Those middle games bring back some memories, the NYD mauling of Forest with Rocky scoring in the last minute to cost me my 4-0 @ 66/1.

The win at Gillingham. The rain that day, anyone there will know what I mean in that uncovered away end. Totally dominant.

Taking millions to Rotherham on Boxing Day, storming the fence and then edging a thriller.

Seeing off Northampton to comfortably just before Xmas.

As if those games were over 12 years ago!

Why did you storm a fence?

Chuckle banned me from his Facebook group after I pointed out that he had on more than one occasion posted racist and homophobic posts only to remove them.

He then sent me 20 to 30 abusive private messages on messenger. Such a classy guy!

    Man of the people!

I've witnessed him square up to someone in the portacabin next to the chaddy end and on numerous occasions swear in front of children.

I watched them at Exeter a week and a half ago.  They played 4-4-2 then (although they played a 4-5-1 on Tuesday) and were pretty traditional in the way they set up.  2 physical centre backs, 2 steady full backs, a strong centre mid in McCullough and a savvy one in Perkins, 2 out-and-out wingers and 2 athletic forwards.  Their players aren't as talented as Bury and they aren't as "professional" as Lincoln, but they're well organised and have threats in the right areas.

I'd say that we should stick with 4-2-3-1 for the game:

    Iversen

    Hamer

    Clarke

    Edmundson

    Iacovitti

    Missilou

    Sylla

    Dearnley

    Maouche

    Nepomuceno

    Lang

Not ideal having Maouche in the Baxter role, but there's no point putting O'Grady and Vera up against centre backs that are going to overpower them.  If Maouche finds the gaps between their defence and midfield and Lang drags their centre backs out of position, we might get some joy.

Agree with this team. It's a shame we can't drop Maouche who has been coasting through games for as long as I can remember. Lots of ability but he can't really be arsed.

Time for Hunt to have a rest and introduce a taller left back.

Bloody hell. Torn between a footballer and a raffle winner. I suggest spec savers mate. Sylla couldn’t break a kit kat

Couldn't go on Tuesday so I assume your irrationale response is based on his showing in that match. We need an upgrade on the pair of them from what I've seen.

This is the bit I don't get though... Why would AL force a manager to pick shite players and play others out of position to the detriment of the team? Surely it's in his interests for the team to do well?

Unless it's some fiddle to get money in through the club in some form of appearance bonuses or something like that?

Because players like Hunt have upset him. Therefore we have to play Nepo at lb. The new lad will slot in and Nepo will push further forward.

Could you see why he started, though?

I wonder if AL will sack himself for being a shit manager?

Vera came into it slightly but was tired. I suppose he started due to limited other options or AL said he needs to.

Don't really understand the second question, Joe.

As a number of us have said, Pete Wild has done a reasonable job as interim manager but he is clearly not yet ready to take the role on permanently. The insight he has gained in running the first team will be invaluable if/when he returns to a role with the Academy.

We all have our views on whether AL is having a say in who plays come match day, but what is patently clear is a need for a strong individual to come in and take on the manager’s position. If that person is Paul Scholes then I hope that his demands are honoured by AL.

Then we might have a go at the playoffs. Whatever happens, it has to be soon!

AL is having more than just a say. He is picking the team. No doubt in my mind.
