  1. This may well all be correct, but it's totally irrelevant.

It doesn't explain why Oldham Athletic are :censored: at home while Port Vale and Bury top the home league table.

I can only presume that Port Vale and Bury don't have an OWTB equivalent. And Port Vale and Bury fans don't use twitter either.

  2. Thanks booked with British Airways Holidays (though actually flying with American Airlines from Manchester) - Novotel Times Square 2 Adults and a 13 year old £1,449 for three nights.

Thanks for info so far any more appreciated.

I've stayed there, it was quality. The hotel bar has a rooftop terrace that overlooks Times Sq (though might be a bit cold to sit out in Feb! Was Sept when I went and it was roasting.)

It's right in the Theatre district. The theatre opposite had Jersey Boys on when I stayed there. And its right next door to Gallaghers, which as I've said earlier on the thread, is well worth a visit if you like eating meat.

  3.

No mention of it just being league games so it must include league cup - fa cup - tinpot cup as well as league.

a trillion you say, hmmmmm could even afford for PlayerShare to pay Gerrards wages with that.

Even if we keep 2 clean sheets in each of those competitions, that's still 24 clean sheets in the league.

If we keep a clean sheet in over half our games, I'd be pretty confident of getting promoted.

  4. Going to New York for my 40th in February, tips and advice needed.

    Thanks in advance

Wrap up warm. Been twice in February. First time there was 25in of snow in one night, and the second time it was miles warmer (but still max temp of 0 degrees!)

Go to Gallaghers for a steak.

Expect to be paying $7-$8 a pint.

If you want to go up some tall buildings to see the views, One World Trade centre is ace for a view of Manhattan from the south of the island, and to see all around NY and NJ. Empire State Building is a great to go up at night, and Rockafeller during the day (you can see Central Park from the Rockafeller centre but not ESB. But if you go up at night you wont be able to see the park).

If you want to go to a show on Broadway, you can get discounted tickets from a booth in Times Sq on the day of the show, but you might be limited as to what is available. Good if you don't have a show in mind you want to see, but if there is something specific then it might be best to book in advance.

But the best advice I could give you would be to just explore for yourself. Its a wonderful city. You can be given loads of recommendations and try to fit things in and then miss out on other things. You'll find loads of things to do, see, places to eat, and drink. And you'll have a top time.

  5.

That's what happened to me. Shouldn't have a 2 tier entrance fee until the software is working. I'm sure Ticketmaster do this for other clubs, so why the delay.

Agreed. And out of the clubs control because I'm sure its a ticketmaster booking fee, but you save £2.50 booking online, not £4.\

The club should also let people know the system isn't up and running yet. That original article on the website said it would be up and running in time for the Wigan cup game. It wasn't, and isn't up and running yet 2 days away from the third home match of the season.

  6. I tried to buy a e-ticket online for my uncle. Didn't have any delivery option or anything so just presumed it would be a printable ticket, like the article on the website said when they announced the new system. So once I'd paid I got a message saying it wasn't an eticket and would need to be picked up from the ticket office. Bit annoying considering I'd paid a booking fee, and I could have just gone to the ticket office and bought a ticket with no booking fee if i had to go and pick it up anyway.

So I emailed Mark Moisley and asked him about it. Said the system should be up an running on Friday. Just had a look for Northampton tickets and surprise surprise it isn't up and running. Not like Latics to be late with something is it?

So my advice would be to not bother with the online ticketing, might as well just ring the club to book a ticket in advance and avoid paying a booking fee to ticketmaster.
