Fane or O'Grady? Some short memories.
Forbes
Parker
Purdie (not his fault, admittedly)
Feeney
Cassidy
...just from the last 10 years or so.

Where are people getting this information?
-
It's certainly not a surprise given injuries and form for the first two, and the rumours of a bust-up involving the latter.
I'm not too bothered about DG going. I'm not even heartbroken about Baxter going, despite him being the most naturally skilful player on our books, given his injuries and (I assume) high wages.
Clarke will be missed. I'm not sure how many years he can keep going at the same standard, but I think he'll be missed nonetheless. What concerns me more is not that these three are going, it's the quality of their replacements.

Oh, is it that time of year already to dig this out again?

"Unique identity"? God knows.

Official site confirms Swaby-Neavin and Robinson have signed professional contracts. Presume all the other second year scholars have been released, including Scholes Junior.
-
Yes, it would be nice (and professional) to have some official word when these things happen.
-
Just noticed that Fane is also missing.
No surprise, but I think he was listed until recently so that might confirm his departure.
-
Some of the official squad profiles have disappeared.
43 Ewan McFarlane
44 Max Norman
45 Harry Norris

Hmm. Just took a look at the official website and some of the squad profiles have disappeared.
43 Ewan McFarlane
44 Max Norman
45 Harry Norris
It's not just that they've removed youth players - Javid Swaby-Neavin, Harry Robinson and Jack Williams are all still listed.
I wonder if they've been released?

Has young Sheriden gone
Sheridan is on a one-year pro deal, I think (graduated from the youths). But given the lack of appearances I wouldn't assume he's staying.
Same with Uche - he was the other youth offered a pro deal last summer.
-
Does anyone know when the retained list is published?
And has there been any word - official or otherwise - on which youth players have been offered deals and which have been released?
(I saw Jorvik mention something on the latter in the Exeter thread.)

Zeus and S(c)ylla?
If we're going with a Greek mythology theme lineup I just hope the rest aren't a bunch of argh-o-nauts today.

So did Fane go or was that just a rumour?

ALL HAIL THE BEGINNING OF THE VURKO ERA!

It's Schrodinger's transfer, both on and off at the same time.

I believe the Home Grown Rule is a PL rule, not an FA rule. Not sure if there's any equivalent for FL clubs, couldn't spot one in the current Handbook.

thanks very much...i had no idea
I did wonder how some premiership teams get away with only fielding the odd Englishman in the team on the field...its as long as they are in the match day squad
Home grown players don't have to be English - "a Player who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any Club (or club) affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three Seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday".
So that includes, for example, Bellerin, Christensen, Schneiderlin, Sigurdsson, Schmeichel and Lukaku.

Now that's a name. The registrar must've had to change biros halfway through.

We've got a Thierry as well? #FrenchLad?
Chinedu Uche from Oldham Athletic to Glossop North End
Thierry Lewis from Oldham Athletic to Hyde United
Looks like he's a youth goalkeeper.

One of our ex-youth players who was on a pro deal seems to have left the club - Chinedu Uche to Glossop.
Doesn't say it's a loan, but it could be.
-
"Freeing up space" for loans isn't really that relevant any more.
You can have as many loan signings as you like in your squad. There are only a couple of restrictions:
- no more than five loan signings can be named on your teamsheet;
- no more than four loan signings from any single club during the season, of which only two can be aged over 23.
