  1. To be fair, did Johnson ever say he didn't want to sign him? Or that he did? He wouldn't have been able to 'cower behind' SC if SC had had the sense not to get into the whole sorry ordeal in the first place.

I'm sure Corney said on one of the Radio Manchester phone-ins that Johnson went to the board in January and told them to sign him. But the first rumours after Rochdale away might have been initiated by the board.

Mind you, I mentioned that the other day and got shot down for it.

  2.

He dropped a massive bollock leaving here when he did (unless something else was at play as he's alluded to a few times).

I think he'd still be here if he hadn't told the board to sign Evans. Or he'd have stayed until the end of the season. The fall out after that saw him jump at the first opportunity, and us win about 5 games since.

Like others have said, I liked him when he was here. But trying to sign Evans and leaving when he couldn't says a lot about him.

  3. Didn't go, so can't say much about the ref today, but we always seem to get bad refs against Sheffield United. The away game last season rings a bell for a particularly bad one.

I listened to the game on Radio Sheffield, and they (unsurprisingly) didn't agree with the home fans criticisms against the ref. The co-commentator decided that the Main Stand were moaning just because we have 'an old fan base'.

  4. Was in NZ earlier this year seeing family and decided one day to wear the home shirt. Eventually triggered a response ... words of " oh look a bloody latics shirt! Have they signed that rapist yet? " .. bloody tourists!!!!

My brother had the same earlier this year in a random outpost somewhere in China - he got talking to a businessman who was asking if they'd built the new stand yet.

  5. Thought he came across quite well, I'm definitely feeling slightly more positive after listening to him talk.

It seems like one of the first things he's done is to get Forte and Mills' injuries sorted, so they're fit when they come back. Wonder why Johnson and Kelly decided to keep risking them?

  6. They could of had 2 or 3 direct from corners. There was a massive lack of leadership at the back. I thought N'Gussen bullied our centre halves.

But he couldn't finish for :censored:, so we got a draw. How they gave him MOTM, I'll never know.

People are moaning for the sake of it. We got a point from not playing particularly well, and Dunn's got a week to build on it. It wasn't a classic, but it was nowhere near as bad as some people are making out.

  7. What worries me is that we have now set the tone. what happens in 7 games if results performances dont change? Hire someone else? And again if not results change?? This is our 4th manager of the calender year and if its not perm and we bring someone in before the turn of the year 5 mamagers in 2015

Exactly. We had a chance when Johnson left to build on what he'd started, but instead we gave it to Holden until the end of the season, and then sacked the fella we took 3 months to hire. Now we've got another short-term manager, and lost any optimism from the beginning of the season.
