Once we work out a way of subduing that cup final mentality in the opposition we will be onto something
The attitude should be that the whole 'Cup final mentality' of the opposition should be a compliment to Latics and the club, not a fucking handicap.

That's the spirit!
We've thrown in a number of stinkers this season and on numerous occasions have gone on to pull of wins it can happen today.
Of course they can win, they just have to behave like a team of footballers and not incompetent strangers.
It's 50/50 really, isn't it? -

We are due a win I think we will get one tomorrow. I'm hoping last week was a slap in the face for a few of the players.
Or water off a duck's back, more likely.

Be in the book of revelations if we go up this season
That's a testament to your faith in the team.

Rochdale about to win the lottery by the sounds of it....
Sir Peter Ogden (born and raised in Rochdale) about to buy them through The Ogden Trust.
He's worth about £500mil...
He might be worth £500M but it doesn't mean he will plough endless cash into the club, it seems he has a stability plan similar to the Rothwells.

If he's averaged a goal every two games mainly in L1 & 2 wouldn't you expect that ratio to improve down here?
Not if he got a better quality of service in the higher leagues, which I suspect he did. We can all speculate about player-targets the club needs, getting them to sign is another thing altogether. Some of the deadwood will still be here next season.

Dorking beat them 4-1. Halifax 3-1 up. Are they on the beach? Was last Saturday actually quite a bad result?
We was their cup final, the tossers.
Predicting Halifax 3-4 Chesterfield. -

I’ve seen in him countless videos where he is smiling doing his community bit/off field stuff. I’ve seen countless pictures on Twitter of him having his picture taken with kids/young Latics fans before the game. Unless you know the man not the player on a Saturday afternoon you have no idea if Norwood is a miserable person. You’re just guessing he is miserable because he has on field persona- lots of players do. Roy Keane was horrible on the pitch, and drove standards, but all the United players said he was really funny in the dressing room.
The stories being fabricated without any knowledge of the situation or the person is unbelievable.
Fucking social media [and I obviously use it] must be one of the most misused technical tools we have at our disposal. Norwood is a professional, will pose with the fans and partake in off-field duties. What more can we ask of him..apart from putting the ball in the opponents net? I couldn't give a fuck about his demeanour on the pitch as it may help to put the fear of god up the opposition.
I admit, I reacted negatively to a post regarding Norwood a short while ago but after reading it back, realised I had been taken-in by the very social media shite I hate so much. There we go, we are all susceptible at times.
The point is, before the all-consuming media hatred washed over society, a brief paragraph may have been all we got in the 'Chron. No dissection, no insinuations or calling into question someone's character, just a brief mention and possibly the reason why. Then we all forgot about it, rather than being like a fucking dog with bone. -

Who do you think AndyB2 is? Surely he is a renaming of someone who has been on before. Someone who talks/posts so much would not just have 157 posts.
Any ideas?
I don't have an issue with people having more than one username, it's when they start talking to themselves that worries me. I didn't watch the game today as I am in the middle of a health issue and a family loss but from what I have read and the gaffer's post-match interview, it sounds like the lads gave a good performance.
I called a 2-2 draw earlier on this thread, shame Dallas couldn't convert his chance but that's football for you. Anyone know the attendance by any chance? -

Fuck me this is a depressing read.
Are you surprised?

Emphasising the strange ambiguity of this league, Wealdstone, one place above the relegation zone and having four games in hand on Southend, would be in tenth and above Southend had they played and won them all.
-
I'm still plumping for a draw, which will frustrate the hell out of Chesterfield, although I'm confident the playing style will give everybody a sore neck.

Chesterfield will win the title at BP on Saturday if they win and Barnet drop points.
They won't win.

We were eight points behind Bromley at the time of his dismissal. We are eight points behind Bromley now.
Makes you think.
We've matched them performance wise?

No surprise though.
Seventh place probably the most we can hope for or a miraculous run of wins. -

Can't be any worse than the stats from Saturday, can it?

,,we are an above average football team in the national league..
Who play teams like Kidderminster, who then make us look bang average.
Figure that one out. -

Right, I'm gonna say it. I find these podcasts much more interesting after we've been beaten...
I think they offer a good counterbalance to the hysteria [me included] of the forums.

It's difficult I know but maybe 442 attacking;
Instructions, compete, pass, move, create, score goals.
Hudson
Sachdev
Sutton
Raglan or Hobson
Kitching
Atherton
Gardner
Conlon
Walker
Fondop
Garner or Norwood.
I would certainly give that line-up/formation a try.
Pace and experience. -
A relief that I don't have the stress of yet another hoof-ball horror show and no confidence that pitch will ever be fit to play football on it. Could be out of the playoff zone by the end of play tomorrow.

My line up would be 442 with 2 wingers including one from the youths as I think he's good enough.
I was referring to personnel, as you mentioned Mellon keeps picking the same players. I'm struggling to think who we have which will make a difference.
-
34 minutes ago, BP1960 said:
So why is he picking the same players then?
Go on then, BP, name an alternative line-up [subs included] without any youth team additions.

Got sent some messages about Norwood says he hates it here and was saying I was playing in front of 18k last year In front of officials…
If true, he needs to think about how much money he chugging in compared to a lot of hard working people and get the fuck on with it.

In which case, it's not a 'cup final' as is being touted but just an easy, winnable game.
