Not posted for 10 years. I think if AL confirms from the start he is going to be heavily involved in signings that's fair enough. But if rumours are true he is going into the dressing room hot headed and arguing with the manager infront of the whole team and then taking it a stage further by sacking him by email we are doomed with him in charge!! As nobody will want to manage or play for the club we all love.

Yeh good point although come 60 minutes and we're drawing/losing and Smith is fooked and we need an impact sub who we bring on? On the other hand if Smith starts he could bag a hat-trick!! ha :-)

Our league is crap.. the current squad of players we have are easily good enough to be a top half team! Cut out the silly errors at the back and i think we will win a lot more games! MOM for me yesterday was tarky. That lad has grown and grown in confidence. The effort and fitness looks loads different since Dickov left! On a positive note for tuesday.. Everton look dodgy as fook on set pieces so lets keep it tight in the first 20 mins then pepper their box with crosses! Personally i would play the same team as he started against Everton then bring Smith on as an impact sub if needed. COME ON YOU BLUES!!!

I dont think I have posted on here since JKLatics but reading some of these posts makes me laugh and nothing has changed...... Firstly the new stadium... I'm not over the moon however... We got to consider we're lucky to still have a team and the backers we have.. I believe in the next five/ten years there will be a lot of clubs(probably equal to us) who will no longer exist due to dwindling attendances and lack of funds. Going forward This failsworth plan is good for the future of Oldham athletic. I know its sad because of the good memories at BP but things move on with the times. If we stayed at BP we would end up without a club. Secondly, How can people say this is a League 2 team!! This team IMO will be better than last years. Granted we probably wont have someone as influential as Lee Hughes. But the midfield is miles better, think the defence could be tweaked slightly(maybe a centre half) and possibly the signing of a proven striker on loan. As for Eardley worth 500k, dont make me laugh!! He cant defend for toffee. I'm looking forward to this season! WE ALL PLAY IN BLUE AND TANGERINE!! KEEP THE FAITH!!

In my opinion Hughes and Taylor wont be going anywhere not till next season anyway. If shez keeps them working and training hard and not taking them out on the p&ss celebrating victories(if this is true) he will keep his job till the end of the season. Lets give it Southend and get the 3 points!!!

Well i was in rocky road end so didnt see gregan that much in the first half. But in the second half he mopped everything up, Hooper and Hayes were getting frustrated cos he was winning everything, aerial and on the ground. Every player gave 110% last night!! Well done lets keep it up!!! I just hope we can dictate games in the first 10 minutes in every game we play whether it be home or away! Teams cannot live with us if we play that way. KEEP THE FAITH.

In my opinion tonight Allesandra put in the best performance by a centre forward in years at BP. He was truely awesome today! From the first minute his control and link up play was first class!! Keep it up fella!! That second goal was premiership standard!! Could have been a different game tonight had they scored that header that hit the bar, but well done we kept at them played at our pace dictated the game from the off and in the end 3-0 flattered them it could and should have been at least 5!!! Thought Gregan played like a true captain tonight aswell!!! Lets back the hard work up with a win on Saturday! KEEP THE FAITH

When i was watching eardley i thought his positional sense was dire and two times he gave the ball away in the first half almost giving away a goal. Still dont think he can defend. And that block he did yes he did well to block it but it was his fault why they got the chance as he headed it straight to him. Not a chance anyone would pay £500k for him, if they do good luck to them and bank the cash asap! He is not a defender IMO more of a wingback/midfielder KEEP THE FAITH

Eardley wont be worth as much as jones in my opinion!

This lad has everything in his locker. Will be very hard to keep hold of him. Other championship clubs will sniffing if he carries on performing like that. Miles better than bertrand!! Better on ball, better crosser, better in air and probably quicker! Also has a presence about him. Shez get the lad signed up. Changes for sat... Gregan for byrne Eardley for Lomax(maybe?) And possibly Allesandra for Davies although i think Davies needs games and is due a goal!! Roll on Saturday!!

He is one of the best defenders in the league without question but if he cut out the silly fouls he would make a miles better player. And what game were you watching.... I have never seen a more blatant red card!!! It was a definate red and i could see it coming before it happened. He wasnt last man there were defenders along side him who would have got back in my opinion. His aerial strength is second to none and his leadership is quality so keep that up greeegs just try and cut out the silly fouls. Twice last season he escaped a red card with just a booking. Anyway lets give Hereford a spanking then gregan can show us what he is made of against the big boys on the 18th. KEEP THE FAITH

I was referring to his amount of bookings(resulting in being suspended). You watch this season how many times he gets booked for silly fouls(like tugging shirts etc). I think the guy is a great player and a great leader, but his stupidiness has cost us as we havent won without him. KEEP THE FAITH

Went Stockport Friday was really impressed first half but second was one to forget!! Thought we missed Hughes big time and had he been playing we would have buried them in the first half. Also missed Gregan big time. We desperately needed a leader and someone to keep defence organised. But i always say it, this will happen a few times a season with gregan. From time to time he has a rush of blood and gets booked too many times or sent off. Anyone with pace against him worries me but over the course of a season will be a great player. Just wish he would cut out the slly tackles especially on the halfway line. Hope we can get the job done Sunday then set up the biggy with Leicester with a fully fit team.(fingers crosed). Speaking of fit/unfit players... Anyone know any news on Hugheys????? KEEP THE FAITH!!

I thought it was 2 points dropped yesterday! Just hope that doesnt prove costly end of the season. Thought we played some really good stuff and we were the only team who was going to win it(10 men or not). Was'nt too sure what happened on their second goal but the linesman had his flag up and ref over-ruled it?? Whats the point in a linesman i ask?? My rating's Crossley 7 Could have done better on one of the goals. Eardley 7 Going forward not bad few poor crosses though and got skinned a couple of times in second half. Hazell 7 Pretty solid didnt do much wrong. Gregan 7 Looked a class above before he decided to wrestle James brown to floor(no need to) and why lunge like that at a player on the halfway line we had players that were covering and would have got back. A very frustrating player to watch at times but over the season will do the business. Lomax 7 Out of position a few times but other than that played well. Allot 6 Worse game for a while, gave the ball away too much and crapped out of a few tackles. Whittaker 8 My man of the match, thought he was full of energy, tracked back great going forward and great cross for the opener. Liddel 7 Didnt cause too many problems, but solid. Taylor 7 Thought he had a quieter game than normal but still managed to score 2 and was inches away from a hat-trick. Hughes 8 Class act needs to stay free of injury for us to keep promotion on track. Makes space for himself and looks like he is going to score every time he gets sight of goal. Alessandra 7 Clever play at times, but seems to lack pace. Davies 7 Unlucky not to score, looked a danger, another 5 or 10 minutes think he would have scored. O Grady 7 Hold up play was exellent unlucky not to score. Byrne 7 Looks a good footballer. Comfortable on ball. Think it was definately 2 points dropped but given the circumstances and hartlepool isnt the easiest place to go was a good point. Players can be proud , even with 10 men we murdered them. Only disapointment in my view was gregan, silly penalty and pointless tackle that he was never going to win. We need to keep this run going and keep Hughes fit :-) SAY WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE.

Dont change a winning team. Granted we were losing before the magical subs come on but i would stick with the 11 that started against millwall and see how they get on! I do think smalley should play some part though! COME ON THE BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KEEP THE FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky as f*ck!??? Come on, we were on top first half easily, apart from dagnall slipping that was there only chance in the first half. Hughes scores the penalty and its game over we would have gone on to win 2/3 nil. But no we miss and we get a player sent off. To defend a game with 10 men for 75 minutes shows character and fitness! Last season we would have folded and lost!! WELL DONE LATICS!!!!

Im not doubting gregans ability, his passing is second to none. I just think his arrogance will prove costly.(obviously im hoping not) Last season he was lucky on a few occasions not to be sent off as he consistantly clipped the ankles of players that had dusted him for pace. I think he is a midfielder not a centre halve. We are definately in for a good season(fingers crossed) with or without gregans mistakes! KEEP THE FAITH!!
