  1. No we're not. I think we're incredibly patient. Home fans (those few that remain) are just utterly pissed off with the total pile of :censored:e served up week after week, year after depressing year. The NI way is working away, but not at home. It's :censored:. Boring as :censored:. He needs to try something different...like attacking.

the build up to both of yesterdays goals was quite quick and sharp passes, when we at home the build up play from the back/ midfield is to slow and predictable.
  2. here is the chance to get your point across.

here is your chance to ask Corney the hard hitting questions

here is your chance to look Corney in the eye and call bull :censored:

here is your chance to tell Corney you want him out of the club in person

yes it will cost but its the chance many have been waiting for...

how many on here are going?

how many are going to moan on here and kid themselves that actually going to the game but not buying a beer in the new stand makes a difference?

how may are moaning its al his fault while not going at all and wondering why we are struggling?

    All bitch...no bottle!

well said, what's the saying put your money where your mouth is , and at least buy a beer.
  3. Was thinking about the relevance of our record of last season - the terrible home form, the stoic away performances, lack of goals etc. Does having a new manager and an almost entire new set of players render them irrelevant, or do they legitimately carry?

It's funny because a lot of the traits we have seen so far look pretty similar to the ones of the previous season. Is it correlation and not causation, or just a case of early days?

so what do you think? I can see a relegation scrap again this season , due to lack of goals.
  4. Is this something you can take up with the club please?

It's £10 for under 16's everywhere in the ground but the Family Section (which is like a morgue and unlikely to get a kid hooked on OAFC).

I'm sure there used to be under 12's pricing and it was free for under 5's.

My kids are 6 & 7 and my season ticket is in the North Stand. They'll usually attend a handful of games a season and I want them to sit where I usually sit for various reasons and £10 is excessive given their attention spans.

Me aside though - aren't a lot of new or lapsed supporters that the club should be trying to attract most likely to try the spanking new stand and won't a lot of them who would like to bring the family be put off by these prices?

It was a pound for kids at Bury the other week. For AWAY fans.

. Agree cost me a score to take my 6&9 yo , the other week in the main stand at Walsall game. Should be a fiver each all over the ground if they are accompanied by a s/t holder.
  5.

I kind of agree. Had we been able to get either Main would probably have been the more reliable, sensible signing.

Holloway could have become a very, very good player and a cashcow though. Or flopped completely. Or spent most of his time injured.

Alas,....... It will be interesting to see who got the better move and has the better season. Main I expect will be in a side pushing for promotion, hollaway could well be in a side that may struggle again.

  6.

Holloway is by far the better player and has more potential. If he can kick on & add regular goals to his game he could play in the Championship.

Main is already all he's ever going to be.

That said, if Holloway does indeed have the rumoured attitude problem Main will probably go on to have a better, albeit very average, career..

just show,s how players divide opinions, as I thought main was the better of the two. I thought main,s work rate was very good, and looked like scoring from day one, and looked only a matter of time till he hit a bit of a hot streak.
  7. Jones formed a good CM partnership at the beginning with Kelly in a 442 formation with Forte on the left and (dare I say it) Winchester on the right. When Forte got injured was the tipping point when Johnson started pillocking around with the formation and going with a midfield diamond, shoving Jones out to the left instead of playing someone else in that left wing spot and maintaining that 442. And as NewBlue said, Sheridan brought in Palmer to form a CM partnership with Kelly.

. Have to agree with all this. He was benched a few times last season also.
  8. Corney wants too much money for what it's actually worth. That's why we have had no serious offers of any kind (koukash doesn't count). He's not going to sell the land we're on either unless he gets some serious serious money as he can just continue to make money on that with the incomplete stand, car park etc. I fear we'll be stuck with him and the incompetent board for the foreseeable future.

koukash could well be one of the interest parties, rugby friends say he's been in dispute with league. And he,s close to walking away from the sport.
  9. No offence BP but Cassidy included I couldn't give a flying :censored: how hard they work if they don't score goals. That is how a striker should be judged.

exactly but main and hollaway were a handful for league 1 defenders with there work rate and both were unlucky not to score more. Cassidy didn't even look like scoring.
  10. Has Cassidy been given a consistent run if games since that injury in order to prove himself? Whether you agree or not a bad injury and 4 managers in a season can effect a players confidence. A confidence that was obviously fragile when we bought him. We all knew that but he hasn't been given the time despite being here a year. Murphy was given the opportunity but had to leave first to get it.

I'm not sure the level you play at decides if you should win physical battles all over the pitch. We had plenty of possession but didn't once put in a decent cross and all the strikers ran the channel and won the ball only up to have to go back 20 yards. You don't often win friendly matches by crickets scores anymore as fitness has improved across the board. Can anyone tell honestly tell me he has done less than the other strikers at the club in the last 3 games. What have they had between them, 3 shots?

Id be having doubts about all them? One major thing about him though and this is a bigger problem from the last 12 months. I'm not even sure if he can finish an actual chance. That's 12 months of :censored: footballs fault and a player who probably from memory hasn't been allowed to start and finish 2/3 games on the bounce.

I'm by no means saying he is better than what's been seen but I don't think he's been given the environment to succeed. This same fault could go the same way for Mckay & Erwin if things don't change.

so he,s still :censored: then like last season.even when main and hollaway wasn't scoring early doors ,at least they looked like scoring.
  11. This one does worry me.

While on the one hand you'd hope he'd steer well clear on the basis he'll be unlikely to last longer than a few months he might think that if he does well in those few months, managing a Championship side he will then be seen as a Championship manager and then get another Championship job. Or a better League One job than us.

If he does poorly nobody will think any less of him as he was on a hiding to nothing.

Also, he'll probably get very good money and so might we....

    Fuuuck......

wasn't shez living in Leeds last time he managed us?
  12.

Think Brown will stay as a squad player. Surely he knows if he leaves, that no L1 team will give him a chance.

As for Mills, I've always rated him. Decent defensively and supports going forward. But there's been 2 or three managers that have brought in their own loan replacements, so something must be wrong there. Although if he left, I could see him getting a chance in L1.

agree mills is better than the one,s who have replaced him in the side, think there must be something behind the scenes.
