Super Sean!
Probably went in off his arse.
-
abbott. maybe furman, jacobson, brill has improved but apart from that, no
What worries me, is that we can't even seem to capitalise on the 'new signing' effect, where said debutant usually scores.
And now we have to rely on an aging defender to stick it in the net.
-
im not a penney out person but i think that he has to start telling the team to shoot on site whenever they get the chance and one of them will have to go in.
no more 'pretty' build up DP, we need goals
Not an 'Outer' either, but regardless of who the manager is, when the team regularly comes out with shot-shy performances, you have to question the tactics employed, the motivational skills and the validity of the appointment.
We lose today, and the TTA have some serious thinking to do and have to act swiftly on their decision.
-
We're in massive trouble if we don't get something out of this match.
No attempts says it all.
I think if we go through this whole match without an attempt on goal, then Penney must be shown the door, because he is clearly devoid of any motivational skills and must be guilty of employing negative tactics.
-
Clearly we have a game plan that excludes attacking football. The guy is killing us.
New striker...same old crap!
-
Yeah, trust Hudds to go off the boil!
I can't believe how we've had 82% possession and had no shots at goal, while Exeter have managed 4 attempts!!!
Dodgy stats?

The guy in the washing machine looks like Alan Hardy.
-
We also have to take into account the "prolific striker comes to Boundary park and can't score for toffee" effect.
I predict........nobody in on loan.

I've head several people say this, but what I can't quite grasp, is how people assume that our players are suddenly going to find their scoring touch in March when it's been sorely lacking all season. Time after time we're saying the same things "we played quite well, but couldn't find the net" why will that suddenly change against the lower teams? We should have had at least 2 points from the last three games; possibly even 4, but yet again, we can't find the net.
If we win even half of the games in March, I'll be very surprised. I just cannot see it happening.
Good call.
I can see a lot of 0-0 scorelines coming up when we play the rest of the "canon fodder" around us.
Mind you, some of them seem able to score a few goals, Stockport managed four today.
-
Yeah, I mean his two goals for Stockport last season were pretty impressive....especially his one against Leicester.
What about his 17 goals (so far) for 'Dale this season?
-
This result was pretty expected.
Bring on Exeter.
March is the month.
That relegation is confirmed?
-
Did we really expect any other outcome?
Still, it was only 0-1, probably a good result in the manager's books.
-
Won't happen this season.
Glad to see O'Grady's found his level though.
Which will, in all probability, be higher than that of any of our players next season.
I fully expect 'Dale to continue with their good form if promoted and O'Grady to carry on where he left off.
-
How long will it be before O'Grady has scored more than Latics?
2-3 weeks.
-
Of course, he "wasn't good enough for league 1", which is exactly where he will be next season.
It's infuriating that we can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.
Mind you...he wouldn't have scored that many with the negative tactics and lack of quality on the wings that Latics employ.

All gone quiet at the council? What's new? The council should be actively talking to the club when the charity commission came out with their findings so far. It's beginning to look like another huge cockup from Oldham MBC.
It's not going to happen again? Isn't it?
It's the one thing you can rely on with this club at the moment.
-
This is League One...over and out!
-
He's good on crosses.
-
Same old :censored:e from someone who grew up watching Oldham on the rise and now cant handle the fact we are a league 1 team.
That doesnt mean things are good at the moment, just not as bad as some make out.
30 years ago, we were in Div 2, it wasn't until 90/91 that we got promoted...so he didn't exactly start when we were "on the rise". In fact, if you count the "Pinch Me Season", promotion and three short years in the top flight, then 5 out of 30 years ain't much to write home about.
He's right, the stadium is a three-sided :censored: hole, where you can't have a pint or a ciggie and you may as well have to reserve a pie to ensure you get one at H/T, because the penny pinching means it's better to order too little than too much.
Why the should we be expected to shell out £20.00 to sit in a badly facilitated ground and watch the current dross on offer? Obviously, plenty of fans are asking themselves that very question and are voting with their feet.
You tell yourself that things aren't that bad if you want to, but they are. The TTA don't have the finances to deliver the dream at BP, the council haven't got the resources to help out local sport and the town of Oldham, in the light of other towns in the Northwest, is fast becoming a deprived area.

With £56 million?
Sort out the family. £3 million
Investment. £2 million
Apartment in Boston. £1 million
New house. £1 million
New cars. £250k
Pay of kids' student loans. £30k
Set up fund for Save the Children. £200k
Invest in the Latics. £2 million
Leaves about £46.5 million to mess around with.
Is it possible to blow that amount? I suppose it is.
-
Great shout. He'll run rings round the opposition.
Yeah, but he'll start off on the wrong foot with the fans.
-
with 15 mins left we had 60% of the possesion and swindon had 4 shots on target.
we cant have been that bad.
Unfortunately, their 4 shots went in.
-
A fantastic result and let's hope we can keep the momentum going against Swindon on Tuesday.
Well done lads.
