  1. That's ok, but no one should make unsubstantiated accusations.

I'm always open to opinion but interested to know why he's personally against Corney and what more he expects Cormey to do than he's currently doing?!

All I was saying was that he was entitled to an opinion no matter what frequency his support is. But I agree with you both in regards to personal attacks and accusations without any substance. That should really be left off the forum. I think the situation in regards to the running of the club can be discussed without resorting to it getting personal.
  2. Never met Derek but he has every right to voice an opinion on a team I know he has supported many years. I am aware of many older fans that have simply walked away and couldnt care less. At least Derek does.

The club needs to pull back and keep the likes of Derek not make him think I'm not missing much. This lot should be good enough and Div 2 is unthinkable. We cant moan about losing support with the results. 16 defeats in 29

FFS Yard Dog .......????? Whats that all about. Its a shame we lose fans that are badly needed.

I agree, all you fans giving Derek grief for staying away and then coming back to support his team and voicing his opinion like we all do. Should be ashamed of yourselves. By having ago at his opinion this is really going to encourage the fans that the club needs to come back to BP.
  3. Hope it's not Phil Brown, we'll start with all that long ball nonsense. Billy Davis is a good shout though

I don't care as long as it gets results. It's this kind of attitude from the fans that forced the club into the mistake of sacking Ronnie Moore, thus holding the club back and into the state it's in now. So for the fans who are more concerned about the style of football rather than the results and climbing up the table. Your the ones holding the club back. I think Phil Brown would not be a bad shout.
  4. Not exactly ridiculous to compare at all - basing it on 8 games is perfectly acceptable, especially the Penney one.

Sheridan is even better to compare to as we were safe as you say, the manager still lost his job.

So why so patience with Dickov?

Because back then we could afford to sack shez, but now we have no money? So we are stuck with the current situation, until money comes in from new investment or new ownership. Cost! Its the only logical explanation.
  5. Absolute shocking performance. No one has a clue. I cant think of anything positive from sitting there tonight freezing my nuts off. Not one bit of excitement. The worse I have ever seen. How on earth a manager with his record can keep his job is beyond me. I don't think it helps when the players don't seem to give a toss. Things have got to change quickly as I am not wasting any more money watching that crap. Some of the play tonight was that poor, It's embarrassing

Because we either can't afford to sack him or lack the ambition to sack him? That would involve taking a risk and we know the club management in recent years don't like to take risks, unless the fans give them no choice.
  6. How? I'm sure you could pretty easily cobble together a video of Wes or Furman looking like world beaters for six minutes, probably longer. Hell, I reckon with enough time you could knock together at least ninety seconds of Matty Wolfenden looking good (credits included).

I can just picture the video that you would put together for Furman, the art in the sideways pass or in Wes's case the art of loosing your head when your team needs you and get sent off.
  7.

This for me is why he has to go and tonight, 20 minutes effort is seemingly enough for the worst manager statistically in our history, time to STOP making excuses for this deluded fraud….

"I told to the players I feel for them, but don’t feel sorry for them as we cannot afford to feel sorry for ourselves. Life is all about challenges and so is football.

"And if the players show me the effort, character and commitment they did today, we will be fine."

We had ten behind the ball for around 70 minutes, we stood off put in half arsed challenges and left Smith so isolated if it wasn't so infuriating it would be funny. All this against a very poor Coventry side, i'm sick of losing and conceding impetus to the :censored:e that this league serves up week in week out. Ronnie Moore hasn't a pot to piss in yet his team of kids and loanees are top of the league because they have a go instead of aiming to get to HT 0-0 every bloody week!

We have a paper thin squad and most of them may be pussies, but they are better than relegation fodder and that unfortunately is staring us in the face…..

Agreed. He will not get the sack because our piss poor club management don't have the balls or the ambition to do it.
  8. For those mentioning Ronnie lets not get carried away, we where :censored: when he was here, it was crap football and not many where happy

he currently manages a team at the top of the league but there is a long way to go and he was sacked twice (once by his current club) before his little bit of "success" this season

Having said that all this team needs is someone with his organisational skills who will get a team working!

Good luck Ronnie but you are still a tosser!!

*tranmere to lose in the play off semis

Well at least his tactics got results unlike the shower of :censored: we have now!

  9. Great result today!

Although I am frustrated in there lack of motivation and effort to do this week in, week out.

    Especially Simpson!

Hopefully this will be the kick up the ass they need to do this.

And not just the attitude of the modern lower league footballer to only show there talents when there under a bigger spotlight!

But well done all the same!

  10. sharp did not strip the club, of yours chums! he was ordered to totally clear, the decks! by the then board of j.w.lees- the guy, never stood, a remote chance.... and became the first, of the many fall guys.

He had a good 6-9 months of doing something with my chums as you put it. But failed! Before they had there clear out(some were still there after 6-9 months Jobson, Henry, Halle). Need I remind you that my chums achieved more for our club than any other player has done past or present.
  11. I have got to the point where I really dont care what style of football we play as long as we have a manager who can get results consistantly so that we can challenge at the right end of the table

I draw the line at Martin Allen and the style he likes especially when we played his Cheltenham side but I will up to try anything else now, we cant be any worse can we?

We should of been at that point when Ronnie Moore was in charge!
  12. Supported Latics for 24 years and I remember the time when Sharp was manager, worst manager during my time and possibly the worst in the history of the club! The reason for this was he had the majority of the players still at the club from the Royle era and did nothing with them except give them free transfers for other clubs to benefit from and near enough put us to where we are now! His time as manager still annoys me to this day and the fact he released my favourite player of all time "Rick Holden" when Rick still had a lot to offer! Then went on to replace him with either Paul Rickers or Toddy Orlygson, who were not in his class! The fact that Sharp is now a tour guide at Everton says a lot for his management skills! :ranting:

  13. What is Gordon going on about Latics showed that pride by scoring to make it 4 1. :censored: off will ya!

He is just towing the club line, remember 2 seasons ago they made Dean Brill sound like Gianluigi Buffon in every match report on the club website! When we all knew he was crap. With comments like that from Gordon is why we have a group of fans that are the blinkered brigade.
  14. I thought we shot ourselves in the foot getting rid of him. His hoofball wasn't attractive but people have got to remember we were and still are a league 1 club and not in the Premier league. If it was getting results, which there was the potential at the time then who bloody cares how we play! I don't care how we play as long as it gets results, which equals promotion, more money for the club and more fans. Not the piss pot predicament that we are in now.
