  1. I would absolutely LOVE it if the Lasher scum were to come down this season. They would have half a squad to go with their half a ground, and might find their level in a couple of seasons (League Two). The only thing which would make me want the bigger teams (Southampton, Leicester etc) to come down is the money generated when we play them at BP. We'd make more money off that one game in gate receipts than off playing yesterday's dross ten times. Shame Preston won't be coming down with them, though. Another local derby to get excited about. Keep the Faith
  2. Oooh so it is! He's at Chester now, played a fair few games for them this season.
  3. I can't remember who the shaven-headed guy is, know he was a full-back though. Tierney? Killen, Eyres ,Beckett and Arber? Nice and current We might be rubbish against the poorer sides but 'Uddersfield were terrible and we tanked them!
  4. And he's had two weeks wages docked.. so he'll have lost about £100,000? That's madness really, considering he won't really miss it. Probably pay our squad for a month with that, it's all a bit sickening really.
  5. I had mine for almost a year; Head gasket, new brake discs and pads at the front, rear section of the exhaust after it fell off(!), oxygen sensor, rear suspension arms and bushes and to top it off the heating didn't work! Loved it though, would happily have another! What's the car on offer in this competition?
  6. Done! I used to drive an N-reg Punto so I know how you feel! Best of Britsh Lois.
  7. I think this will be okay provided the Ressies can actually get games? This would all be a big mistake if after pulling out of the League no-one wants to play us! Keep the Faith
  8. Why wasn't a transfer embargo placed upon them until they sorted out their finances? Should stick one on them now, not a sniff that they are anywhere close to meeting their salary cap. I know it's not enforced but come on, they're taking the proverbial a bit now. They have debts up to here *points*, and they're allowed to carry on as they were, sign this and that and then decide, when they realise they weren't good enough to make up the 15 points () throw their toys out of the pram and demand the 15 points back. I don't even see how this has come to court, it is an actual joke. Keep the Faith
  9. I think he might be knocking on the door of the U-21s if he was English, I rate him that highly. Anything less than £750k and I'd be hopping mad. Prefer we kept him, though. Keep the Faith
  10. If they get this 15 points overturned, I'll be writing to TTA along with every other chairman in the League asking them to sue the football league. This has been mentioned in the pub a few times before Latics games this season, if the FA deem a claim to have a red card recinded is 'frivolous', then they can add games onto the ban. I think due to the fact dirty Leeds have had the bare-faced cheek to claim these points back, they should double the 15 points. Show them not to play silly beggars. The fact that their biggest debt is to the taxman (in effect you and I, the people of Britain), is reason for us to demand it all back, right now. Keep the Faith
  11. Only made one or two signings in my first season, Matt Jansen (super sub) and Michael Timlin on loan from Fulham, on the left. Still in my first season in League One, but so far played 11; won 10 and lost 1. Can't remember who to, was a while back. I think they've done us a bit of a dis-service, the players aren't as good on the game as they are in real-life, apart from Kilkenny who seems to be a bit like Ronaldinho for me On Fifa 08 though, we're the second best team in the League, Gregan's the best player (bar none) in League One! Keep the Faith
  12. I don't really see how people are saying Lomax is as good, or a ready-made replacement for Eardley. Jeez Louise some people are quick to write players off, Eardley is easily one of our best prospects and I'd say worth £1million+, given the current price for young Welsh International full-backs. If Lomax was as good, surely he too would be watched by scouts week-in, week-out. Not that I'm saying Lomax is rubbish.. just that he's not as good as Eards. (In my opinion.) Keep the Faith
  13. Davies and Eardley are internationals, dontchaknow Keep the Faith
  14. I'll be here next season. And the one after that and then the one after that too. I love this club and I'll watch then rain or shine, no matter who we're playing and what level it's at. Keep the Faith
  15. Consulting my girls aloud poster ; Nadine Kimberley Cheryl Nicola Sarah Also, well said to the first poster (back on topic ) Sometimes the fans at BP are just insatiable, I don't know what we'd have to do as a side to stop people complaining. Sometimes we all need to remember that we are only a third division side. Keep the Faith
  16. Surely we signed him because we had very few strikers fit, and we needed another option. Keep the Faith
  17. If I hear 'Eardley's rubbish' one more time I think I might explode. He's far from rubbish, he's a good player now and is improving all the time. He is 19 years of age, he's captain of our side and an international player (albeit Wales). When we play to his strengths, with a winger in front of him, and he has time on the ball to pick out a pass his distribution is second to none. He gets pressured with no protection and sometimes his passing can be wayward. But he is only 19, surely he can be expected to make mistakes? The players who Sheridan has brought in have come with good reputations, not just from their ex-managers but also from the fans of their previous clubs (Preston fans talked up Jarrett like he was the best thing since sliced bread), Livermore, Constantine are all names who are really in the upper tier of League One players. If for whatever reason they've not performed, then fair enough but all Sheridan can do is look at what they've done at other clubs and hope they'll do the same for us. Today we didn't do too badly, considering. Crossley, Gregan, Hazell, Davies, Liddell, Hughes etc are all missing, and those who played today have questionable fitness levels. 1-1 at home to Milwall, who are a notoriously difficult team to beat (beat Swansea last week don't forget) is not a result which leads to sacking the manager. Someone else earlier mentioned knee-jerk reactions, I agree. Sheridan firmly in, play-offs or not. Keep the Faith
  18. Just generally, players (or managers) who go back to an old club never quite live up to those old expectations. Keep the Faith
  19. I think with our squad so paper-thin we'd be foolish not to sign a player with the quality of Murray, even if its only until the end of the season to prove his fitness and get us out of a hole. Though there is the unwritten rule that players who come back to a club are rubbish the second time... Keep the Faith
  20. I agree with that Bloody donkey lasher scumbags. Getting all high and mighty now they've achieved their dream of mid-table mediocrity in the Championship. Tranmere are another rival for me, but only because of the Mooreon connection. I can't hate Huddersfield too much, as Stitch is the gaffer. Probably Leeds/Doncaster are the other rivals we have, but only through players moved between the clubs and the fact they're the most locals clubs in the League. Will be looking forwards to going back to Bloomfield Hole next season, Tangerine scum Keep the Faith
  21. Is it likely that we'll sign a 'keeper from a Southern club and they'll just meet up with the squad down at Luton rather than travelling up here today only to go back down to Luton tomorrow? Just a thought. Keep the Faith
  22. We didn't get rid of him because he wasn't good enough though, did we? Had we ever seen Hughes and Ricketts together I think everyone would be singing from a different hymn sheet. There are hundreds (probably more) who thought Warne was the best player since sliced bread, because of his 'effort and commitment'. That was why he was the fan's favourite, not because of his massive haul of goals. I think Ricketts will go elsewhere and make a success of himself, and prove us wrong for dumping him. I hope he does, to be honest. Does anyone really think he wasn't a classy player? Based purely on his on-pitch abilities. Keep the Faith
