Sod all. I'm trusting the same squad as last season to dig in go straight back up. Heads will roll if it doesn't happen.
We change most of the squad each summer, and have just changed the entire backroom staff, the owner and most/all of the directors. Not sure how many heads are left unrolled!

Does the list include Academy players?
Nah, can't be doing keeping track of another squad as well!
-
He's still a second year scholar, can be added to the squad anytime.

Last month Alan Nixon stated, on Twitter, that Latics were going to appoint 73 year-old veteran coach Eric Winstanley as first team coach. Instead they've appointed 27 year-old Max Wragg.
Yeah, that's the kind of about-face you have to make when you offer 40-year contracts. Back to the Premier League by 2038!

Bazza as Supporter Liaison Officer.
-
Graham Westley as, uh, motivational coach?

From BBC site. A marriage made in ....
"United's Welsh striker Ched Evans, 29, is wanted on loan by Joey Barton's Fleetwood Town"
Just need Steve Evans as director of football and Cellino as chair and the four horseman of the football league will be complete.

Awww shucks.
Woah. It's like Candyman. You say his name three times and he appears.
-
PS when researching former players, I noticed that Chris Hall is now going by the name "Chord Melodic". What the actual f–?
-
Shame this is only for Latics players - I could do a "(Pint of) Best" XI otherwise (Oliver Beerhoff, Hakan Mild, Lars Lagerback...).
Anyway.
Best youth products:
G Andy Goram
D Andy Barlow
D Neal Eardley
D Will Haining (or maybe Richard Graham)
D James Tarkowski
M Paul Bernard
M John Eyre
M Nick Henry
M Mike Milligan
M Chris Taylor
F Carl Valentine or Alan Young (sorry Scott Vernon)
Rules for this best XI: they can't have made a senior appearance for another club before joining us. Youth education somewhere else is okay though.

Here ya go Crusoe!
Already updated the first post, slowcoach!

I'm getting slightly concerned that in every signing photo AL looks like a man who's thinking of a really dirty joke at your expense.
-
You beat me to it! Squad list in the opening post updated.

Distinct lack of McNivens in that team. Must be on the subs bench. Right?
-
I would like to applaud the opening poster for not naming this thread, "We should of stayed up".

Is there FFP in non-league?
Salford might seriously struggle once they are under FFP.
There's a bit of Notts County under Seven about them currently.
I don't think there is. I think FFP applies to the PL and Championship. Salary Cost Management Protocol (SCMP) applies to League 1 & 2. Not sure there's anything below that. At a practical level I guess it would be harder to police given the number of clubs, reporting and monitoring requirements, and finer margins the lower you go.
I'm pretty sure Billericay would be drawing a lot of attention if it did apply!

As shit as we could potentially still be relegation or even bottom third of this League is a million miles away.
This season's "NOTHING CAN GO WRONG NOW!" moment ((c) Danny Baker).

Yes, I genuinely feel for Byrnes but I'm not sure it's a reason to panic about the club right now. Well, it can get at the back of line behind all the other reasons, at least.

Very sad. Didn't know him at all other than on here but his approach to his situation was inspiring.
What Dave said. Rest in peace, O4U.

Yeah. Not at all convinced by either O'Grady or Benteke as options. Any #frenchlads out there want to have a try instead?

Added O'Grady. Anyone know what shirt number he's got?
