  1. Does anyone know if there are any people or charities that take old shirts - I have a right collection that I am loathe to part with, but realistically I am not going to be doing anything with them, and if they can be worn by children or people worse off than us it would put them to good use. Any ideas?

this might be someone on here, be able to give ya more insight into it!

  2. I remember now that an ex housemate of mine went down there with his fellow Appy Ammers for an out of season jolly - I have a strong feeling that him and his mates could fairly be described as, "a bit naughty." There were about 25 of them, they went into a pub and found it full of twice as many Millwall also on a jolly. Hospital visits and arrests ensued...

D Day be chucking himself round his bedroom when he reads that!!

  3. Other than some freakish weather there doesn't appear to be any chance of it being changed. It's neither an international nor FA Cup date and to the best of my knowledge the only club that play at Roots Hall are Southend United!

And don't let Chickers put you off the Travelodge, he's just bitter because he booked Littlehampton Travelodge when he wanted a weekend in Brighton only to discover he was nearer to Paris! I've stayed at the Southend one before and doing so again this year. It's ideally located right in the town centre you know Chickers!

its not that mate, its just it will be full of people off here for my birthday bash down there!

  4. Indeed. There was a couple of lads in the Grey Mare pre game that where sat on the next table to us, who I think one was definately a Liverpool fan (apparant given his comments during the game). Think the other supported Burnley. They never mentioned that they were going, until they were spotted in the 2nd half having made there way to the very front of block T. Both of them were joining in the singing and yelling obscenities when Taylor had a good appeal for a corner given as a goal kick.

Pretty sure given the opportunity, that they'll be doing that same routine again before the season's out.

plus they won our first goalscorer game in the pub!

inbreds taking our jobs and our money!! haha

  5. Hi,

MK Dons fan here. Congratulations on your start to the season! Early days, but I'm sure you're enjoying being top.

I'm travelling by train on Saturday and wanted to check something. We've booked to Werneth because your official site says that's the nearest station. It says it's a 15 min walk to Werneth compared to 45 mins to Mumps, but it doesn't look like that on the map. Mumps doesn't look much further than Werneth, and there's more frequent trains to Manchester from Mumps. (Time could be a bit tight for catching our connection after the match.)

Is really better to use Werneth?

    Thanks,

    Dave

your best to get off at mumps and then get a bus from there to the ground (or you can walk should the weather be nice!)

check this website www.gmpte.com as that contains all the local buses.

if you dont want to walk, you can get the 82,83 (most frequent) and get off at the main bus station, then get the 409 bus to the hospital.

  6. for me one moment summed up how we feel, and are currently percieved as a set of fans. neal eardleys attempted cross, when he fell. from the perspective of the players (except maybe eardley) it was funny, almost everyone laughed especially davies. imagine the reaction from our stand yesterday if it was this time last year when we were bottom(ish)? FECK OF EARDLEY YOU BAG OF POO. WHAT YOU LAUGHING AT DAVIES YOU LAZY TWIT. makes me shudder.

highlight for me was the lady in the red top sat near to us lot, very very nice!

  7. Think you were on a roll that day. Even got a tad lippy despite being surrounded by hundreds of Millwall banging on the tube windows - telling some of them that they were crap and we deserved at least a draw. Could of been worse though - the other lot who went down got asked by a load of cockneys where they were from. One of them bottled it and said Gillingham. LOL. Dont think he'll ever live that down.

best of it was the story bout the megabus, and how it cost them over 50 each to go down one way! haha

  8.

I thought I was bad being unable to spell the word embarrassed.:lol:

I'm 23. Lordy is 19 or so. LaticsLegend and JonesyOAFC are both 18 and Lee is 17. Yet the people we've been calling tw*ts arent in actual fact, that much younger than ourselves. So what's the difference? You cant blame it on growing up on St Mary's (as I grew up on a similar estate in 'dale all my life - and i've been mates with lads who've grown up on St Mary's and the like and they're some of the nicest people you can meet). Cant really lie the blame on being in a "pack" (as just because you're in a large group of mates, doesnt mean you feel the need to act like tw*ts) - I was there with about ten others around me I knew last night, yet didnt feel the need to act like that. I used to go dale with about 30 others, when I was 15/16 and never once acted anything like they did last night.

best bit of the night though was when the two lads were giving it the big I AM the steward asked them to step outside as they had used up all there warnings the one in the white tops bottom lip started quivering!

sad acts who had overdosed on too many blue smarties!

  9. One match one loss out of the cup to a side in the division above. All the doom and gloom is back. You got it wrong Shez, Gregan better than stam, Maher fit only to be a sub, Neil Eardly is rubbish. I love this board and the chat room but where has the lack of common sense come from. I know opinions ... yes but there is such a thing as constructive critisism.... Wits end sometimes ... hope we m,urder Colchester so reading will become banter instead of suicide material.

    Andy B out!

  10. My dad was asking me that the other day. I didnt know the answer for him, as he turns 60 in december even though he does look it and was saying he knows numerous clubs who's oap rate starts at age 60. He was saying he'd probably go all the time if he could get a concession but £20 is alot of money when he could be earning 5 times that if he worked a shift on a saturday and just do what he does now and pick and choose a game.

i dont think the turnstile ops really check the tickets anyway, so he should be ok to get a oap ticket

  11. Yeah, the England flag and OAFC badge got painted over a while ago...shame, I really liked it.

Haven't been inside the pub for a few years...I hope all the Latics pictures and shirts etc are still up....

doubt it as they now own the white hart

and found out on sat that colin has sold the grey mare as well!

  12. I run Norton Internet Security (I know it's not a lot of people's cup of tea, but I've never had a problem) and not so long ago I added PC Tools spyware doctor. Everything worked well for a long time, but now although Spyware Doctor picks any up 'infections' I can't access the problem because of a PC Tools GUI problem, I've sent emails but they don't reply, so I'm thinking of dumping it and finding some other spyware detector, so (1) Do I need the extra protection, (2)If so can anyone recommend one.

    Thanks in advance.

    DT

    i use spybot search & destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

also use crap cleaner and lavasoft adaware which are good tools

  13. Nothing will work until they sort out the tannoy system in the R.R.E.

when i cursed our season yesterday, franny was in there and he said the reason we couldnt hear anything in the rre, other than all the swearing and noises if seats banging as people kept standing up was because the pa system had been turned up too loud!
