  1. Yes its frustrating to drop points against lower sides, especially at home.

But we are better dropping points there and beating MK, Millwall, Leeds, Scunthorpe - 3 points gained on those teams. When we have dropped points against others, we have stayed the same distance from the pack or at most dropped 2 points.

You could ask most teams fans and you can guarantee they'll be disappointed in some results where they feel they should of picked up more points against so called weaker opposition. Its football, the only thing certain is its uncertainty.

  2. wife got me a new mobile phone , but this morning i changed it to norkia n95 .. anyone get anything nice? and did you recive unwated gifts eg jumper ,more socks etc

Got a nice G-star raw coat/jacket to keep me warm in the main stand bob.

Nothing unwanted actually. Plenty of Jack daniels, dvds, xbox 360 games.... not hard to buy for!

  3. Think this has been mooted before but reported again in todays sun, apparently Bristol want Eardley to replace wantaway defender Bradley Orr. For a million

Personally dont think theres smoke without fire with this story, i rate eardley my biggest gripe with him is his distribution but for a million quid id seriously take their hand off

EDIT: Apologies hadnt read the above :-D

  4. Theres a few opinions on here knocking about about whether to sell Lee Hughes in January. Personally I think 400k is a good price for a 32 year old striker but I think that we need him for a chance of promotion this season. Sign him up and sell him in the summer if we miss out on promotion.

Ok we get the 400k who will we realistically sign who will bag as many as hughes? We might do but i just carnt see it, gold dust at this level

The point of it being hughes' choice rather than the clubs does make this irrelevant but in principle you would choose goals over money. Although its a gamble as he could walk away is it worthwhile IF you get promoted for all the benefits in revenue that would bring

  5. Looking at the table at the moment - Donnie are clearly in a relegation battle at the moment, but to say they are dead and buried and already relegated? Doesn't look like that to me - 2 good wins on the bounce so confidence building and only GD putting them in bottom 2. If we were Donnie fans we'd be feeling confident, thinking its taken a while to find our feet in a higher division but stand a good chance of staying there.

We'd also think that a player like Lee Hughes might well be a key factor in doing just that.

If we are honest and take our blue-tinted goggles off and look at the two situations - who would you say looks more likely to be in the Champiosnhsip next year? Donnie who are only GD out of a certain Championship position Vs Latics who are currently in a position that gives them a 1 in 3 chance, and a number of points off auto. Plus the phrase 'a bird in the hand' springs to mind.

Donnie offers AT LEAST 5 months of championship football. Even if they do go down, Hughes could prove he is still capable at that level in that time period and secure a move to another Championship club in the summer as a result.

Lets not get too blinkered by this. If Hughes goes to ANY championship club, fair enough I'll accept it. Harder to accept a move to another League One club.

Carnt disagree with any of that 'scapegoat'. Spot on opinion.

  6.

One thing you can be sure of his agent will be sniffing around other clubs.

Dont forget the incident in the summer where he was touted to Dundee United Manager Craig Levein....."I got a call from an agent regarding Hughes and was told he was out of contract when in fact he still had a year to run, so that was that"

  7.

Only 4 days till the window opens so expect speculation to get even more frenzied.

Ive got a nagging feeling that we are offering a contract in vain so if he does go it gives us fans the impression the club has done their all to keep him which im sure they will do.

Situation is clear all round tho he either puts pen to paper or we sell to the highest bidder

  8. We should learn how to take advantage of these corners, Orient was slightly different, but Brighton and Carlisle, thats 11 and 19 chances on goal effectivley.

Corners are one place we are lacking, badly.

Agree with that. Been the case for not just this season tho, id say 3 seasons and a big factor is the insistence on playing it short

  9. Is it? Is it really?

Brighton, Lidds pen. Orient, Lidds pen. Today, no foul in the box, just one of those things? Three games against inferior opposition where we've created barely anything.

Corners...how many? And how many did we threaten from? We've just no idea and no clue. Players don't know what to do apart from making a token run...that's when it's not rolled back to the full back.

Subs...wtf!? Chasing the game so we bring on Lidds and Whitts? Sorry but 15 to go at home at nil nil...who's more dangerous...Lidds or Smalley? And Whitts in place of Maher? What's wrong with throwing COG to up the tempo and put himself about?

Byfield...bring back Davies. Similar players, both bone idle but at least one has pace.

And the final word for Shez. Out.

    E4e

    DJAVU

Carlisle were a good, organised side and came here on the back of a 3 nil beating of Huddersfield who had been on a roll.

If you think things are that bad, you must of been suicidal at the end of the 90's and Ronnie moore era because theyre really not.

Still lots of fans only attend to moan for 90 minutes, like the old git in the toilets i used at half time 'what a load of crap. why do i bother coming, when its freezing cold blah blah blah' felt like telling him to piss off home and sit in front of the fire

  10. if you honestly believe genuin latics fans want there team to lose, then you are as bad as them,,,,yes it is annoying listenin to ppl wen we have lost they come out in force with thier entitled opinion, but its equally annoyin wen we ave won cos the other brigade come out slaggin them off, today is a very joyous occasion, lets all stand as a unified unit and enjoy the result...not start a bitchin war.......startin with you Pete, make someone happy, go on you know you want to.....

Absolutely. Crewe played on the back of a creditable point at Millwall so we got a fantastic result. I couldn't make the game because im tackling turkey again but i carnt wait for the Carlisle game on sunday. Everyone should be there who can make it, this is a crunch period and we need to make the ground rock.

  11. Unless it's on police advice (which it isn't in case of Carlisle game), the clubs obviously think more people will turn up for an earlier k.o. than 3 pm. It may have something to do with the fact that Sunday shopping hours are usually 10 am to 4 pm, so a 3 pm kick-off will make it inconvenient to pick up or be reunited with shopping family members after the match. 2 pm k.o. means just before 4 pm finish, and 1 pm k.o. just before 3 pm. Normal 3 pm Saturday k.o. fits in well with shops closing around 5 to 5.30 pm. Also I suspect more people work Satuday AM (Post Office, Building Society, some trade counters etc) than on Sundays.

Also earlier k.o. means you save on floodlighting costs and possibly some other overheads.

I see that as a definite plus point to be honest.
