  1. Hi, I am creating this thread to update people on all the upcoming gig news and details at The Junction Inn. I will simply add to this thread as gigs are announced, rather than creating a new thread for each gig. That way, I won't constantly be starting new threads, people who are interested in such things can keep up to date and those who aren't can avoid it. The gigs start on the 20th July 2011 and the current listing is as follows: 20/07/2011 John Bramwell (I Am Kloot solo) - SOLD OUT 21/07/2011 John Bramwell (I Am Kloot solo) - 5 tickets remain (from the bar) 29/07/2011 Tom Hingley (ex Inspiral Carpets) 30/07/2011 Michele Stodart (The Magic Numbers)+ Ruby-Ann Patterson 05/08/2011 Colorama 19/08/2011 Danny Mahon + John Mackie in association with Brave Music Agency 09/09/2011 Chris Helme (ex Seahorses/The Yards) 01/10/2011 Romeo Stodart (The Magic Numbers) + Gabriel Lynch 25/11/2011 Mark Morriss (The Bluetones) All gigs are acoustic/stripped down with no drums. For a complete listing and to purchase tickets, please visit: www.wegottickets.com/junctioninn Each event also has a Facebook event page at: www.facebook.com/thejunctioninn All of the ticketed events will be on a Friday/Saturday, with free events on Thursdays and Sundays. The free events begin in August and I will post a list on here in the next few days...
  2. Not as it stands at present but as mentioned in the opening post, joint away trips with The Rifle Range, picking up and dropping off at both pubs, do seem to make sense. If anybody from the Rifle reads this and fancies getting in touch we'd be very happy to collaborate. The pubs are at opposite ends of town so it's not as though we're fighting over the same customers and joint efforts would make trips more cost effective for the punters. And most importantly of all, it might mean there a few more Latics present getting behind the lads on the road.
  3. You may have a point in the early part of the season. We'll keep an eye on it. Obviously, from where we are, we'd go Shaw Road/Salmon Fields and avoid the hell that is Mumps and King Street but the roads across the whole town are under pressure at the moment as a result of what is going on.
  4. We now have details of the trip to Silsden on the evening of Friday 8th July to watch Tony Philliskirk's youngsters in a pre-season friendly. Departure time: 5pm (free food from 4:30pm) Kick-off: 6:30pm Return after game to be back by around 9:30pm Price: £8 (subject to there being a minimum of sixteen people up for the trip) We will not normally run trips to youth team games but this is the first chance to see a Latics side of any description in the 2011/12 season.
  5. Hi all, We are planning on running buses to all Latics away games this season and also a free mini-bus down to the home games. Rather than starting a new thread for each trip, we will simply add to this thread, as the details of the trips become available. Starting as we mean to go on, we are looking to put on a bus to Silsden for the youth team friendly on Friday 8th July, as it is the first chance to see a team in a Latics strip in the 2011/12 season. Further details of that trip will follow shortly... The first confirmed trip is the annual visit to Holker Street, Barrow and the details are as follows: Date: 9th July 2011 Kick-off: 3pm Depart Junction Inn: Noon (free food from 11:30am) Return after the game Price: £18 This price is dependent on us getting sixteen people and includes a bit of free tucker before and after. If we can get more people, then the price will start to fall. For those of you on Facebook, here is the shizzle: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=156878914383215&ref=ts#!/event.php?eid=156878914383215 If you fancy this trip, give us a call on 0161 633 2759 and ask for Mike or Mark, email junctioninn@hotmail.co.uk, pop into the pub or simply post below. If anybody at The Rifle Range fancies doing joint trips to the less popular away games this season, to reduce the cost, please just give us a shout. For the longer away trips, we will put on a bit of free breakfast and even some sandwiches etc on our return, starting with the Barrow trip. HOME GAMES The free mini-bus will depart The Junction Inn as the whistle goes on the lunchtime televised game(s). We will return from Boundary Park immediately after the game, to be back in the pub in plenty of time for the tea-time live game(s).
  6. We will be showing this fight live in The Junction Inn (bottom of Ripponden Road). Free entry. Here is the Facebook shizzle: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=181884725203098 We hope to see a few of you in for it...
  7. Management (i.e. me and him) are thrilled to announce that The Junction Inn will host the after-party for Craig Watson following his British welterweight title fight on 16th July. We will be running a free bus to and from the event at Oldham Community Leisure Centre and tickets for the bout are available at the bar. Craig is completely confident that he will be bringing the belt to the party! Here is a link to an event we have created on Stalkbook: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/event.php?eid=138068659602692
  8. Due to overwhelming demand, a second John Bramwell (I Am Kloot) gig has been announced. It is the night after the sold-out first date and tickets are available at the link below: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/122283
  9. The Tom Hingley gig is now on sale online: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/121930
  10. I'm the tall one, fella. I hope that all was ok for you...
  11. And I think you mean 'ends'. Blooday predictive text, huh? Cheers though, I have edited...
  12. The other two gigs mentioned in the opening post of this thread are both at the weekend. There is loads more to be announced over the next couple of weeks....all at weekend. The deal for next season is that there will be a free minibus leaving The Junction Inn as the lunchtime Premier League game ends. There will be a list up in the pub in the fortnight leading up to home games, but I will also take names on here. Obviously, people will have to be supping in here for a while before the game. It's not just a free bus for non-customers The bus will then bring people back to the pub in time for the tea-time Premier League kick-off.
  13. Tickets for the John Bramwell (I Am Koot solo) gig are now onsale online: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/120658
  14. The Junction Inn is recruiting for team members for the following sports: Monday: Darts (& crib and dominoes*) Tuesday: Pool (& crib and dominoes*) Wednesday: Quiz Sunday: Football (afternoon) Please email junctioninn@hotmail.co.uk indicating which sport you would like to play or, indeed, if you have any questions... We will be entering the redtooth.com poker league on a Thursday from mid-August and I will update this thread nearer that time. *There is no compulsion to play crib or dominoes, if you just want to play darts/pool. However, we do need to raise crib and dominoes teams in order to gain entry into the respective leagues.
  15. Are you, perhaps, thinking of a different boozer? There's plenty of room in The Junction Inn...
  16. I don't even need to consult with the roadie, because I am that person. A plus one, is it?
  17. By the way, due to venue size, there is no guestlist at any of the shows, so please don't ask. Sorry.
  18. The Junction Inn has now started booking artists, and gigs will begin in July of this year. The first confirmed artists and ticket prices are: 20th July 2011 John Bramwell (I Am Kloot) £10 29th July 2011 Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) £10 30th July 2011 Michele Stodart (Magic Numbers) £9 All performances will be acoustic. John and Tom will play solo shows, whilst Michele is bringing a second guitarist and violin player. Tickets will go onsale online via www.wegottickets.com but we will always give a one week period of exclusivity to locals. Tickets for these gigs are onsale at the bar now. Online sales carry a 10% charge.
  19. That's a fantastic offer, thank you. I haven't logged in here for a few days, so apologies, I certainly wasn't ignoring it. I have PMd you...
  20. It was a good night and it was great to see a load of familiar faces. Thank you to all who came down. We have taken a tenancy, so we are tied for barrels but free of tie for wines, spirits, mixers and soft drinks. Also, we have been allowed to join SIBA, so we can choose from a list of forty brewers and will be starting off with Greenfield Brewery's Dobcross Bitter, next week.
  21. The launch night is tonight, tonight, tonight. Come along and meet Paul and Gerry in a relaxed environment. 7pm onwards... It'd be great to see some familiar faces http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=208868459144809
  22. Have sorted it, thanks Tom. Here is a Facebook link, if any of you fancy sharing it... http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/event.php?eid=208868459144809
