I've been thinking that for 2 weeks and 70 pages. Between the laughs you understand. I'm not your archetypal frustrated virgin either. -

Harry, I like you (not in a sexual way, I'm not a gay). You talk sense and write in English. If you ever find yourself in the Rifle Range and see a bald bloke at the bar with four eyes, pop over and say hello and if it's towards the beginning of the month I'll buy you a pint. James. -

Hello Diego, I would have sent you a personal message however I'm slightly sozzled and can't work out how to. Anyway I really enjoyed your away trip reports on the ErnieFlag site and your references to northern soul. I'm considerably younger than you and didn't thrown down my chalk at the Twisted Wheel or any such venues. However I have just finished reading a book that I thought you might enjoy. It's called Do I Love You by Paul McDonald and makes many references to northern soul. Cheers, JJT

Really? Do you know him well? Or was this a 'I bumped into Royle and asked him if he'd come back to Latics conversation'? I know for a fact that he was on the short list for the Huddersfield job and would have given it serious thought if offered. And the fact I'm using the word 'fact' makes this a fact that you can't argue with: MEDICAL FACT. If Royle were offered the job he would have a jolly good think about it and Latics have more 'right club' about them than most in Joe's eyes.

As part of my job, I have to 'edit' (actually on the whole write) a blog for a junior minister. He has the opportunity to vet this and has occasionally made minor alterations, but I do sometimes wonder how closely he checks this and what I could get away with were I feeling mischievous. I also used to wonder how much of David Eyres article in the Advertiser was written by Eyres and how much was written by Carl Marsden (or AN Other journalist). I had wondered how much of Windass's blog had been written by him before all this kicked off. A 40 year old journeyman talking about Oldham Athletic and division 3, is unlikely to attract nearly as much attention as that of the 40 year old trying to make it with his hometown club in the Premier League. A bit of sensationalist journalism might just have the effect of stirring it all up a bit and putting Windass's blogs back in the public eye. Might even get it a mention in a national paper and increase the number of hits on the next blog? Doubt anyone on here would fall for that though.

I've seen quite a bit of female football and while it has its knockers, it's not a bad standard. -

Remember the Manor Ground?

I remember that game at Oxford also, but what I'd really like to know is, who the hell is that Dorris with the inordinately large knockers, Footy 68? -

Shocking statistics
Jumping Jimmy Thunder replied to StipeTripe's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
I quite clearly remember that we lost a number of games the year we won promotion to Division 1. In fact, I distinctly remember a 2-0 home defeat against Hull City who were relegated to Division 3 that same season. I remember expecting us to win this game; we didn't, we lost, but we were still allowed to play in a division higher the following season. Quite outrageous really. -
Manchester Congestion Charge Referendum
Jumping Jimmy Thunder replied to dfOAFC's topic in Threads Worth Keeping
Discussing it at work and I've only come across one person voting 'yes'. This out of about 50 people. About 30 'no's' and a number of people who 'can't be arsed' to vote, despite it affecting them directly, one way or the other; cretins. -
Manchester Congestion Charge Referendum
Jumping Jimmy Thunder replied to dfOAFC's topic in Threads Worth Keeping
It has suddenly dawned on me. OAFC0000 is actually a vehement advocate of the 'no' vote and believes (incorrectly) that the congestion charge will actually Kerry Packer his business. However he is all too aware that preaching in a 'holier than thou' manner will not win people over, but will in fact sway people the other way. He therefore had a very cunning plan and preached the exact opposite of what he believes, knowing that ultimately his aims will be achieved. It worked a little on me. I was 55% 'no', 45% 'yes'. Now I'm about 80/20. I think it worked a little on Rummy also. Genius. No wonder you are a successful business man OAFC0000, I doff my hat to you sir. -

whodathowtit? Best read on this board for a long time. I've barely glanced up to watch Liverpool v West Ham. I live in Chad but work in Manchester city centre. I mostly travel by bus, but once a week drive in. When I initially heard of these proposals I was all for them, but having read up on what is actually planned, I am amazed at the lack of foresight and at the financial cost of minimal improvements. I lived in Helsinki for a year in the mid 90s and the public transport system there, then, was better than what is being proposed for Manchester in 2013. I'm also very fearful of allowing the councilors of the various boroughs a mandate to spend this sort of money. I think a lot of them are a bit daft. I'm voting 'no'. Actually I already have. -
Final score 0-1 Cheltenham

Wolfenden looked far better than Alessandra and put himself about far more. Sheridan is already up against, as any employee who falls out with his boss is, but he's putting himself in an even less enviable position with tonight's performance. -

That was quite poor, although we still had more than enough chances to win it. Positives were requested and here's what I took from tonight. Lee Hughes sat in front of me and is balder than me. Get in. -

Bulls Head just by Piccadilly Station if you like a proper pint. Generally full of sorts in short skirts and big busters on a Friday afternoon.
