White pepper in mash. Black for everything else. You know the rules.
It belongs on all eggs, beans, chopped tomatoes and cheese. Double it up with a brew and it’s mega.

Not everything is as rigid as how you make it. For example, Green could play RW with a back 3 behind him if one of the central 3 covers him defensively. So it could float between a 352, 343, 3412 something like that. I agree that asking him to play in a traditional wing back role is not utilising him the best, but you could set up the side to make the most of him. Another reason for the improvement was Dickenson playing centrally and advanced so there was a connection between midfield, strikers and wingbacks.
I'd argue that RWB is the only issue with our squad when it comes to playing a back 3. 4 at the back creates slightly more issues.
But flexibility is key to any system - last night showed how we could move from 4 to 3 because Sutton was the right back who fitted naturally into the centre back role.
Exactly. I don’t know why people are struggling to grasp this. We should be able to play 352 (not 532) against the fodder in this league.
Weve got Freeman (if he’s not dead) when it needs to be more pragmatic.
-
Tbf we have the players for a 352 - as proven last night when switching to it won us the game.
The problem was we didn’t have a manager who knew what to do.

apologies. It was @sjk2008 who was the mild mannered janitor. Amazingly baggy aged hot take.In my defence, I have apologised for this take further up the thread.
I’m not completely sold yet despite him looking good the last few games as we couldn’t have asked for 3 easier fixtures, but I’m definitely open to changing my view.

Easier for all to just give Hobson MotM before every single kick off. The guy is a monster of a centre back.

Heard no booing for Shelton, just encouragement from my position.
I didn’t hear booing either. However the group with the drum were berating him at every opportunity.

I knew criticising Green would come back to haunt me
Just thank me.

Only a 13 min walk from BnQ so no issue.

I’ve read parking is a pain in the arse at the ground and its permit holders in the surrounding areas. I have however found parking via an app called “yourparkingspace” where i’ve paid £2 to park in B&Q which is literally 5 mins walk. I’ve used the app loads for away games, and it’s all good.
There a pub round there?

Heard Green had a blinder. Despite my criticism im all for that. Long may it continue.
We need an away win to really boost confidence.

Don't wish to be antagonistic but he is possibly the most limited player in the squad, one of the great mysteries is how he keeps getting picked in midfield.
I can’t believe you’ve finally said something that I actually agree with.

Get sway too much stick from certain quarters because he doesn't play a glorious 30 yard cross field pass to assist a goal a game. Does what he does very well. Every single team (bar about 5) has a player like that throughout every league. It's needed
Which 5 don’t? The top 5?

There are plenty on here who always need something to moan about. Even more on twatter.
We do. If a striker scores, he's done his job. If a goalkeeper and the defenders keep a clean sheet they've done their job. If a winger gets an assist he's done what he's paid to do. Rating him 4 out of 10 and saying no end product is ridiculously harsh. He was good last night. Did his job and grafted.
He absolutely wasn’t good. Christ we really have reached a point where we’ll accept anything.

if ever a question was voiced openly when it should be thought internally, then this is it.
sweeping statement and not an individual dig here but anybody hating on Green based on last night is a weapons grade bellend.
I don’t hate him, he’s just not very good. But we’ve become accustomed to
accepting rubbish players in recent years and this is another prime example.

Some embarrassing comments on here by a number of people about Green. It's like now DU has gone, people need a source for their frustration. The lad got numerous crosses into the box AND he got an assist, yet there are people talking about him having no end product. Stop embarrassing yourselves
Absolute hyperbole.
He was poor. He shouldn’t be starting for us but he does because he’s quick and we have very few options at RW.
Why do we need a new source of frustration?

Unfortunately not MB, can't make the midweek ones at the moment.
I would genuinely play those three, my reasoning being they are the most dynamic and the most likely to create something from nothing.
Lolz.

Much better today. Still work in the transfer market to be done but good start now that dinosaur has gone.
Hudson - 6: Nothing to do but collect numerous pot shots from distance. His kicking however, is absolutely atrocious.
Sutton - 7: Solid enough (bar a dodgy last 10 mins). Still not a RB but he’s decent as backup there.
Hobson - 8: Excellent again. His pace is much needed.
Hogan - 8: Equally as good, possibly his best showing for us that.
Kitching - 6: Quiet game for him, didn’t seem to get forward as much. Brilliant pass for Nuttall in the first half which he should have shot from instead of cutting it back.
Green - 5: Garbage. Really don’t get the love in for him. Has pace and that’s it, headless chicken springs to mind. He should be a sub/impact player at the very most.
Sheron - 7: Decent game. Still seriously limited as a footballer but would be useful when we play the likes of Chesterfield, Barnet etc. Against dross like Dorking and Oxford, he shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting XI
Gardner - 7: Usual energy on show, needs to cut out the Hollywood balls and slow his play down more for me. Still light years above Shelton though.
Dickenson - 5: Hardly noticed him. Been disappointed with him all season with the exception of Aldershot. Doesn’t look fit enough to me though.
Willoughby - 7: quietly impressed with him. Some neat touches, held the ball up well on a few occasions for a small guy. Needs a run of games though.
Nuttall - 9: best performance in a Latics shirt for me (and that includes Aldershot). Great goal, probably should have had 2. Worked his socks off.
I still think we lack match fitness. Fuck knows what Unsworth was doing in training but we often look knackered after half an hour. Hopefully this will improve in the coming weeks.Final words - I really don’t understand the York praise. Yeah they passed it about neat and tidily, but when you have a CM like ours, all teams will look decent. They could still be there Saturday and they wouldn’t score. Absolutely toilet up top and not a single chance created, just pot shots. Defensively suspect too.

Good start, but we’ll still never do anything til we bring another midfielder in and get Lundstram back. We have one midfielder that can’t pass and another that’s plays the wrong pass most of the time.
-
Stephen Clemence has shot to the top of the bookies favourites.
Surely we won’t go down the assistant route again…?

Can any ITKers reassure me by confirming Lundstram will be starting today?
Not sure I can handle watching SAS in midfield, particularly Shelton.
