Local economy was screwed long before this..........I was Platts time served and mates of mine Ferranti time served..so dont go on one on this subject with me.
Just how many local people (from Oldham) that is do you think work there ?
Get real. If the site becomes available do we ignore it because of "the blow to the local economy" or do we go tits up ?
Screw FC United
I feel the same, screw FC Utd but if they get planning permition before we did i dont think they would allow us to build a ground so close.
-
I hope for your sake Butler doesnt see that comment and know who you are. He's one big son of a B****. I wouldnt fancy a punjabi slap off one of those shovels.
I did hear something interesting yesterday at the golf day about the whole "Paul Scholes was asked to play for us in a pre season friendly" thing.
Well come on, dont keep it to yourself.
-
Would def be big enough but would they allow it within only half mile from where FC Utd are planning on building there new ground?
-
I know Absolute Radio do this a few times and it seems to work so it'd be a good idea that has worked in the past
Sounds good, you could even get people paying straight to playershare through paypal to make it easier. Could even do it for other things throughout the season like a seat on the bench and a visit to the dressing room before the game or signed shirts ect.
-
Apparently offered the chance to play in a pre-season match, but is away on holiday. I wonder if we can use the playershare money to get him some new legs.
You would think there would be some date wecould arrange for him to turn out for us, maybe against a UTD XI, surely it would be an almost full ground and make us some decent money to put into the squad.

A mate just shown me these Fulham t-shirts for sale on there site. Maybe we should get some made up with Corney and Scholes, they would be a must for all latics fans.

I heard an interview with a member of the Stirling board on Talksport, he said the standerd was reall good and ranged from a 16yr old school boy (who they have invited back for free next season)to a 31yr old who played a bit years ago in the scottish league but had not kicked a ball for 4 years, he is one of the players they have kept on. If they can attract 39 players im sure we could get that many, if not even more.
-
What a great idea. Charge £200 for people to take part in trials for the club. They made £6000 and have took 11 of the 39 players on for pre season traning. If they can offer one contract at the end of it it will be a great success. Something we should def have a look at i think.
-
Seeing as Tarky's just signed a two year deal, I can't see it being that much of a problem. (I hope)
Surely the club knows that not paying them on the usual day will be made public and could put potential new signings off signing and even maybe put current players with contracts on the table off signing. You would think they would do anything possible to make sure they was paid on there usual day.

Offically under PFA rules players are paid on the last day of the month. 9thats why contracts are up to June 30th). We as a club have always paid the last friday of the month and say thats when we pay player. If we pay on tuesday, technically the players have not been paid late under PFA regulations so there is nothing that can be done.
I remember Corney saying that in an interview when they was first payed late but even still there must be a problem with the finacies if they are not paid when they are usually paid. If its late or not they are usually paid the last friday of the month and they have not been. It might not be breaking any rules but there is still a problem there.

We sold over 2,000 last season, I was looking at stories from last year on the website and came across this..
Deadline was almost a month later too…
They posted this saying last season total was just over 1800 a few weeks ago. Unless they mean the total before the deadline.

Don't forget to keep using the PlayerShare WebShop for you online shopping, when renewing insurance or booking a holiday, hotel or mobile phone contract. Also good iif you're buying on eBay!
We're over £100 for PlayerShare now which is fantastic. So if it's a DVD from Amazon, using Asda for online groceries or buying a new suit from M&S, use www.buy.at/xtra.
Here's a link to this weekend's special offers - take a look and help grow income for PlayerShare.
(apologies for the unsubtle thread hijack, but needs must!)
If i was to spend say £100 on ebay, how much would playershare get out of it?

Do you think there would be enough interest in a bonus ball card? Could charge £10 a go with the winner getting a season ticket or a free ticket to all games except the cat A games. Could do a couple before the start of the season or if there is enough inerest even more.

Aiming for survival but hopin for playoffs. Cant say he isnt optimistic!
More needs to be done to get kids/teenagers through the gate. Hard work though i guess.
We def need more kids coming through the turnstiles. The question is how do we get them to games? I remember when i was in school and we used to get the occasional game where we would all get free tickets and quiet a few would go but most never went again cos they was already Utd or City fans. We need to get kids aware and intrested in Latics from an early age. My girlfriends brother is 5 and plays for heyside juniors, i think we should have a couple of players visiting clubs like this every month, showing off skills to the kids, a bit of the wow fator and giving out free tickets to games or even a £5 ticket that admits 1 child and 1 adult but giving actual tickets not just vouchers you have to go the club and swap for a ticket. Think it will kids more aware of there local team maybe wanting to go again.

I think they have made a few good changes for next season. The category matches is great idea and will bring us a lot of extra revenue in. Ilike the idea of putting the carpark prices up for away fans but think season ticket holders should be able to pay £3.50 on the day on producing there ST instead of having of buy a carpark season ticket.

A few years ago i thought that the football league would be reduced within a few seasons to just two leagues and league 2 and the conference would be north and south part time leagues but even tho some clubs are struggling i still think there is more money at this level than there as been in the past and the standerd of football is a lot better. Even the conference is almost all full time now and getting stronger and stronger. As opinions4u said some clubs will go bust but there will always be someone to replace them. I think we will see a few more clubs like AFC Wimbledon and FC Utd coming up the leagues. If anything i now think that the conference might join the football league, maybe with the championship becoming a premiership 2.

Where have you heard this mate? We kept him out of the game when they played us at their place and our defending this season is not exactly great haha so i think clubs like Schalke etc can mark him!
I heard on Talksport tonight that he was going to Bayern Munich for a trial.

Personaly amitions for the season: We have had a few random weekend trips. Cheltenham and Scunthorpe being two. Next year we have decided a weekend and night out in chesterfield is as random as it'll get.
we done a night in chesterfield a few years ago for the last game of the season, i can confirm it is a very random place. The hotel room we stayed in had a tree that came in through the wall and went out through the roof.

Does anybody know how they are going? There is only a week left till the end of the discount period and if i remember right last year they announced every time we hit 500 but ive not noticed anything on the official site so would think that we have not hit 500 yet.
-
Currys as a deal on at the minute for a 50" samsung 3D TV which is £650, not a bad deal.Think ill wait till the start of next season tho for mine, they will prob even cheaper.

First time ive seen them since the game, Reid took his a lot better than i thought on the day.

I reckon all Prem FA cup games could be made 1 leg but its not fair to make it 1 leg for a lesser team v a Prem , half the magic of the cup is griding out a draw at your place to get a big replay at the Prem clubs ground
Bollocks to the prem clubs whining about replays. If they dont want a replay cos they have european games then they should field a full strength team in the first match. The F.A cup is the best cup competition in the world, why change it? Im sure i read somewhere that they are talking about seeding the teams in it as well.
As for playing to many games over here compared to other countries, half of most of the others countries squads play over here so why are only our players jaded and not the foreign ones who play over here?
-
Dont think so. I would think the club would have known roughly what they would taken on the gates (say 15k) so with all the £2's paid and the money of the businesses they would have wanted to still hit that figure. I dont think they would have been looking for businesses to make up the full price of everybody.

Think id side with Amos. He as got the potential to be a top class keeper, just needs to sort his kicking out. Grant was good for us but he as found his level now as a decent championship keeper, Amos could go on to be a premiership keeper.

Boundary wise the whole site is in chadderton, i used to live just behind the factory's on the right as you go up greengate and the bottom of my garden was the boundary so even all the factory's on the otherside of the road are chadderton.
