Maybe we are offering 3 times as many cans of mckeowans and a bottle of scotch as a win bonus.
-
Its because of reasons 2-5 is why fans do reason 1.Here's mine, will admit alot have been influenced by Latics but they are also applicable to many other clubs too.
1) Fans living in the past, obsessed with the nostalgia of a bygone era, unwilling to move on and basing their unrealistic expectations on what was achieved in this era.
2) Clubs which adopt a 'get by' mentality or a 'survival' mentality as opposed to a move forward mentality.
3) When a supposed 'professional' football club is run in such an amateurish fashion from top to bottom and tries to do everything 'on the cheap' at the expense of the professional image of their respective football club.
4) Bitter Fans, in particular those who are bitter about players moving on from their own club to better themselves elsewhere, and those whose love for their own team is eclipsed by their hatred for another (Everton fans and Man City fans guilty parties here in particular).
5) Watching a team set their stall out to 'not lose' .

Wayne Rooney and overated players!

Maybe we should copyright "The Real Latics".

It's called the EPL here in Canada and in the states. Yes it bugs me as well.A thousand times yes. I do not understand why anyone in England would call it the EPL but it is becoming more and more common to see it being used. Probably another example of what's wrong with football these days but more likely just something that shouldn't bother me in the slightest but does.

If your going to include McCarthey and Winjhard, then why not Darren the Bear Beckford?Pick TWO in TOTAL please...

Shame on you. Jobbo and Earl for me, followed closely by Fleming. Can't believe I missed Andy Holden - boll

Barlow followed by Pointon, any of the players who took us to Wembley, old first division and kept us up in the Premier league. I would deem as the greatest players to put on a latics shirt!
-
Rick Holden by a country mile, the greatest winger to grace both plastic and the grass of BP! Along with Gunnar who also tormented quite a few full backs, remember watching him tear England apart in Oslo. Me, my Dad and Grandad were that fed up with England, we ended up cheering for Gunnar.
-
Really John Sheridan! Nick Henry and Neil Redfearn by a country mile, they played for latics 2 leagues higher than Sheridan did! Followed by Milligan.
-
I think Andy Barlow had a spell at right back too? Although Craig Fleming would be a close second to Irwin, just because he kept a young Ryan Giggs very quiet on a couple times we played United.

Agreed if we are going to go into politics and blame governments then its more likely to be the legacy of New Labour! If true, it's our generation to blame, because these kids were born under Tony Blair or at a push the fag end of John Major. We must have brutalised them during a lifetime in which they experienced nothing but Labour government.
-
Maggie's ':censored: you' generation coming home to roost.....
Judging by the age of the kids they were more likely to be from Tony Blair's entitled generation Y not!

I have disagreed with SC in the past and have vented like everybody has with the frustrations about the club. But there is no place for this kind of evil! As Prozac said these people are not fans!

Thank you to those who attended, really enjoyed reading your posts. I feel a lot about this appointment than I did 24 hours ago. It sounds as though he has done his homework on the club, players and fans. And pretty nailed what was wrong with the club right now. Good luck LJ, welcome to the mad house!
-
I did not want him out and we have been paying for that mistake ever since and today's appointment will add to that.I'll give everyone Ronnie Moore and fair play. But how many of you then wanted him out?
-
I would like to nominate prozac. Good idea Barry on the new manager meeting some of the fans.
-
If this Lee Johnson gets the managers job, it just sums up the state of the club right now.
-
You'll never beat Earl Barrett!

Me too, registered my support and emailed the planning officer. Basically stating that it's about bloody time this council supported it's towns professional football club. Although I had to use my parents address to register as they would not accept a Canadian address.Bumpage
So out of over 4,000 fans, and over 150 regular users on here (must be more?) only
singe
HAve confirmed they signed it.
A few others commenting here probably have (can you confirm?)
So I can create a Planning Support Hall of Fame.

Not a good choice, he wasn't very good at Swindon nor Motherwell.Sky Sports News @Skyspoortsnews
BREAKING: #SSN understands Inverness Assistant Manager Maurice Malpas is favourite for the Oldham Atheltic vacancy. #OAFC

His managerial inexperience showed in the end. But the majority of the blame or responsibility has to fall on the players. They let him down. In regards to the next manager for me its either Dowie or Phil Brown.
