  1. But then again you need to develop your youngsters - Jim Gannon
  2. I heard an interview with Mark Hughes regarding scouting, obviously they look for talent but almost as important is how they are mentally. ARE THEY WINNERS? Or are they going to come to the club just for a ride. We need to take that approach when signing players
  3. He has been locked in a cellar under BP for 25 years and is going to be unleashed to the footballing world
  4. It doesnt mean the budget is poor. TTA have said it is only marginally different than this season. The 4-5 players will be on very good league 1 wages i would have thought, and then there is the loan market. KEEP THE FAITH
  5. Correct. i can imagine the 4-5 will be on good league 1 wages. and as they state the budget is going to be marginally down on this season
  6. I would have Jim Gannon but what is his situation at Stockport? is he under contract? we dont want and cant afford a Leeds/Blackpool/Grayson compensation situation (thats a mouthful)
  7. First half of the season we were a promotion contending side in the division under Sheridan then the dip came, but the dip was nowere near as bad as it is now under Royle, i wanted Sheridan to leave but even if he was still in charge now we definately wouldnt be in a relegation fight. Of the 3 coming down Norwich (it looks like they are) are the best placed to go straight back, as someone put in another thread they have sold 18k season tickets, which will be a godsend for the owners. Southampton (if they are still alive) are in no mans land with the vultures circling for there best talent and Charlton who with the squad they have now will not do much in league 1 with My point is Charlton and Southampton have got big fan bases but i can see them spending a while in this league regardless
  8. Thats exactly right Its discrimination against people WITHOUT a disability
  9. Wolfenden hasnt got the body to be a proffesional sportsman. He should have left this club a long time ago. But because he is still here he should be the first name on the outgoing loan list (thats if he can stay fit for more 48 hours)
  10. That could work both ways for the relegated clubs, they could lose fans being in this god awful league, reduced attendances, the recession and still having to pay championship wages could have an affect on them. If you look at the league table there are plenty of clubs who were relegated from the championship and are in a worse position than us for getting out of this league. There is no way we will be in a relegation battle next season, TTA wont let that happen
  11. It wouldnt really bother me selling a player, in the long run it will be good for the club (budget wise), and we are a selling club anyway. why would Royle be managing us on a shoestring? its a shoetring compared to Ipswich, City and Everton but this is division 3 and Royle knows that. People are reading far to much into the reduced budget, Andy Liddell and Lee Hughes were on very healthy league 1 wages but are not with us anymore and id even say Ferraira isnt coming cheap - more wasted money. And the clearout isnt over. Of the clubs mentioned Millwall is the example we need to follow, good management on not a massive budget - perfect job for Royle. The recession is going to hit every club from the ones coming from the championship to the ones who fail to go up this season.
  12. People are forgetting that nearly EVERY club will be working with a reduced budget next season not just us! So i think we will be comfortably still be in the top 10 budget wise. I dont know why everyone is panicking about the budget i think it will still be one of the best in league 1 (if Royle takes the job) the difference between Royle and Sheridan is that Royle wont go and blow huge wages on like Windass, Hines, Byfield, Ormerod and Kabba And then theres Lee Hughes, Andy Liddell wages we dont have to fork out now. People need to stop panicking, we are in a far better position most clubs in this league. Sign on the dotted line please Joe and get to work on your wheelings and dealings.
  13. I cant get blamed for that at the top of there OS it says 4740 and it says that in the sunday mirror If you scroll down though it is 14740 http://www.htafc.com/page/MatchReport/0,,10312~45207,00.html Not guilty
  14. yesterday was 4740! out of 16k season ticket holders! mid table or not - thats bad
  15. creepy

    Simple Question

If Royle turns the job down then i will be very very worried, Royle is one of the cheapest options compared with Boothroyd etc, if he turns it down who can we afford? Who would come to us if we cant afford to pay him that much and with a reduced budget? I can see us ending up with another Brian Talbot
  16. Beacause the strikers we have got couldnt hit a barn door, actually we havent got any strikers have we?
  17. I would have thought they were gonna use the vacant indoor market (eventually) and tommyfield market as extra parking space for the new medical centre ££££, time will tell though eh
