  1. Forget Sharpe the manager (although he was handed a poison chalice!) and the "miss" at Goodison Park, he looked a class above in that side, it was obvious he'd been there and done that, great player IMO.

An Excellent player indeed, but nowhere near as good as Alan Young....besides, I cannot forgive the miss at Wembley....EVER

  2. Brisbane 4030.

Have held a season ticket alone since I could afford it in 1977. Gets a bit tight forking out $550 for Latics and $480 for the Lions every year....but hey I bleed the clubs colours !!!

Lived in Oldham, Royton, Chadderton and Fort Lauderdale !!!

  3. Walking away from the 'derby' between Brisbane and Gold Coast in my Tangerine Latics shirt (same colours as Brisbane Roar) and all of a sudden walking in the other direction was another person in a yellow Latics shirt who was supporting Gold Coast. Which begs the question where is there strangest place you've seen another Latics shirt?

I was also at the game, although I wore my Blue and Gold Shirt....also supporting GCU. The only team in Brissie is the Lions. I wear a half Latics, half Lions shirt to every game at the Gabba. When Fitzroy Lions and Brisbane Bears merged, they put a BBFFC logo on the back of the shirt as a mark of respect to the merger. I now have OABBFFC.

I saw a shirt(or maybe scarf) hanging up in restaurant in Florida.

If it was Crazy8's on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, then it was my scarf!!! It has Roger Palmer and Andy Ritchies signatures on it. I used to live in Pompano Beach and that was my haunt.

  4. I would say the teams name is a bit of give away...but hey ho... Always Oldham Town... oh hang on...they might be moving as well

Unless there is a dramatic U-turn and Latics come up with a Groundshare scheme with the Lions at the Gabba, it would make no difference to me !!!

Still, it would be a wiser investment ferrying 7000 Latics fans over to Brisbane every other week and you would still get change out of 20 million !!!

Providing I get a DVD of the game/goals every week, I couldnt care less where they play. WE ARE OLDHAM ATHLETIC FFS.

I am trying to get back for one of the BP Games this coming season and will look forward to visiting NBP in the not too distant future....

  5. He scores 2 against some australian club in a friendly and gets a bit of praise from Mowbray.

Celtic only signed him, purely on the back of one good season at Hibs.

.....Under Mowbray. Strachan made no secret of the fact that he signed players a la Fergie...ie to stop them scoring against Celtic !!!!

He wont get a chance at Celtic in competitive games. Though what will he care. He's on a fair whack at Parkhead.

    Y.N.W.A

And Mowbray's answer to the question on whether he has a future at Celtic, was an emphatic Yes.

I suppose it all comes down to the shoe fitting. It is obvious that Mowbray likes him, so I reckon he will get his chance. There is a difference between being injured and being lazy....Samaras is lazy, which is why he was on the bench for most of the year.

Whatever the outcome, I sincerely hopes that he makes a good fist of his chances....however limited they may be.

It is always good to see ex-Latics do well at other clubs.

  6. I went to the game just to see Killen.

Granted, it was only the Roar....Below half way Championship level at best, but his positioning and running off the ball was outstanding.....and, he actually stayed on his feet the whole game, despite Craig Moore's best efforts.

His two goals capped an excellent display all round.

Edit: Interesting to note that while we slate Chris's chances, COG (will he cut the mustard?) is the popular choice for MOM against the mighty Hyde.................
