Ok so maybe moron is a strong word. Maybe it would be an act of stupidity rather than the person being stupid themselves.

Well he got abuse for the whole game and scored didn't he. In the end it didn't affect the outcome of the game but it could have done.

Someone who would boo a player knowing that they will probably react by scoring a goal for the opposition team, i would class as a moron. Just my opinion.

Anyone thinking of booing Hughes on saturday, how about you think about it before carrying out said action. We've seen first hand that he thrives on abuse and he will already be fired up enough without the moron population adding fuel to the fire. I personally have nothing against Hughes and i really wish he was still our player. We should have done everything to keep him but that's just the way it is i suppose.

I reckon somewhere between 300 and 500.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but i for one would not have been happy had we sold him after his great season. We weren't to know that he'd now be permanently injured.

Even Rochdale's 0-0 draw with hartlepool was on before us! I just don't think they like us.

I'm sure that once he's had time to settle and get fit he will come good. It's down to the fans to give him that time and not get on his back (a lot to ask from latics fans i know)

He needs time to get fully match fit. You could clearly see how tired he was even before half time. I was surprised how long Dickov left him on for tbh.

I thought he was very decent in pre season tbh. He didn't have a very good game yesterday but not every player can play well in every game. I've no doubt that he'll be a good player for us.

Yesterday was just top class, not just the game but the whole day. The atmosphere was fantastic from our fans. You make an atmosphere like that and the players will respond no doubt. It wasn't the best performance but we still won the game and that is what matters. The togetherness of the team and the management was great to see. The feel good factor is well and truly back. Let's see if that support can be replicated next week now and hopefully there will be a few extra through the turnstiles. Come on you blues!

According to the official site there were 1,764 latics fans at the game today. The away stand apparently holds 2,500. This means there were 736 empty seats. Where these seats on the roof or something because there's absolutely no way there were 736 spare seats in that stand!

Gone for stephens but thought jarret, hazell, alessandra and furman were all excellent.
