  1. Dont care what the Players are doing. You dont make a defensive substitution when you are 1-0 down. That idiot is a danger to our football club.

We could easily have lost at the Saint, We coul have lost to Bristol Rovers, Hell, we could have lost to 9-men of Southend. I know we didnt, so everyone is chuffed. But Penney's tactics in all those games almost lost it for us, and yesterday he was an embarassment.

    Get him out. Now.

I was saying this against Leeds in the cup. When we were seemingly happy for a 0-0 draw in a home tie in the first round FA Cup.

It saddens me how many games I've been to this season as it's a pathetic amount but the reasons you've highlighted well in numerous posts is why I havent bothered.

And in response to your other post. No I do not have confidence in Penney being able to improve us in the summer look what :censored:e he's brought in this season.. and next season we will seemingly have a lot less money to play about with. It doesnt bode well for next season especially if we keep Penney.

  2. spent the season on loan at Morecambe from Hudds, had his contract paid up. Big, strong, goalscoring midfielder who did ok in his only season at Hudds, and very well for Accrington 27 years old and given Penney's penchant for Huddersfield's players I wouldn't be too surprised if he ended up here in the summer. Pure speculation of course.

Always rated Craney in the past. Would have him over the majority of our current midfielders.

  3. Isn't Jacobson injured and therefore couldn't play last night? Not sure what was wrong with Paul Black last night, is he injured too?

I'll give you the unknown kid instead of Colbeck however Kirk's performance last night clearly warranted his selection. Plus the game today is sadly lacking players with names like Kirk Millar, proper footballer's name that, should be first name on the sheet every week. Sadly he was wearing red boots, no Kirk Millar would wear red boots in my day, thems were proper players...... and they had steak and chips before the game, none of this pasta rubbish and "taking on fluids".

Lol Black was benched, after playing one game. Jacobson wasnt in the squad so was probably injured.

I wasnt saying that Millars selection was wrong, I'm saying what we already have at the club is better than what he's brought in!!

  4. I wish people would stop spouting nonsense about on principle not paying £4 more than some other clubs when in reality they just don't want to go to the game.

Exactly, I wouldnt go if it was a 10er in for adults.

For once I hope we perform at Hudds as apart from the 3-0 demolition in the Wellens/Porter season, we are usually pretty woeful there.

  5. Penney does not have to go, i am a believer that in summer he will bring in more players and get rid of the crap ones we have now, and then we might push up the table next season, maybe not promotion contenders, but the season after we could very well be.

Bring in more players? He brought in loads in the summer and most of these are the ones that should go as well as the obvious like Whitaker.

What makes you think he'll do any better this summer?

  6. 98/99 was the worst season I can remember and that includes two relegation years....until this season. No goals, no excitement, no high-scoring games, no come-backs, no spectacular goals, no wonder saves, no flowing football, no oooohhhhhhhhh, no :censored: all!

Aye I'm the same, I expected this season to be a struggle. Said it on holiday when my mates were getting the texts through of who we had signed. Awful signings seeing them play they're actually worse and added to the managers tactics it has been a season worse than expected.

98/99 was bad, but I still enjoyed going! I havent been this season since Tranmere away, and worryingly I havent missed it.

  7. Signed crap, no settled team all season due to this bunch of wasters not being good enough. No settled team= no understanding. Add this to Penneys negative boring tactics, and this has led to dross we have had served up this season and fans leaving in their droves.

I fail to see where our next win will come from.

    What an absolutely shocking season.

  8. Swindon and Colchester have both got significantly bigger budgets behind them and bigger attendances, why could we not keep our best palyer of the season after Gregan, Sheehan out of the clutches of Swindon.bristol Rovers have better gates and their fans are not so fickle.

We were similar to Bristol Rovers, now I'd put us on a par with Walsall and Yeovil. And they're above us in the league.

The most baffling signing for me (probably ever) Joe Colbeck. Eaves and Millar (sp?) are getting on the bench ahead of him, surely injured? Why the feck we wasted some money on him in wages is beyond me never mind a fee.

  9. A good three points tonight and that's all that matters. Well done DP, keep grinding out results against the dross and we'll be fine and then rebuild in the summer.

I watched a manager tonight, with his side down to ten men, take off their only centre forward for a defender and take off their best player from the first half (who this week was named Football League Young Player of the Year) for a bloke who was deemed to be pretty gash when he played for us earlier in the season. When they inevitably fell behind he continued to play ten men behind the ball, and then with time running out withdrew the club's top scorer and only deadball threat. There's no way DP's as bad as that.

Don't think he has the ability to rebuild in the summer. He's signed :censored:e. It's now March and he has no idea who his strongest side is. He dropped 3 of his signings tonight, 1 completely. Hardly surprising we have no settled side when the majority of our squad aren't good enough for this league, most of which were signed by Penney.

  10. Just got back, and I get the feeling us mods are in for a busy night.

We got out of jail today. They were probably on par with us to be fair but battled alot harder, and I think they will be the more disappointed not to come away with the three points.

Re their pen, blatant penalty imo - but then again same thing happened when we were attacking a minute later and he didnt give it.

As for the penney out chants? If we have any funds available would much rather spend them on bringing in a striker rather than dismissing the manager, but I think the fans made their feelings very very clear re Penney today, especially in RRE and main stand - and this was at 2-2.

That is why we are where we are in the league. Complete lack of quality when we're on a par with teams like Wycombe and Exeter. But to be outbattled is absolutely disgraceful.

Oh its bad how far we have sunk and how quickly we have.

  11. He might be, he might not be but remind me which shirt he plays in and who he plays for? There are 11 men on the pitch whose job it is to stop him playing, 10 men to help him and however many of us turn out to get behind him. If he was to score the goal that keeps us up would you still say he is :censored:?

Yep he'd still be :censored:. Roy Essandoh scored an important goal for Wycombe, he was still a :censored: player.

You usually sign players to improve your team, and especially for ££s you'd expect them to. Can you honestly say Colbeck has improved the team? In my opinion he hasn't and he shouldnt be anywhere near a League One team.

I agree that booing players is obviously bad and a hindrance, but when they're blatantly out of their depth what can you expect.

  12. The First hour was absolutely shocking, we were stuck with nine men in our own half no tempo and aimless hoofing. We paid Exeter far too much respect and because of this they got it down and played some good stuff, thankfully they're :censored:e in the final third and we got away with the countless crosses and the times they got in behind on the flanks. We had FOUR changes of formation today and Penney cut a forlorn figure as he was booed off at HT then booed back on at the start of the second half.

The pen could have gone either way, it was given and tbh I have no complaints. Greegs headed it up in the air perhaps Brill should have come for it and Rubes decided to solve the problem with a bit of WWE on their guy - 0-1, then we woke up the tempo increased but it was still pretty bad. I think we may have seen the last of Price, he's no wide player and when you are subbed for Smalley then you don't need me to tell you that your number is well and truly up. We huffed and puffed but it wasn't much better. Greegs goal came out of the blue tbh but if you don't buy a ticket you don't win the raffle! If anyone was gonna dig us out of the :censored: it was our Captain Fantastic, pen aside he was superb. Straight after the pen there was a stonewaller for Exeter turned down, Greegs throwing their guy to the ground. The pen in the last min was a joke Rubes won the ball their lad went down to cries of TIMBER! 5.9! Even the anonymous Taylor would have been embarassed by that one! Anyhow I couldn't watch but Brill dug us out of a big hole and it was nice to see the fans singing his name at the final whistle.

Stand out performers? Gregan was immense but is a tad to blame for the first pen and could have conceded another, that apart I wish we had 11 Gregans! JJ played well, Lee was ok but his hoofing got right on my tits! Midfield? What midfield???? Get someone in alongside Dale! Furman awful again! Taylor - non-existent again! Nards did ok, Pav seems to be suffering a lack of confidence, straight after the missed pen Pav skied a free header - symptomatic of his current plight in front of goal and an earlier Whits' effort was goalbound only to hit Pav on the arse and drift wide!

I'm no High Executioner but the Jury has almost finished deliberating and amongst the 400 there today, there was barely any support for Penney - the verdict may well be returned next week. Anything less than 6 points could see Simon Corney put on his black cap!

The majority of that is the story of our season. I reckon you copy that post and just alter the names. Price for Smalley, Colbeck for Smalley etc after each game.

    Good post.
