  1. That sounds good to me, cask ale too!!🍺

Will I be O K in The Swan with my clogs, flat cap and whippet. No one will know I am an Oldham fan if I don't speak. They won't know the blue top with an owl on it is designer gear!

Singe - Can you ask Garry for two bitters and half of coke (for our wheel woman) about 1.00pm please?

    Cheers - Brian.

Can I  plug a mate of mine's pub in Maidstone Town Centre? Gary , who is the landlord.

He's a Liverpool and Maidstone fan. Until a couple of years ago he was a work colleague, decent bloke trying to earn a living in a tough industry, so I thought I'd do my best for him.

It's not he biggest pub, but a few of you popping in will help.

Not much  more than a 5-10 min walk (8 min average) from the ground. 0.4 mile.

    Cheers

My first season watching Latics was in Division 4 in the 1970-71 season. We were promoted, finishing 3rd, and scoring 88 league goals. In all competitions Jim Fryatt and David Shaw scored 50 goals between them! That's why I'm a Latics fan. It's been a long journey, with many 'ups' on the way.

    :latics:

Wow that is fantastic as it's just what I did.

I was 16 then and that is when the "bug" that is being a Latics fan got me. Yes I have missed a few games. holidays, family, etc but it's my club. It has had different people being custodians, some good some bad, some very Indifferent staff, shabby players, cracking players, managers who were great and some who were unable to manage them self but at the end of the day, IT'S MY CLUB.

Roll on League 2 and let's get ready for a ride and get behind our team - whoever they are!!

All the best to all fellow 'tics

    Cheers - Brian.:comeon:

Ha ha, I’m already lining you up for Northampton...how you fixed?

Will you be getting a battered sausage?

Northampton Away. Bloody Hell it's a 5.30 Kick off on a Saturday. You lot had consumed enough by kick off at Wimbledon and that was 12.00 noon on a Sunday!

No pie and chips for me, I think the battered sausage is in Royton dealing with Mrs M's plumbing (sorry Gutters).

I’ve booked the week after the final off work so I can travel up for the open top bus parade and civic reception.

Sorry but since Bower Lane Railway bridge closed and Oldham Corporation ceased to run buses we now have no open toppers!

Perhaps we can parade down Union Street in a Tram.  I am sure the "Tram Fixer" on here could sort us out an open top tram!!!:jester:

  5. The early kick off is to encourage the sober fans to visit Bekonscot model village and railway on the way back. (Just off the M40).

You can buy a scale model pint in the scale model pub to celebrate our League 1 status!!:peepwall:

I think we might need these on the way back:toilet:,

Let's all hope we don't need Wimbledon for a get out of :jailed: and we do Rochdale on Saturday.

  6. No substitute keeper again; Croft on the bench (first involvement since Mansfield away, and therefore under Shez); no Edmundson (what does he have to do?); Green back in (back 4?)

    2 up front again?

Ah Croft on the bench!. Have I missed an announcement about his contract, I thought it ran out early doors this month :OASISscarf: Anybody know?

    Cheers - Brian.

  7. Absolutely this!! People need to give the guy a :censored:ing break.

I'm sure he regrets a lot of things, but for the most part his heart (and most certainly his wallet) are in the right place.

Yes there have been some monumental balls ups over the last 5 years, but without this substantial subsidy being pumped in by SC where would we be? I call it a subsidy because the size of it has got to a level where he could have just cut his losses.

There's absolutely nothing untoward re: brassbank.

And the people asking for the asking price for the club to be made public. Please, oh please, get a grip.

    Rant over

Well from what I can see in Royton and what I hear this is spot on.

Give Simon a break, get behind him, Shez and the team and let the "back room boys" get on with it.

Yes we give up our Saturday Afternoons and Tuesday nights to support out team but at least most on OWTB aren't armchair fans supporting some premier league teams from the Pig and Virgin watching Sky with a pint of Black Sheep

Thanks to the collective who turned out to meet Simon and team. Well done and thanks. :ktf:

  8. I know I am sad but:

Before you run a " special train" you need:

    * An operator with a licence.

    * A "path".

    " Rolling Stock..

    Traction.

And then organisation at the moment the minimum time to arrange this is 13//14 weeks!!!

He y ho - never mind!!

    Cheers - Brian

(and no I don't work for the railway!) :shakeit:
