  1. You going to turn up then Ric? I reckon there is more chance of Roger turning up for a match against Nuneaton Borough than you.

Devils advocate hat off now :wink::wink: .

    KtF,

    Derek.

Cant wait. Still got the FA cup 'thundersticks' i got handed at Kettering away tucked in the bottom of a drawer. They're coming out for the 1st round!

  2. He didn't want Wrighty to spit at him!

Ian wright is a sun columnist as well but his opinions are really, really poor. On a par with the drunken randomer you get taking to in walkabout on a Saturday night when your half watching motd on those screens above the bar, half trying to make eye contact with the attractive bird with her group of chavvy mates round that table

  3. I wondered about the stats as well (are you quoting the BBC, which is what I read?) they make us seem like we were well in it but listening to the very occasional reports from BBC Manchester we sounded very poor. Were you listening to something different?

Regardless its a very disappointing result. The thing is this is the sort of result we've had for seasons now and you need to be going these sorts of places and coming back with something if you want promotion. Put me in a very low mood.

  4. and why was he disrespectful for the fans what did he do? Don't say he was disrespectful for taking the more money option like he owed us something because people who expect a player to show loyalty to a club when another one offers him a better deal are NAIVE and living in a socialist paradise where knowone chases profit.

Nothing to do with the money fair play to him if thats what he sees as important. I just think when he does things like stride past in the away end at swansea in his leather jacket like a big time charlie when he wasnt playing doing this big act thats hes one of us whilst many of our fans are singing his name 'theres only one richie wellens' after working all week and travelling down there and paying 20 odd quid in its a bit out of order. In this example he should of gone in the main stand or wherever and at least then he'd be honest about not giving a monkeys about the club. The least he could do is give thanks for the fans support during his time when he left less than 4 months later.

Dont get me wrong i dont expect everyone of our players to care about the club as much as say Chris Taylor but IMO that doesn't give any of the players the right to take the piss

  5. I must admit i wasn't upset either when Wellens left, you can say what you want about players needing a bit of 'nice' arrogance but wellens was just rude, full of ego and to be honest pretty disrespectful to the fans who generally held him in high regard. He was treated well by everyone at the club, yet when he made a dash for the cash he didn't have word of mention for anyone at Oldham.

No way in a million years would i want him back at the club again burnt his bridges as far as im concerned.

  6. Wellens on his day top notch but thats the point 'on his day' some games he was anonymous. Now im not saying whitaker doesnt/wont have poor games but ive never faulted his effort so far and he is a more box to box midfielder with plenty of running which i much prefer to a cultured playmaker. When the chips are down i know id much rather have whitaker in the team.

  7. I’m not religious but Jesus said “let him who has never sinned cast the first stone”. Now whose book of morals are these people referring to?

I’d also like Gaunt to re-read the sun on the day of the Everton game, to see the rather nice article that was written about the baldey bouncer lookalikey.

Carn't abide people trying to tarnish the club from some illusion of moral high ground.

I can tell hes an armchair supporter, hes on talksport isn't he?

  8. Bought FIFA todays and glad i did!

Also renewed the XBOX live so if anyone fancies a few games, add me on ste1987. I think i've regained the flair back

Ive heard a rumour xbox live is going to be free after Christmas?

  9. Back at work now after getting over there to see the worst two performances of the season (not my words - that's what I was told). Let's hope we can rack up some wins before I'm back at Xmas.

Was good to see (in no particular order) Andyb100, Chickers (cheers for the lift to Edgley), Uncle Mike (at his wedding - nice buffet, shame about Franny!), Beardy, Chaddy, Kits (at last I met the legend), Kidderz, and some others I can't remember their names - sorry lads...

    See you at Xmas.

Edit: I forgot to mention Lee Hughes who sat behind us for second half at Stockport - I wish you would have played instead!

Always nice to see you mate. Its just disappointing we didn't play well. Should organise a pub session when your back over

  10. and the really famous guy from Corrie... dont watch the sodding thing but the 50ish yoear old bloke with blondish floppy hair in a side parting - is it Jack Duckworth?

    Ken Barlow i think.

On a theme i bumped into Dierdre Barlow quite literally walking into a newsagents in Manchester she dropped her fags and i picked them up for her. I remember thinking how tall she was and how veiny her neck was

  11. So may your love be modern enough to survive the times, yet old Fashioned enough to last forever.

Oh lord tear jerker. Might have to use that

Im doing the best man role next may, currently organising the stag do.

Speech is very good, im sure it'll go down as well as the beer

  12. Eardley is 19 years old. He is a decent footballer who will improve - for me he has two areas that need working on:

His distribution - still gives the ball away too often

His positional sense - often loses his winger

For me his true position is midfield - he is fast, strong in the tackle and has a decent shot on him. Friday's game was crying out for some of that in the centre of the park.

I would continue the experiment from last season - he wasn't half bad in midfield was he?

He was excellent in midfield plenty of energy, he can tackle (tho id consider revising that claim after fridays show) and has a cracking shot on him. My major issue with him at right back is too often hes poor under pressure just gets rid and considers that job done which goes back to your point about distribution.

  13. Was Maher actually 'on the bench'??? He didnt warm up at half time on the pitch with the other subs (Smalley, Lomax, lewis, Ales, Stephens, Fleming??) and he wasnt wearing kit - he had on a tacksuit, trainers and one of the big latics coats shez wears....

Dont know if he was named beforehand, but dont think he actually took up his place.... to be honest we could have done with anoter experienced head in that midfield in the second half....

Its interesting that Maher is now being looked upon as inspiration/leadership to our apparently flagging midfield now were struggling a bit, whereas a couple of weeks ago we could of loaned him out to anyone and nobody would of batted an eye.

  14. There are over 250 additions and enhancements to the core gameplay, Fifa 09 delivers a real authentic football simulation game that enables you to customize the game to suit your style and ability, you can full change team tactics and create your own that suits your team requirements. Also, the player celebrations have returned from Euro 08, you chose how to celebrate.

Dont work for EA do you?

I'm still playing Pro Evo 2008, believe the 09 one is out in a couple of weeks.

Everything mentioned about FIFA 09 has been positive, and having the official licence is definitely important. Got an xbox 360 and wii in our house so could go for it on either
