  1. More accurately it depends if DJ needs surgery and what sort of surgery he needs. If he's torn his ankle ligaments as well as breaking his fibula then he will be very lucky if he doesn't require surgery (that sort of surgery we are talking 5 months). Even if he hasn't torn his ligaments he may still need surgery to help fix his broken fibula (probably less time out). No surgery and it wouldn't surprise me to see DJ back in 15 weeks

As far as I'm aware (I only caught snippets of what happened with Brooke as I was on holiday and had very little idea what happened with Fleming). Brooke was thought to have torn his ankle ligaments (so requiring an operation) but the scan he had (DJ hasn't had his scan yet) didn't show that so the medical team have been giving him injections to help stabilise the joint and they've worked, hence why he is now close to resuming training. If he had needed an operation it could easily be Christmas til he was fit enough. With Fleming, he has torn his medial knee ligament but sometimes they don't require surgery and with some decent rehab get better sufficently (especially as fleming is a goalie).

According to this http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/NewsU...2122148,00.html Brooke since he hasn't had surgery was only expected to be out for 10-12 weeks he's back in full training within 8 weeks (if he starts on Monday), doesn't mean he won't be out for 10 weeks.

Hang on a minute rudemedic. I'm a radiographer and they usually don't touch the fibula bone with surgery as it usually corrects itself. Other than that I agree.

  2. Most NI fans were very critical of Worthington for picking Feeney and Healy instead of Lafferty (Rangers) and Paterson (Burnley). Healy looks shot, he isn't playing regularly for his club and he hasn't produced the goods for NI in quite some time. But Feeney ran himself into the ground for 90 minutes, according to NI fans he's Northern Ireland through and through and "he'd sweat blood for NI".

I think we've all seen his effort and commitment on the pitch, especially at Tranmere, still I'd like the guy to start banging them in pretty soon, hopefully he's getting close to full fitness.

Apparently he's not an out an out goalscorer, more your Paul Warne type player who will chip in with a handful per season!

  3. who would you start up front tomorrow? now feeney is fully fit who would your two be. it seems tounkara is nailed on hes getting better and better every game and will become a very good striker in this league over the course of this season. djeny has been very impressive with his work rate, movement, touch, link up play. seems like we have a real talent on our hands here. and then there is feeney who is experienced strong full of energy great touch and turn finds space and even makes his own space at times. on the down side in the three league games i dont remember 1 chance were either of djeny or feeney have looked like scoring themselves (yet) personally i think we should stick with djeny for the minute not done anything to warrant being dropped and its now feeneys job to force the managers hand and leave him no choice but to pick him.

    any thoughts

Don't mess with a winning formula!!!

  4. For me the first save on there against West Brom ranks as the best save I've ever seen by an Oldham goalie.

Nah as a goalkeeper myself Keepers thrive on those types of 'Hollywood' saves - easy pickings. Don't know what his best save was out of that lot but imo it was not the West Brom save.

  5. TBH however you play the money off schemes they don't seem to have had a great take-up with us except when it's free. I've made the point before that we should look to get people into the big games, not the rubbish ones, it's not like we will run out of seats anyway. Hope we keep plugging away with the attempts anyway, there's no saying that it doesn't result in bringing some regulars back which is worth a lot of money over the long term. Just please not for the dismal games in gloomy winter against crap teams. Or do that as well but let them get into an enjoyable game first ;)

Slightly disagree. True when we are playing badly the money off schemes do seem to do badly. However, as things are going now I do believe such a scheme as above, although pitched slightly cheaper, may just tempt back the ones who are wavering at the moment!

  6. 4,500, slowly slowly catchy monkey (or on) attendances for our home games in April were

    3,486

    3,769

    4,225

4,500 will at least show we have recouped some of the stayaways from the second half of last season - we can build from there knowing we are indeed back to the faithful 4,500.

Im gutted I can't make it on Saturday tbh. After watching us against Charlton i'm all hyped about the season for the first time in years. Yes I know it could all go per-shaped, but enjoying the limited good times as a lower league supporter is what it is all about

  7. First game of the season and just got back...

A great effort from the boys. A good point but I am abit gutted as we could, and should, have won the game. Charlton look nothing special although I do think they will make the play-offs! As for ourselves.. well ask me in a couple of games and I might start talking about the play-offs too!

    Another cracking strike by Furman!

  8. Just been told directly of a source very close to Lewis, that both Wigan and Sheff Wed are lining up a move for him, looks like another young prospect is going...

Assuming this is correct, I will be well peeved! :ranting: Already sold Abbott and Eaves. If true, the club will never get another penny off me.

  9. Last season we played Leeds at home in the FA Cup. I was narked that I had ordered my tickets online to find I then had to pick them up at the club. I contacted AH to vent my annoyance.. and guess whast he did? He took my address and on his way home he dropped them off at my front door!

Can anyone else think of a single football CEO who would do that?

Wow that is quite a gesture. Good on him!
