in this season).

This will be the third time i've experienced relegation and it doesn't get easier with age. Still, back to where it all started for me...great!

Harry, i think you've missed the point. Spectacular train of thought? No, it's not about his current stupidity, or his foul mouth.  Are you totally oblivious to his previous sectarian sentiments, expressed several times over many years. Or perhaps you agree with them? I doubt you do. He's a sectarian bastard. So i suggest you watch you're saying. I'm not the one with issues. He is a bigot. Are you? I repeat -sectarian abuse, expressed over many years, is unacceptable, Do you agree? I'm not the one with issues. Are you?

Another embarrassing upvote to yourself from yourself ? I am the equaliser !

That said, it's the great Irish question again. Or should i say, the seemingly acceptable face of grotesque sectarianism. I think it's as disgusting as racism, but Burns gets away with it. You can always tell when he goes into his anti-Catholic mode. His Tourettes kicks in. He should be banned from this site, just any racist would be banned.

Such cynicism. It's also on BBC website, guess they've made it up as well?!

Annabel Tiffin announced it on the north west news. Whatever that woman says is true. This has nothing to do with the fact that i'm secretly in love with her. She just wouldn't lie. She's gorgeous  a brilliant journalist who's integrity can never be questioned.

and it was on the Simon Mayo show. Not especially bothered about that.

Only you could have done it. What you did with the side after what Robinson left you with last season is and was nothing short of remarkable.

Thank's so much for saving my club.

It's a joke you've gone and you've been treated so poorly by so many.

From the bottom of my heart though, thanks for saving my club. :scarf001::scarf001:

One of the greatest midfield to pull on the shirt.

Last manager to get us in the play-offs.

The great escape against all the odds after the Kelly-Dunn debacle (how long was Dunce given?)

Then an equally incredible great escape against the odds after the Robinson debacle (how long was he given?).

Had to put up with goodness what behind the scenes during the summer.

    Faced with a court case.

Sacked after a poor start and a handful of games, but with some very promising players brought in. No time to settle. No time to pull it all together.

The way you've been treated is total disgrace. I am utterly disgusted.

Many thanks. I hope you get a massive settlement from Notts County and a fantastic job working with people who appreciate you. You are a class act.
