  1. Living in hudersfield I may be able to help with this. Arnold has the best idea. The Grove is a real ale boozer best pub I know of in the area. 20-25 min walk from ground great beer and staff. Avoid any pubs on Leeds Road normally full of idiots. In the town centre Verve, Vox and as Tom mentions warehouse are all ok. Pretty icy over here this morning but undersoil heating at ground will def see the game on. So it's grove for me from 1230ish.
  2. I wouldn't imagine he'll be starting from game 1 next season but it could work... Reid not the best outside the box but has the potential to be potent inside. This fella, tall, very tall, could provide the knock downs for Reid to play off!!
  3. For me, Brill Lee Trotman Jarrett Evina Morais Furman © Stephens White Tonks Kelly
  4. What i saw, and it was first hand due to being there was that Jones was actually escorted back in. he went out at half time through the main exit, he was then refused re-entry by one of the guys on the door, said he didn't recognise him!?!? he was then escorted back in to the main lounge (one of the stewards vouched that he was who he said he was) and chuntered to himself 'well at least he was doing his job'. He then took his seat for the second half with JJ and Lewi and i think Worthington!
  5. Just a quick thought but would it be best replacing 'Oldham App' and 'Career App'?? My thought process behind this is that the cards would be unreliable one game after release apart from for players who have already retired. Therefore maybe detracting from the fun. Possible replacements could be 'Date of signing for OAFC' and possibly Aerial ability, Passing ability etc.... Just some thoughts
  6. Acky, Agree completely with you, i've posted on her before about my dislike for people doing what can only be described as 'jumping on the band wagon'. If one person has a genuine issue with a post then it is a matter of differing opinions and not something that should then turn in to a personality bashing session. I got taught a phrase when i was a wee lad that has stuck with me 'opinions are free but facts are sacred'. An opinion is just that, one's subjective slant on a situation, if they want to believe that then so be it and unless it can be disputed by actual evidenced fact then leave them to it. As an administrator/moderator can the site not start to clamp down on actual bullying/malicious comments? If you were a new member and logged on to the site for the fist time would you see it as an inviting environment? I for one certainly would not. In a time where crowds are languishing and finances are uncertain is it not a case that we should all be as accommodating as possible? if not for your own moral/ethical well-being then for the longevity of the club.... Preach over... N.B - Anyone that does not agree you are entitled to do so!!
  7. This is the fella who scored against Burnley and then went on trial at Huddersfield. Good signing for me, look sharp against Burnley and fits the Dickov type of player i.e. agression, closiing doen from the front etc. The question now is; Pav to go? Eaves to go? or both?
  8. Don't worry I've answered me own question, posted on the OS is the team and that it is actually the final of the Lancashire FA Senior Cup.
  9. Does anyone know is this is classed as a first team friendly(obviously i mean for ourselves)? Anyone thinking of making the trip?
  10. 'Man up and accept what comes his way' Very understanding and empathetic! I for one had thought we'd passed the dark ages era!
  11. All, I use this forum daily to keep a check on all the latest news and rumours that are in and around the club. Although i do not post all to often this thread has lead to such. Some one mentioned earlier that consistency is the key in regards to RA and Corp. Where is Corp now? and for that matter other that have been mocked in the past? Could this form of behaviour be a contributing reason as to why the club on a whole finds itself in the position that is does? In RA's case it is right to ridicule somebody because there grammar is not the best? because maybe somebody doesn't speak English as a primary language? or frankly because he expressed views that somewhat differ from that of yours. . Does it really matter if somebody has an alliance to another club? the amount of time RA spends on her i would suggest also shows his passion for OAFC which frankly is good enough for me. I would suggest that the daily barrage of abuse some members get in frankly no less than bullying/Harassment. I can see that sometimes RA may get carried away suggesting targets/captures but really in the big scheme of things so what, Actually i think some of your lives would be less entertaining without such characters in it. Is this the sort of image that we the fans and our club wish to portray? I would say not. Come on guys the majority of you are old enough and intelligent enough to know the sort of behaviour that is acceptable. Lets grow up, stick to the one unifying goal and push our team and club as a whole forward.
  12. Just a quick note, What is Brill reported to be earning?
  13. Omar, Not doubting your ketchup or anything but the fisial statesthat interviews are continuing today so surely that means they can't have drawn up a final three already?!? as i presume they'll be i/v more that 3 with Gray et al.
  14. This happened right outside of my work place, He was sat in a car with his brother, his bro then went to get something from a shop and a person he knows ran up to the car and asked for a lift to his vehicle around the corner (this is the bloke who stabbed the lad) Del obliged then came back round to pick his bro up. The police after having reports of a black male getting in Del's car went round and locked him and his bro up (description based on two black males in a red Audi). Wasn't in custody that long and his bail is to be cancelled shortly i believe from a very good source. I know Del personally and he still believes he's a prem striker, laughable i know, can see him either going to a lower level L2 team or hanging his boots up and resting as he was very shrewd with money when in the Prem. Good luck to him though, great bloke
  15. Your sadly deluded then IMO as the Devs and the wings would go four zip on them. but stranger things have happened!
  16. There was no way that Taylor even came close to being the best player on the pitch! He still lacks confidence to try and go past a man, something we all know he can do. He was predictable, cutting inside at every occasion and did not deliver one telling ball that i remember. the only thing terrifying about Taylor at the moment is that some people still think he's valued at around £1m!!! Where as Stephens and Gregan were again immense. Penny in my opinion had to ring the changes to try and get a break through, ok it didn't work. Roll on Saturday and boys, KTF
  17. I must disagree with this post. For the first time this season i was encouraged with what i saw from Penny. Firstly he started the game with a 4-5-1 which town were no where near expecting. The boy's played the best footballing first half I have seen from them yet, willing to close down straight away, always looked to get Stephens on the ball early and the extra pace out wide with Guy game them a real headache, If it hadn't been for poor finishing (story of our season) we could have gone in at half time two to the good. Clark then changed their structure at half time and got them attacking the channels between our CB's and full backs, again due to the work rate and discipline there wasn't an issue. Again town were frustrated and had to change their formation to 4-5-1 to counter our dominant midfield, within seconds Penny decided to give them the midfield and change to 4-4-2 to try and get something for the game. Lee see's red and again Penny changes it up, going for broke and goes to 3-4-2. In my opinion good on him, nothing to loose and everything to gain. He make the much talked about substitutions to try and inject something different into it. Pav was knackered and also looked to be carrying some knock, Taylor was just ineffective, found out within the first 30mins by Hudds, always cutting inside and once pressured always looking to recycle the ball, in a nutshell not a threat. If only Eves had composure we would have been 1-1 with 6mins to play, missed a sidefoot volley from 8yds which debatable he even had time to take a touch on, the sign of other player without confidence. All in All a really good display from the lads, a desire to play football, lots of running up front, a manager who for once responded to what he saw in the game. If only we had composure in front of the pegs! Anyway that is only my thoughts from what i saw.
  18. Just been looking on ISOhunt to download it and someone is saying that subtitles are required is this true? if so, due to not being the best with 'techy stuff' could someone tell me hoe to sync subtitles with the avi file. Cheers
  19. I heard that Chelsea are that worried about the form of Petr Cech and also about their fire power with loosing Drogba that there attempting to lure Brill and COG away from BP for £12m
  20. In that case i agree, get behind Brill as when he's full of confidence he can play the game
  21. What are the latest reports on Fleming? Any chance that this may prompt a recall? I know that some think he also make fundamental mistakes but to the same degree as Brill? I would personally have more confidence in Fleming.
  22. How did Rowney play? from the times I've seen him this season i really think he'd be worth a crack in the first team. He would give us some decent distribution in the middle of the park and would do well i think feeding of the likes of Furman and Worthie (when fit). Although he is young i wouldn't be averse to at least seeing a few prolonged sub appearances.
  23. I have a theory!!! they thought the keys were in safe hands at the training ground only for the investigation to find that Brill had dropped them on the way in
  24. Can someone help me out please, just had a change of plan which means i can attend tomorrow but my other half is desperate to come. My question is; is the ticket office open tomorrow before the game so i can get her in the main stand upper? if so what time does it open. cheers
