The sad thing is I really don't care if we win on Saturday now.
I don't want the signing of Evans to be rewarded All I hope is that on his debut he gets injured and we never see him again.
I hope he gets injured during training, career threatening!

Petition signed. Comments made on their facebook page. Comments made on here, on my opposition to this and email sent to the club. I have protested my opposition to this, will see what tomorrow brings!

My message to the club! I bit my tongue when this post went around the first time. But now like many, I feel the need to post my opinion on this. If the club signs Ched Evans my 30 years as a fan of this club is finished! It just shows how much you regard your fanbase! I am surprised that LJ would sanction this as he is a father to a daughter himself. The majority of the fans don't want him here. Look at this forum! I for one was against Lee Hughes playing for us, but at least he showed remorse for what he did. Evans does not! If the club has no moral compass then I do. I will be excising it depending on tomorrows events!

Reading the Sky Sports report, it seems patently obvious that Brentford have changed their minds on the 'agreement' I guess LJ will have to put it down as a lesson learned, Don't trust Londoners!
Agreed!
-
The loan back was gentleman's agreement, not contractually apart of the deal, so it won't have any bearing on the fee or any other terms of the deal.
Thanks for the info.
-
Would this change the fee agreed or any other terms of the transfer, that would be more to Latics benefit?
-
Given the rude manner of some posters I do not want to try and enter into a resonable debate on the points raised. There are very good reasons why the transfers in question have gone ahead.
What I will do is arrange for the manager to have one of our meetings sooner than we might have anticipated and we can tackle your areas of concern.
I will also try and arrange for Simon Corney to be present and perhaps those who have made some unfortunate remarks might want to consider attending and making your points in person to him.
We all enjoy healthy debate on matters affecting our club.!!!!!!!!
Barry
Hi Barry,
I understand that fans are not going to know everything that goes on at the club.
I also understand the reasons why some transfers remain undisclosed.
But a lot of fans myself included get a bit puzzled.
When the club cries poverty to the fan base, one minute and then are selling our best players for POUNDLAND (dont mean to be rude when I say that) prices the next, even though they are on fairly long term contracts. I can't understand why we can't be more like Crewe with our best players and sell them for a price that allows the opportunity for the club to have enough funds to better itself both on and off the pitch. Without LJ having to beg borrow and steal for players. Why is the clubs assets valued so low compared to other clubs at our level?
You can PM me with your reply.

Maybe we could do with freeing up Adam's wages. As it seems he doesn't earn them.

YMCA! Its fun to stay at the YMCA! It looks like chaddy is doing that dance. I've seen worse kits, I won't be buying it. PInk is not really my colour.
-
Didn't he go to Portugal while things where thin?
Stuck with us until his contract was up.
You can't blame him but that is not thick and thin, is it?
Stuck with us ,prior and during administration. He left once we were safe and that his contract was up. He could of walked before then, like quite a few did. Not that I blame them. Because you need to pay the mortgage. He didn't engineer a move during a relegation battle, like a certain overrated captain did.

Philliskirk
Urmson
On the playing front, names maybe just a bit short of 'legends':
Gary Kelly
Duxbury
Jobson
Hallworth
I would have Jobson down as legend. He should of played for England if it were not for the FA being anti small club. Philliskirk for dedication and Gordon Lawton also for dedication.
-
I would agree that Dowie should be in contention instead of Sheridan. But I voted for Joe, no contest! He is Mr OLDHAM ATHLETIC! He is the standard that every fan looks too for success.
-
1) Earl- See Palmer1 post.
2) Milligan- Again see Palmer1 post.
3)Murray- Stuck with us through thick and thin.

Rick Holden, when he lobbed/curled over Schmeichel from a free kick over 25 yards out. Season 93/94 Boundary Park, it was very near the byeline too!
-
Did you mean?
Yes that's the one, I have that away shirt when JD sports was the sponsor and I also have that home shirt with the BOVIS sponsor. Talk about catalogue pose.
-
Am I the only one who misses a Red away kit?
No. We were a good team when we had the Red away kits. My favourite kit was the red and white lace up from the premier league years. But I must admit I do like the current tangerine kit.
-
Couldn't give a monkeys!Sorry to rake up the past, but the tactical genius has found himself a job as assistant to Orange Man after nearly two years out of work. What a team they'll make. Rumour has it that barriers have already been erected across the half way line at the training ground to keep the full backs where they belong. Southend fans are going to love what he brings to the table.
-
What people are forgetting is that he watched and learned from his father a very good lower league manager. Who has just got a club smaller than latics into the CHAMPIONSHIP. So I wouldn't go as far as to say he is a complete novice in regards to dealing with players. I am not panicking yet. There is something about LJ that makes me think he may come good for our club.
-
Yes I am concerned! The man's a crook! He is in the same league a Chris Moore!
-
-
Absolutely! So am I right in thinking that anyone too young to witness the good times of the late 80s early 90s is not allowed to give any players legendary status? ;)

Perfectly well put sly! This is exactly where I'm at now. I have started to put away all my memorabilia of Latics, I hate those associated with this signing! Because one of the first things I put away was my Granddad's Latics scarf and it's one of the few memories I have of him! I got quite angry and upset at this!
