  1. I think Jim Fryatt also deserves a mention. Good old fashioned centre forward who rarely missed a header.
  2. Forget it! There isn't a man or woman out there that can perform the miracle needed to get us out of this without several million quid. So stop trying to find "the right man for the job" This person does not exist. All we need is money, money, money and we ain't getting that either! Paul Dickov, I will always admire you for trying to achieve the impossible.
  3. So what's the delay? I think getting the ground out of it's current state and not getting relegated are the 2 most important things to focus on this season.
  4. Being an out of touch exile, can anyone tell me when the new Broadway stand is being started? What's the latest setback or debacle? There must be one....
  5. I don't think Graham Bell was very tall either.
  6. Spot on. Rare to see a player as loyal to his club as Chris Taylor. It's very refreshing to see a player driven by loyalty and passion for his club and not money these days. Absolutely he is a Latics legend.
  7. I pretty much agree with this. Everything I have heard from Paul Dickov seems to be correct. They play with passion and don't deserve to be in the position they are in at the moment. I wasn't disappointed with the performance at all. Did wonder about Tounkare a bit though. He looks very frustrated and I thought not as effective as some. The empty seats was a huge worry and that kid who spent the second half snoring was a bit embarrassing. Over all it was great to see MY team on telly for once instead of those poncy, prima donnas from the greedy league, which is all we get out here in Aus. Name of the commentator escapes me now but I wondered if he was right when he said other teams have worked them out now. If so PD needs to change some tactics. Above all we need a lot of money but that's another story. Oh, and I didn't feel the need to beat up any 7 year olds when I got to work so all good!
  8. God no! I get up as late as possible on a work day. I have been here 23 years now and only seen them live once before. They beat City on that occasion so maybe that's an omen.
  9. Oh dear, I thought this would be the response. You're all right of course, I have been a Latics fan long enough to know what happens when they are on show. Tempted to stay in bed now but morbid curiosity might get the better of me. I need more persuasion one way or the other.
  10. that is the question. Will I be disappointed if I get up at 5.30am Australian Eastern Standard Time to watch Latics play Tranmere? Bearing in mind that if they lose I then have to go straight to work in a foul mood where I am likely to be quite mean to a bunch of 7 year olds all day because I will be feeling knackered for no good reason. Or will I be pleasantly surprised by their wonderful performance and therefore breeze through the day bouyed by optimism for the future. Answers urgewntly please as I need to get some kip very soon if the answer is the later. Thanks guys
  11. They haven't been paid because they are always paid on the 29th of the month. There is no 29th in February this year so no pay this month. Sorry boys!!!
  12. I have met Barry and was blown away by his passion for the club. The club needs him, he should stay, end of!
  13. Thank God it's sorted. Rooney and the scum. They belong together. Justice has been done. I was having nightmares about him signing for us! Hated him since I saw him trample on a city scarf during a derby game when Fergie subbed him. What an embarrassment to football he is.
