  1. That wasn't old "Rubber Gob" was it - flippin heck - that takes me back - oh - memories!!
  2. You know that brought a smile to my face - and it wasn't the bit about Ethan walker!!
  3. I would second that @Pidge I just don't want any man to go through what I have been through - yes i am on a curative treatment plan and thanks to the NHS and MacMillan Cancer Support I am in a great place. As I said above I volunteer for MacMillan's on "MacMillan Online Community" on the Prostate Cancer forum - yes we talk about Prostate Cancer - we also talk about football - but you can join us there and ask any questions you want - we talk about issues you may not want to talk about with you wife or your partner or your mates in the pub. Search for the Macmillan Online Community and once there The Prostate Cancer Forum if you need to speak to me - my user name is "Millibob" You can also PM me on here if you are worried or just want a chat about it. Get tested lads - it's a simple blood test at the GP's and if you are 50 or over your G P can't refuse you a PSA test. It's better to find out NOW than later. Best wishes - Brian.
  4. Yes, I forgot the weight gain - but that's managed now - Well done for staying the course, I am a full 3 years due to high PSA and being a Gleason 9 but yes - Attitude - you do need it. I say again lads - get checked - to lose your dignity is better than losing your life. Best wishes Boyyou - Regards - Brian.
  5. Cheers Glossop - To be honest it's not too bad if you can keep a positive attitude - there's no pain (apart from the biopsy) and it's better than the alternative as the treatment is being given as "curative" so happy days. Best wishes - Brian.
  6. I am very pleased with Paddy Power who are donating £1000 for ever 180 scored at the darts World Championship to Prostate Cancer Uk. An amazing donation. Best wishes and well done to both Pidge and Paddy Power. Brian
  7. You are very lucky boy - It was thought my cancer had left the gland with a PSA of 182 on diagnosis - I am on one of the other treatment paths - Hormone Therapy and Radio Therapy. Prostate Cancer lives on Testosterone so if you have no Testosterone it can't feed and gets killed off - hence the hormone therapy (there are side effects - hot flushes, you grow a pair, erectile dysfunction, you can cry for England etc) and then 20 blasts on the "sunbed" to kill the bastards off properly. I am 23 months into my 36 months of Hormone Therapy. My thanks go to the Royal Oldham and North Manchester General Hospitals and The Christy at Oldham - I agree the NHS has been fantastic, so has MacMillan Cancer Support. (So much so that I am now a Prostate Cancer volunteer with MacMillan's online Community!!). Lads - Get tested and if there are ANY issues with the waterworks - do something about it!!!!!! Best wishes - Brian
  8. Just sometimes I an right. What a shambles though - I only live in Royton but even I was getting ready to set off. Whatever happened to "common sense"? Someone needs their bumps feeling!! Best wishes - Brian.
  9. I am sat in the Republic of Royton looking out of my window at my frozen lawn. I haven't had my frost covers on but judging by the Polar Bears and Penguins walking about and the fact the dog won't go out to do his sniffing around and it's still -2 (it was -5 last night) I can't see it being on. Please note I have been wrong before. (PaddyPower will confirm this!). Best wishes - Brian.
  10. You can see the poppies on the photograph posted by @oafcmetty a few posts above. Yes a very well done to all involved on Saturday and indeed leading up to the day.
  11. Did anyone notice the poppies mown into the grass on each alternate segment of the pitch on the JR side of the ground? So thanks to the ground staff - they do deserve more praise - as the pitch is amazing for this time of the year. Well done!! . Thanks - Brian,
  12. A small donation made to the funds - i will pop some more in next month. A small price to pay for my edification. Thanks - Brian.
  13. I would just like to thank you for the post. At 67 years of age I have just had to use Mr Google to fathom out just what @Wardie is! Having read the answer and almost depositing my bacon sandwich on the floor (complete with HP Sauce). I have now recovered having drank my coffee. I would just like to thank you all for enabling me to discover the "Urban Dictionary" (I have also discovered what a "pissboil" is!). OWTB is so educational - I must pay some money in later today to continue my education! You lot are so kind - Thank you - Brian
  14. @Monty Burns I have a couple of hours free this morning, before my visit to the stadium of wet dreams. - is there anything else you need doing, dog walking? cat brushing, toe nails filing? You do appear to be very demanding this week and we need @Bender for another 2/3rds of a season - please don't knacker him before the promotion push!. Thanks - Brian .
  15. See Monty - even dreams come true!! And there was no trouble on the 409 (although I got a lift home with number 2 daughter!)
  16. You aren't wrong Monty - They should bring bus conductors back too! The bus drivers aren't allowed to leave their cabs to sort out the low life who can't be sociable! It's not only at night - some school children have no idea just how loud and rude they are! A few days back I had to sort some low life out on the bus and I am 67!! Yes I know it's free for me but I like it to be safe!! Rant over - I hope it's quiet on my 409 to the stadium of wet dreams tonight!!
  17. I do read all the posts and don't always agree with what @mcfluff1985 says - but I agree 100% with this statement! Well said that man. Brian
  18. RESPECT and a safe journey to all travelling Latics - Bring back the first 3 points of many this season. Brian
  19. Oh no - I've liked another of Monty's posts. (goes to sit in iced bath with cold beer!!).
  20. 'Tis on their fissul Twatter "GAME ON SATURDAY!!!!!
  21. Hope was OK - he just need more time on the pitch. For me Nuttall didn't appear to be interested and was quite happy to amble around the park. (personal opinion Monty - like you I have been wrong in the past and I admit my mistakes!). Brian.
  22. Well my gast is flabbered! Gone for a lie down after the cold shower. What's now even more worrying is I thought Royton was the only "Posh Little Village" you don't live round the corner do you ?,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  23. Strange one - but again I have voted with it being Latics - when I looked at the results - I think I have voted the same as Monty Burns!!!!!!!!!!! (now off for a cold shower as that's worrying) Come on you Blues.
  24. Nethen, that's a proper first post, well said lad. Fer someone who's supped draught OB and the finest J W Lees best bitter for 50 years, I know we can't get the draught in ('cause it don't keep - it's fer drinkin) but I agree, we could do better than bring a multi-national in - we could support someone local. Anyhow - good luck to the boys next season - and hope you are all well. Cheers - Brian.
