Apologies if it's been mentioned somewhere in the 11 page thread, but I'm surprised Wellens hasn't considered Holloway at CB, considering that's where he started his career. Strong, good in the air, good with the ball at his feet, by no means slow, semi-experienced. Worth a try if Gerrard is still injured.

That effin’ linesman!!
On the flipside, he did us a huge favour by keeping his flag down for Gerrard's clumsy challenge in the first half. It was a stonewall penalty.

Abdellah has joined twitter with the profile 'owner and chairman of Oldham Athletic'..... seems to be complete guys...
Not entirely convinced that profile is legit.

You've got to love this breed of Oldham fan. We've won one game all season, and now we're expected to get 'back in the mix' with 3 wins from 4 games. When were we ever in the mix?
Up next - shitty table topping Shrewsbury. Guaranteed 3 points because we are Oldham, super Oldham.
Calm down.

What's with the dodgy close-ups?
What's up? Do you not like close ups of Corney's eyes in 1080p?

I’m not so sure. It sounded like a potential new owner to me.
I agree. Why would you do due diligence on an investor? Definitely sounds like a potential takeover.

That was 2011 wasn't it...
So it was.
Lost 3-1 in 2013 according to a head to head website I've found. Beat them at their place in the tin pot trophy last season but haven't won there in the league since 2011.

We've not won here since 2013 but have a reasonable record there overall so we could be due a win.
Was that the scrappy 0-1 on a Tuesday night? Chris Taylor deflection if my memory serves me right?

Interesting that Sheridan said he had enough on the right hand side and yet played Green there...
I don't think he played anyone on the right. Looked to me like he played a diamond centre midfield with Green and McLaughlin naturally being dragged to the touchlines.

Guessing he has signed his contract which was 2 year with an option and that it will be announced on the website and Twitter today (don't hold me to that though)
That would be some guess.

It's a great idea but you just knew it would be executed terribly, didn't you? Just catching up on this thread and realise I'm far from the only one who wouldn't part with any money before finding out whether anyone actually saw anything on Saturday.
Without having to trawl through the thread, did anyone in the UK manage to get it working with a VPN?

We have two lads on trial who offer us pace and width - surely one or both are worth a contract, even on short terms.
I'm not sure what this obsession is with packing the centre of midfield and playing (or trying to play) through the middle of the park, especially when our only tactic appears to be lumping the ball up to the top two and completely bypassing the midfield.
Green gets dragged onto the right touchline and offers nothing; McLaughlin gets dragged onto the left touchline and is wasted.
In the second half, Holloway was picking the ball up from a right midfield position and playing balls into the box for Davies and Duffus. If we're playing two up top, Holloway needs to be in the penalty box. We need two wingers who can deliver a half decent cross to allow our two strikers to attack the ball.
Tried and tested 4-4-2, please Shez, with wingbacks and wingers. One central midfielder who isn't scared of a tackle alongside a ball playing midfielder or a midfielder not shy of driving the ball forward.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but there's now a Match Pass option on the packages page which lets you watch a one off game for the equivalent of £5.
Perfect for those looking to see if they can get a VPN to work without the Season Pass commitment.

According to United we're a fourth-tier club.

It was the distraction though that concerned me and at times I couldn't concentrate on the game.
Not always a bad thing at Boundary Park.

I don't think anyone's knocking the club for trying something new, especially when it's free, but last night was unwatchable, and Stalyvegas with no sound and Salisbury weren't much better.

You would think the plan was to bring him in as a 1st choice it must mean we have switched our attention to someoneelse and the only reasons would be that we know this someoneelse is
A- Better
B- Definitely going to sign.
Yeah I know 2 and 2 but this summer we seem to be doing things right......
Or C - not keen so back to the drawing board.
