  1. I've tried to introduce friends, uni housemates and girlfriends to Latics and in the past four years I've had the opportunity to show them what watching Oldham is all about, the games have been terrible. With the exception of the 3-0 win at home vs 'uddersfeeled which was a good introductory game. I brought my housemate and my girlfriend to the Tranmere game in January, the worst game any of us had ever seen. The on-pitch product needs to improve before any people I bring will be encouraged to come back.
  2. How much of a fan would you consider yourself? I get to every home game, league and cup, and the occasional away day - Stockport or Tranmere usually. If I didn't have to work weekends and wasn't perpetually a skint student-type I'd go to every game! I was one of the few fans at the Clyde United friendly, for example.. Do you think there are certain things a Latics fan should never do? Wear a Citeh shirt in the Chaddy How do you react after a defeat? I always try to take a positive from it, though having never seen Latics play in a League other than the one we're in now it isn't too much of a problem for me! Whats the most important thing about the matchday experience the result or the day in general? The whole experience of it is important to me, the train up to Rochdale then the drive to the Rifle Range, few scoops in there and then the walk up to the Chaddy End, hearing Mouldy Old Dough as I walk up the stairs with the horrible pie in my hands.. If you were given £1,000,000 would you go and support your main rivals? My least favourite club is Citeh, would I swap £1million to have to watch them week-in, week-out? Tough one. I could always sit in the away end at the Council House. Do you have a Latics tattoo? I do have a stupid tattoo but I'm not daft enough to get 'Keep The Faith' written on my skin
  3. I'll be there, taking in the famous Main Stand atmosphere as the Chaddy is shut!
  4. It's also true in real life, his Mrs' band are called 'Skyrah Kane' - look them up. They're awful
  5. He's a 'music producer' these days - his girlfriend is in a 'music' group which are in danger of failing before they even release a single.
  6. From the outset the Nazi party looked to persecute ethnic minorities and use them as a tool to gain support with the White majority, much like the BNP are doing right now. This whole 'voluntary repatriation' thing that the BNP are talking about is almost beyond belief. Sending non-whites 'home' - where to, Levenshulme? That's where my black friend is from. His migration from Levenshulme to Salford for uni hasn't really ruined our economy.
  7. The perfect protest vote ideally wouldn't be for a racist party and more along the lines of the Green party (God forbid) but that's a different debate. The BNP haven't stepped into the Labour vacuum at all, instead pandering to the 'immigrants get a free house/car/bag of cash' opinion that people like John Gaunt and Daily Mail journos like to promote as gospel. The BNP are voted for in areas like Burnley and Oldham because there's a mentality of 'them and us' in the minds of far too many White people. The idea that voting for the BNP is a 'protest vote' is just a screen for those people who do vote BNP to not have to admit to being racist. When the economy is falling to pieces its easy for a far-right party to gain support by pointing fingers at ethnic minorities - much like the Nazis did in 1930s Germany. The similarities are really quite startling
  8. People are seriously going to vote for the BNP? I'm a dirty student so I'm going to vote Lib Dems, though I'm on the electoral roll in Salford so anything other than a vote for Labour is a waste really.
  9. I'm 21 and I've been going to Latics since I was 11, and got a season ticket aged 14. I'll still be here next season, regardless of who is in charge or which league we're in. I might just not be as keen to wear my Latics shirt around campus
  10. He had one good season with the Lashers, I'm not interested. And don't call me Shirley.
  11. Are we forgetting Wayne Andrews? Seriously though, it absolutely, positively HAS to be Eyresy. Not only my favourite Latics player, but my favourite footballer of all time. Made my first few years watching Latics a complete joy, even when others in the team were decidedly average. Every kit I will ever buy will have '28' on it, in his honour. Sheridan is a second place for me, then Wellens third. Third only because it was one in the eye for all my Blackpool supporting friends. Not as good at Whitaker, mind.
  12. It's just annoying that no-one bothered to tell me at the time, having to get all the way to BP from Eccles isn't too easy without a car!
  13. The most annoying thing for me is that I bought a student ticket two days ago for £10. Slightly aggrieved to be honest.
  14. looks like he's been more inclined to take his beef dripping for a spin these days!
  15. Gregan will probably read that article and be so angry he'll crush the pint glass he's holding - 3/4 weeks out with hand ligament damage
  16. I'd score from a corner after the ball bounces off my backside then do an Adebayor slide in front of the main stand if I got any abuse (or just break down and ask to be subbed off in the 4th minute)
  17. Should I bring my boots? I used to play right-back for school..
  18. I think this guy's Dad is spot on - there really isn't much creativity in our side at all. Except Taylor; and it's been the same since Wellens left us. I'd also agree that the only two players in our team which could realistically step up are Eards and Taylor, I could see them easily progressing to Championship level. Hopefully with us! edit - I think with Lee in the side we could have a bit of creative balance on the wings, or even in the middle of the park.. but I couldn't make the game today so I'll have to wait and see!
