  1. O ver a hundred years of history going back to the days of Pine Villa

L ooking forward to the games, expectant, watching the occasional thriller

D ave Penney rolls in and within a season

H undreds are boycotting with very good reason

    A pathy reigns,no commitment,nobody cares

M ust admit, used to get excited as I climbed the Main stand stairs

    A tmosphere's gone,three sides a disaster.

    T alk of new stadium,merely a plaster

H anging on to 19th spot by a very thin thread

L ose to Gills on Saturday time for his head

E very game this season seems to hit a new low

T rying to summon the enthusiasm to get up and go.

    I love my latics,always will

C all time on this clown he's making me ill.

Good stuff...send a copies to Simon Corney, Alan Hardy and the 'Clown' himself.

  2. Could have disastrous consequences.

Firstly, a boycott to get rid of a manager? Are our fans gonna embarrass themselves even further this season? Talks of petitions, marches, and now boycotts! It's hilarious. Our many managers have we had in our history? Yet we're still here in the 3rd highest league. Come on, let's have some common sense please.

If for some reason we get say a Macclesfield-esque gate on Saturday, well done, we've pushed our club ever closer to administration. Who's gonna run to our rescue straight away when TTA decide enough's enough? They're not gonna fund us, and a takeover this late in a season?

    Good idea that.

The strongest way to protest is with your feet.

Pi** poor crowds are a testimony to that fact.

Whether or not the Directors will act upon that is another matter.

  3. How can this club have a future under Penny.

The team that finished tonight contained only one signing of his and 2 Loan signings.

All the other players were here before he was and yet he has signed countless numbers who are either injured or just not good enough.

Penny is not good enough and should go now whilst we still have 9 games to save ourselves.

Even if we change the manager, I think we still go down.

The only consolation is, that we will hopefully have someone who can assess the damage, make the right moves during the Summer and who can get us back out of the basement league.

    I'm not holding my breath.

  4. Just wind it back and think about it. Rooney is the shining star..the media darling..the great white hope............we must have Rooney FOR THE WORLD CUP.

The world cup is a sham......has been for maybe 20 years......money making event for FIFA and TV. This years world cup was awarded to SA for all the wrong reasons.

ooh FIFA awards it on the anti apartheid/racist card. No considration for security..travel for fans..hotel accomodation etc.............Personally I have no interest in it. Rooney misses it so what..he is 24.

.he has 2 more to go at. Martin TYler has 8 years more to ejaculate on his MAn U bedspread. Rooney doesnt play ok..Crouch comes in (most underrated player since Adam was a lad)..gives them something diffrent..with 2 wingers who knows. UNited winning nothing is good for English football period.

It's the typical pre-World Cup nerves for me.

I actually love the competition and the chance to see different cultures and footballing styles pitted against one another.

Yes, I see your point re: Crouch.

Sometimes, I actually think I would enjoy the World Cup more, if England wasn't in it.

  5. "Captain" Kirk was one of the few bright spots for me. Lee had another good game. Abbots' first was a good finish - just shows what he can do when he actually hits the ball cleanly for once.

Other than that, the only time we looked threatening was when we went 1-3 down. We opened them up time and time again when we actually played attacking football. But, as always, the team were only allowed to attack when the game was virtually lost.

Lomax didn't have a glorious return either. Got savaged by their left winger who looked very dangerous.

But hey! Don't worry guys! It wasn't a must win game!!! What are we all so despondant about??!!!

Sheesh.........anyone would think we're in danger of the drop!!!!!

Was that the guy on loan from Hudds?

  6. LAtics fan since 1960 although I cannot make it these days. Its become sad that I was more delighted with BAyern Winning and Rooney limping off than I was upset with losing tonight.

The sooner DP goes the better...............replacement................gregan with dux and philliskirk as assistants

As an England fan (I hope), why would you be happy with Rooney limping off?

The Utd loss, I can agree with.

  7. its a start though may even bring a positive attacking manager in!! we can stay up but TTA must act NOW!!!!!!

For that to happen, surely somebody would have to be already lined up?

Last year Royle had nine games to get us back in for promotion. This year a new manager would have nine games to keep us in this division.

It's a big ask and I just can't see anybody stepping up to the mark...unless they can persuade Duxbury to give it a go.

  8. I remember going to the football, enjoying it and coming home and waiting eagerly for the next match, even if we lost. That's it. And this wasn't all that long ago either.

Now it's all about Trusts, roles within the club, income streams (I hate that term), development, planning, chief executives, and marketing. It's like a who's who of bull:censored: bingo.

Football has never been so dull and unimaginative.

    Especially at Boundary Park.

The advent of the Internet has ruined our enjoyment of almost everything.

  9. shame we couldnt sign any of them but the reasons given were fair enough - injury put BWP back into the first team and brandys agent wanted too much.

I still maintain that Brandy was not the answer to our problems...we don't need a Premiership 'Starlet' poncing about at our club when we are trying to stave off relegation, even less so when said 'Starlet' doesn't even know where the net is either.

We are stuck with what we've got, so let's just hope for the best.

  10. Fair point Wardie

I ahve to say, my wife is an expert in her field, even though she is bringing up our son at the moment so not currently working.

but even she moumentally misunderstands what I say about work and the people involved and gets i tall muddled up.

So coudl the haridresser have mixed it up, quite easily, even if the story as told is cler, that is an interprestaiton that is 3rd hand.

    Quite easily...I agree.

It becomes like Chinese whispers and the original 'snippet' of information (gossip?) becomes something else entirely.

  11. Some really good suggestions and ideas, that will be taken on board. Thank you.

With Regards to half time, I agree that we don't do anything and their should be some form of game / entertainment to warm us all up. We had the Crossbar challenge last year, are we thinking something similar? Some form of Skills school type thing? So, if anyone has any specific ideas I will happily take them to the powers that be and see if we can get something sorted.

Next Time we have a returning legend for the half time draw there will be more questions asked.

I also know the club have some new PA equipment and hopefully all will be fine on Tuesday with the speakers in The Chaddy and RRE.

Thanks Broady and that's good news about the P.A. System.

Are you any good at football.

  12. This accusation has got to be put in context.

    It could be true.

It might not be quite true.

It might be he has agreed to play on, still his decision.

So what is in it for Chris taylor to publicly (to a loose tongues hairdresser) reveal this.

    Either:

    1)It is completely true

    2) Cover himself becasue of his poor form

    3) Give (the fans) a reason to leave

    4) He did not listen to the Consultant int he first place, and want to cover himself if he writes to the Club Dr.

So not as clear cut in my eyes.

I don't think it is Taylor himself who has told the hairdresser, it's his mum or his girlfriend, probably unbeknown to Taylor himself.

Therefore, he has nothing to gain from it...apart from a red face.

  13. we should come out to Yesterday by the Beatles, that would reflect the BP atmosphere

    B.P. in a nutshell.

Gone are the days of dancing to Whigfield's 'Saturday Night' in the Rochdale Stand, the cries of "Beach Balllll!" as the inflatable ball bounced over the crowd (I even remember someone bringing an inflatable skeleton into the ground), struggling to find a seat and having a bloody scoreboard to watch the half-time scores on.
