  1. My take on the statement is that the stadium is now crucial The following comment is the most improtant of the whole statement: - "Our business plan for the new stadium is a self supporting development and it was never going to be the case of having to rely on an individual putting money in. The whole purpose was to build something that generated enough income to fund all its running costs." So basically we have 12 months to sort teh satdium issues and start building. That happens then we should be ok. It doesnt happen and its going to be bucket time.
  2. Its a pity that he aint got it then. roylearmy was correct and 1st to post
  3. If you had heard his interview on GMR last night you might have a better understanding. To give you an idea of Ritchie's current knowledge of our team having been to several times this season, here is a corker. It went something like. "Gregan has been out injured for a good part of the season and they have missed his experience." surely anyone who has been to bp several times recently would know that Greegs is our only ever present. he has not missed a large oart of the season Gernaral Franco Bunn for me please
  4. i feel a moderated edit is about to take place. knows why though
  5. Every Friday you pick your kid up from School so that you can go to the shop and buy an Oldham shirt? wow thats dedcication
  6. Labour & The Lib dems both have 27 seats. The Tories have 5. Therefore the mayor does not have the casting vote. The tories do and jack Hulme as leader of the local party is currently king maker as the saying goes.
  7. So many to choose from, but it really would have to come down to Wellens or, much as I hate to admit, Porter. Wellens because he was the positive about anything good we did when he was here. The type of player who could change a match on his own. Nearly always fit and always desparate to be in the pitch. sure he lost it on occassion, but so what, others call that commitment. Porter? He certainly knew where the back of the net was and of all those listed, i can only think of Wellens and Porter that brought such disappointment that they hadn't re-signed. In the end I plumped for Wellens because I think he would have the most impact on our current squad
  8. With a 5000 (not all seater) capacity stadium. Plus 10 acre lane insn't exactly massive to allow them to expand then stadium No ambition there then.
  9. I've got us safe on 49 points in 16th despit only getting a point at Yeovil from our last 2 games. Southend and Exeter going down on 44 points with Wycombe and Stockport. Also got Swindon pipping Millwall for 2nd with Leeds in 4th and Southampton and Charlton also in the playoffs
  10. Gary (Andy) Barlow Jason Orange Howard Donald Or maybe Mark Owen
  11. Am I missing something? Off the top of my head Newyorkboss is on here and said who he is Chaddy the Owl is on here and said who he is Seasiders71 is on here and said who he is Broady is on here and said who he is Barry Owen uses his own name Wardle is a trust director and has said so along with a number of others whose names I can't think of at the moment. Also Ackey used the name webmonkey when he was employed by the club. I really don't understand the point Oh and someone told me this was just a message board. Strange!
  12. I've said for some time now that despite what a number of people on here say and think, you can't blame the players. (well maybe with the exception of Parker who in all honesty seems to have lost the inspiration to play football full stop) IMO the players HAVE put in the effort week in week out and that for me is a real positive. From last seasons team under Shez, we still have Hazell, Whittaker, Smalley, Lomax, Gregan, Taylor, Lee. Add to that Stephens was on the books last season with a view to him being blooded in over a period of time and Alessandra who has been out injured all season. That is the nucleus of a team that a lot of fans thought could win us promotion last season, a team that at times under Shez played some good football. Those same players have not become bad players, but they are playing to a different discipline. From last seasons squad we have lost, Crossley, Fleming, Liddell, Allott, Stam, Maher, O'Grady, Davies, Eardley and Hughes. Crossley was always going to be his last season at this level, Fleming divided opinion, Lids's legs went, Allott wanted 2 years we only offered 1, so he went to Tranmere and before playing for them dropped down a league to join Chesterfield. Maher never settled and to be honest never really impressed, Stam, I would have kept whilst O'Grady having scored for fun in division 4, never looked like scoring in division 3 and is now on his SEVENTH club., whilst Craig Davies fell out with Shez and never recovered. That leaves, for me at least, the 2 players we have missed most. Eardley for his consistency (how some supporters could have him as their boo boy really baffled me) and Hughes for his goals. Eardley was always going to go on to bigger and better things and I firmly believe that he will move upwards from Blackpool. Hughes was supposed to be going to the Championship last January with Doncaster and he had to settle for 4th Division Notts County. Why? Money possibly but surely a team in our league could have matched his wages at County say Norwich, Southampton, Leeds, Charlton and 1 or 2 others. Whilst I think we have missed Highes's goals, why hasn't someone in our league taken him? What have we replaced these players with: Purdie, who we haven't been able to judge, Holdsworth, Worthington, Brill, Jacobson, Abbott, Furman and :censored: oh yes and Parker. With the 2 exceptions I have mentioned, like for like is that any worse than we let go? So, if the nucleus of the squad is intact and we have replaced for the most part like for like, the real question is why are we struggling? Sure injuries have not helped. It happened to Shez in his second season and it is a major factor not being to put out the same side week in week out. As a team, we are far more organised defensively than I can remember in nigh on 40 years, even under JR. But has that "organisation" killed creativity in a way that we as fans do not like?
