  1. Agreed, I was right at the end of the Latics fans on Saturday (in line with the corner flag on the Brian Clough stand side), the gap between us and the Forest fans was probably the same as the gap between the large and small RRE sections and without the staircase drop.

My mistake, i read it here and thought it meant we wouldnt be able to use the small section but on reading it again maybe it means that we can but there would be a few rows off seats closed in between.

  2. Metty & singe

Thank you really does mean a lot that! That's why I like be associated with this club people can say what they like but my dealing with both latics fans and officials has been nothing short of overwhelming and fantastic, really love oafc

I share a season ticket with somebody so if its only 1 per season ticket then one of us will have to queue up (unless somebody we know can not make it and we use their season ticket) if i do have to queue up and can get 2 tickets id be happy to get you one.

  3. Don't the club owe Gazel and Blitz around £6m (i might be way out with the figures) that they have invested in the club? and they have ownership of the land as insurance on it? If they recoup some of this debt through sale of the land then it must benefit the club as our debt will be reduced. Or have it got wrong and the money we owe them is for the running cost of the club and not the purchase of the land?

  4. If it was to come down to just finances in keeping Baxter and Derbyshire till the end of the season then maybe playershare could do an advertising campaign and get fans to miss either the notts county or Scunthorpe away match (or both) and donate the money they would have spent going to playershare. Ill be going to both games but would be happy to miss both games and donate £100 if it meant keeping them both till the end of the season.

  5. So we give him a bit more time, the team starts to gel and Derbyshire goes back to Forest and Baxter gets a move to the championship, then what?

Baxter and Derbyshire are here to kick start their careers and I'll be amazed if they are both still here after January. It's obvious Dickov has good contacts in the game but that's not enough....it's a short term fix and is just papering over the cracks!

That may well happen or Derbyshire stays for 3 months and we could be top half come xmas, they both decide to stay and we could push for the playoffs. Who knows?

While we are playing a lot better than we have done for a while id say keep him here. Until the past 3 games i cant remeber Dickov making a change that had an impact on the game and he does it in all 3 the last games. I cant remember us coming out after half time and playing better than we did in the first half but we have done that in the last 2 games.

Thing are starting to look a little brighter. A new manager might prove to be just what we need but while things are looking ok and any said manager cant bring in any players then i say stick with Dickov, if we are bottom 8 come xmas then i say make the change.

  6. I would have been happy if Dickov left a few weeks back but he as brought in few decent signings and needs to be given a bit of time for the team to gel. We have looked a lot better the past couple games but looking at the table he is the worst manager we have ever had who as stayed with us for at least a season. Thats shocking.

  7. What I really hope from tomorrow is that any forward that starts the match, that then doesn't make an impact within the first 55 minutes, is taken off. Now we have options off the bench, let's use them.

As a starting pair though I'd go Smith & Derbyshire. Smith deserves his run and to get support from someone playing near to him.

Got to agree, Smith as been playing well and Simpson as done nothing in the team recently to warrant a place in my opinion.

  8. I imagine it's 4 months to prove himself after not playing competetive football this season then, if he comes up trumps, he can earn a longer contract. Down to you now son. get out there, do the biz, and show us what you can do.

I think it's a good bit of business rather than go for a long contract which could go tits up if he doesn't cut it.

The only problem is is that if he does come up trumps then a bigger club will snap him up in jan. I think the 4 months might be something his agent as come up with to put him in the shop window.

  9. Its been mentioned on here a few times that the club don't send out emails to fans who haven't renewed their season tickets or that they missed a trick with the trip to anfield by not getting every bodies emails and sending them stuff on fixtures, ticket prices and offers.

Is this something that the trust or some volunteers of here could do as I think it could get some extra fans through the turnstiles. If a few people was to spend a couple of days in the town centre asking people things such as which team they support? If they attend matches? Why don't they attend matches? What would make them want to go to latics? And also get an email address off them then I'm sure somebody could do a weekly news letter that is sent to these people letting them know about what games are coming up, how we are getting on in the league and ticket news.

I know it would take a lot of time and effort but I'm sure it would put a few extra bums on seats and I'd be willing to put in some time and help out.
