  1. So you'd actually prefer the main stand moaners than actual professional manager running the club?
  2. Exactly why oh why oh do we employ people when we've got ready made tactical wizards sat in the stands who could tell us all we need to know gErrItForWaRd!!
  3. I'm tempted to agree that telling people with such a simplistic view of football too F-off is a valid response. Tell you what I'd never thought of sticking a striker on thanks for the insight. I wonder what pearls of wisdom came out of this person's mouth. GERRIITFORWARD!
  4. It always amazes me that people pay much attention to the post match interviews I mean we've gone what 1 win in 14? Whatever he says in the post match isn't going to change that. He's got to go back in the dressing room and lift the players after that because some of them(quite a few of them in our case) he will need next season so he's got to be careful about throwing them under the bus but he can't turn round and say everything is amazing because clearly it isn't and the fans will thi k he's taking the piss out of them.
  5. Peter Clarke who doesn't want to be a manager would definitely come in definitely wave a magic wand and all will be well. If the players started winning they definitely won't revert to type like they have for the last 2 managers infact we'd never lose again.
  6. Let's just see what happens in the summer first their is a very good chance we could be much stronger come Aug 24 but it will probably take longer to get it to exactly where we want it to be. Don't write off next season just yet.
  7. Yes. It doesn't mean that we can't or won't challenge I think we will challenge for promotion next season but interms of getting all the wastage out of the squad and getting it to where we want to be it will take us atleast another 12 months, but I do believe the team we have can and probably will look very different come August it will be unrecognisable by Aug 25.
  8. Dare I say this but regardless of who is in charge next season we are at the start of a 2 year plan to transform the squad?
  9. Yeah we've seen that one before though haven't we. They will suddenly turn into world beaters.
  10. No it's not going to be easy your right getting them off the books and it won't be as simple as them going somewhereelse for a third of the pay or us paying them up in full. I'm hoping their appetite to move will have changed after 4 months of idle time. If as in a hypothetical scenario like you suggest we have someone on £900 a week and we have someone come in and offer £300 a week then maybe it would be best if we say you can go we pay them £600 a week for the next 12 months with the proviso that they can't play against us then that might be a deal we have to take save £300 a week and get an unproductive player out the door. It's those types of things we might have to consider. If you do that for 4 players you can save enough for 1 player who might male a big difference to us.
  11. I think I'd be more worried if he tried to dress it up as being better than it is. The first stage of solving a problem is admitting their is a problem he can see what we see he's not blind or stupid. John Sheridan was hardly inspiring in interviews he was often blunt and to the point and was always very honest if he'd been in charge he'd probably have given the same kind of interview. A pretty clear message sent to the board to help him shift the deadwood and some of the players not able to get into the team to find new clubs. The likes of Ward Reid and Shelton have been sat on the arse doing rock all for the last 5 months or so find yourself a new club lads it will do knowone any favours sitting around collecting a wage least of all the players themselves find a new club boys it's for the best.
  12. We sack a manager now we will just repeat the same cycle over and over and over again. Although if he offers Mcgahey a new contract he can go. We have too many old immobile men in the team and if I was the board I'd ne pushing back against adding more over 30's in this team who will just get out run.
  13. I mean I wouldn't go that far and hope you don't either. But still even with alot of poor performances this season we still weren't that far away from getting in the play offs I mean turn 3 defeats into 3 wins and we'd be there and there would still have been plenty of games where we shit the bed. It's tough getting out of this league no doubt about it but it's far from impossible, certainly not in our situation.
  14. I mean he stays for me but fuck me their is a big job to do this summer it doesn't need repeating how bad its been in the last quarter of the season but if they don't get it right Mellon will come under pressure very quickly. It might be the biggest summer of his career. We finish 8 points outside the play offs all we had to do to finish inside them was to beat Fylde, Wealdstone and Kidderminster at home and that would have been enough are all those teams part time?
  15. Mcgahey is getting a new contract isn't he... 5 players over 30 in the starting line up and 2 more who play like over 30's in Mcgahey amd Conlon. Apart from the obvious imbalance on the wings that's also where we have an imbalance.
  16. Are we going to see the annual pitch invasion today from anyone u der the age of 15 physically or mentally today. It really is a tradition that needs to end and should be reserved only for if we win promotion.
  17. The European super league was one big power play by the big clubs to get more from UEFA they've got an expanded champions league. The cost of which appears to be degrade further the FA Cup
  18. I realise that but it doesn't mean it's beneficial for the game as a whole and it's certainly no benefit to us.
  19. A) we are ready as a club but from a footballing point of view we have little problem of getting the 11 men on the pitch to kick the round thing in the goal more than other 11 men. Depends what lessons are learned from it I'm hoping we do learn from this.
  20. Yes Tottenham and Newcastle have a friendly arranged on the 22nd of May out in Australia but they can't play FA Cup replays because of fixture congestion. For the record I'd be happy if at round 5 they scrapped replays but rounds 1 to 4 is hugely important for teams lower than the championship.
  21. Club statement Trying to change the subject abit from the pity party that is the last quarter of this season. Quite a big change to the FA cup seems to be taking place without consultation of many of the clubs. I do approve of the keeping the competition on Saturdays but what I don't like is the complete disregard of replays and how important they are not just from a financial point of view but from a footballing point of view too. Their is something magical about an FA cup tie in deep winter under the lights at Boundary Park. I'm glad the club have come out and said this and I'm glad other club's are pushing back too.
  22. Which is why this summer is a crucial one for us because we have to learn from those mistakes in recruitment whatever they maybe from the last 2 years. I think the current hierarchy is capable of critical thought unlike the last lot so I think they will learn lessons from this and we will come back stronger.
  23. Marc White pre match team talk Whiz it through to when Marc White does his pre match prior to the Oldham game he mentions about beingbable to out work us mentions about Hogan ability to win aerial duals and the importance of making the first contact with us it's something to think about but I'm not surprised he believes we can be outworked we have a lack of running power in the team.
  24. A possibility yes but not something we know for certain But the point Im really driving at here is that it's easy to draw conclusions based on assumptions. What is critical this summer is that we get to the root of the recruitment problem it's a pivotal summer this one for us Get it right and we can really build sone momentum.
