Yet this season we've been crying out for a Fane or Sylla type. Fane was brilliant and doing the one thing he was there for, winning the ball back and giving it to someone more creative. Have him back in a heartbeat

agree we need the type but neither of them would get in this seasons team they were shocking. Fane literally couldn’t control or pass it. To say ntambwe is better at anything is hard but he can honestly play better than both of them

  2. hearing some media guy, I think it is the announcer and poss one other for calling the chief exec woman a non league exec / doesn’t have a clue.

Not 100% on this as don’t know the guy I heard it off personally but do know he used to work at the club so likely in the ball park

  3. Wasn’t there but this is what happens when things don’t go well. Have no issue people shouting when people aren’t working hard enough or playing well below what they can but I think this could be this bunch’s best efforts. Fans abusing them will only contribute to us falling apart. The anger and frustration needs to be aimed at AL and his brother for putting this lot together

Banide again blaming a lack of quality in the team. He can say that can’t he because he’s not responsible for recruiting this pile of shite.

I really don’t see a hope in hell that this arrangement is going to work in our favour!

                🤡🤡ABDALLAH OUT!🤡🤡

Surprised this is the only comment on banide's post match comments. For me that was the most worrying part, he's clearly an experienced coach who will have assessed where we are and already realises we are well short for the division. i think we know that but I'm actually glad he's come out and said it as its an honest assessment of what he's seen and i'd have preferred that to him saying its early stages ect. i just think when the coach mentions after two games that to 'exist' or stay in this league we must improve he realises already we are going to be down there and lack any real quality. I just hope thats his way of trying to get AL to sign some better players

i actaully thought he'd have had some impact on the signings but now i dont think he has, he's just here to coach them and he clearly has no say in who comes and go's in the squad. the fact he doesnt scream and shout doesnt bother me thats just his style and i think we need to get off his case for that, not sure anyone would do any better with what we have and i do think the team will be being well coached. If we go down or struggle he already has his excuse as he hasnt signed anyone, he can just sit there and be honest and say what i was left with wasnt up to the task and i think he'll do that every game. the owners will back themselves and say it was the coach not up to it and try and free themsleves from any blame and thats how it will play out.

to top it off this weekend seeing macc win, cheltenham win and morecambe get a credible point at mansfield makes me think we currently have the worst team in the leage. its going to be a hard watch this year

    Good post.

Lang was at the game last night, I think there’s a good chance he’ll sign.

Once the squad settles and people get fit, a starting 11 of-

    Woods

    mills

    wheater

    hamer

    smith-brown

    sylla

    missilou

    eagles

    branger

    nepo

    wilson/lang

I genuinely don’t think that’s to bad, granted it’s not top 3 material. But it’s s damn sight better than it looked two weeks ago.

agree as at one point it was looking very very bleak. still, where the goals are coming from looks to be the biggest challenge although azankpo finished very well with his goal last night and there's no way either vera or wilson have the confidence or ability to be doing that. hopefully lang comes in then we could be ok. funny but id rather we had a worse defence and mid and two guys up top who u fancied to get a min of 15 each as think we'd be in better position but time will tell

We may struggle but we need to give the manager and the team a little time before we write the season off as a lost cause.  The team is a bit of an unknown quantity but we need to get behind them and hope things gel on the pitch.  Meanwhile, the three groups squabbling to run the club need to find some common ground otherwise the lot will crumble no matter how good the team is.

Will be well behind them early season in hope they produce. Just hope they have enough but honestly we look short all over the pitch and off it

  7. better than i expected and im quite glad he's an english keeper rather than one thats not played in the EFL before. looking forward to seeing him in action but along with mills it looks a promising start to transfers for the summer as i was expecting a full foreign set of recruits

  8. he's managed monaco twice at a really decent level. none of our previous managers have anywhere near that experience so thats a good thing and a mrked change from what we have seen previously. should have plenty of contacts and be used to working under people like AL. i think he will fit as well as anyone could do although worried he rarely lasts longer than a year anywhere

  9. His comms are very very slick i have to say. BUT it is nice to see some sort of plan announced that we have all access to and can basically manage our expectations against which i dont think is a bad thing. First time anyone has ever done that and its good to see. I'm 50/50 over him if im honest as i can imagine the club was not in a great position and the fact parts of the ground and pitch are owed by seperate entites is just horrible. the team that went out on the pitch when we got relegated from lg 1 had more than enough quality in it so he'd done his job from that point. the bit we dont know is how much of his medling caused issues behind the scens that actually relegated us because moral was low. anyway i dont think he'll be going anywhere and just hope he can get it sorted and working. i kind of hope we get a foreign head coach whose used to working under that sort of owner but will have to see

  10. no chance of promotion. looks like some decent clubs coming down, orient will be ok and poss salford coming up so will be a better division and we will have a smaller budget and poss a fan managing us. no chance at all of promotion. there's clubs that are pretty well run, experienced managers in place and we expect to outperform them with the shambles behind the scenes we have. our best players are loan players, dont forget we will be 15 goals down and a decnet keeper down on this year before we start. bottom half poss relegation struggle would be more likley.

  11. he has done really well, in fact he's shown some more experienced managers up but he's not right long term for the job. Its basically a fan managing the club and he has no contacts and hasnt got the credentials to be able to attract decent players to come and play for him. Can see why people think he should be given a go but seriously you'd have to have major doubts he could build anything that would improve us next year. recruitment would be difficult and thats with AL doing the signings as pro's will not want to sign for him. we should all be greatfull for his efforts put him back to youth team manager as we know we will have a very suitable caretaker if needed in the wings and press on for a manager who can turn us into a decent side next year. prefereably one with some good contacts and experience.

I don't blame Richie Wellens for last season I blame the owner.

Wellens hardly did a good job though did he. Some of the formations and results under him were really poor. Buck stop with the manager. As far as I’m concerned he took us down and it was his fault.

Wild is showing that no matter what is Happening behind scenes u can still motivate and get performances out of teams. Did wellens get the best out of that lot last year?? Not so sure he did

Or will he stay true to his relegation excuse and play hoofball for this game because it's impossible to play passing football on our dreadful pitch ?

weather has been good. expect pitch to be ok actually and it be a decent game for league 2 level. plus didnt think we ever hoofed it under him. he had some weird formations that didnt help, remember him not playing a left winger in one game and we got roasted down the flanks.

  14. Should be a good game and plenty riding on it for both teams. Expect them to knock it about and not be a direct team like most league 2 as wellens team do try and play. expect goals at both ends, hopefully 2-1 latics but draw isnt the worst result for us. with them playing mid week we have a slight edge so hopefully will be fresher and that will count. has to be same team starting, i think we are better without baxter in team anyway so no probs him missing from me.
