  1. Was anyone sitting in the upper deck at Elland Road, where a latics fan went to the toilet mid first half and got turned over by 6 Leeds fans in the away toilet, returning to the stands, being sick everywhere and being taken off by paramedics, we then learnt he was in emergency surgery, heard how he is? Can't believe there is nothing on here about it, but it has really put the mockers on getting the win. I have been through every emotion from angry to crying at the game, and it has rocked me big time. Anyone know how he is - I cannot get it out of my mind.

thats awful, i thought he had had one too many sherberts pre game, hope he is ok!

wonder if there will be a directors release at Elland Road?

  2. Just thought i would offer this out on here first before it goes on Ebay.

I have decided to sell my prized possesion. It is a red 1966 England shirt which has been signed by Sir Geoff Hurst. The signature is across the chest. The shirt has been framed in a silver frame and the shirt has not been folded in the frame so it can be seen in its full size glory.

Ive not got any pictures of it at the minute but i will take some tonight and put them on here if anyone is interested. Anyone who has been to my house has seen the shirt though as its got pride of place in the kitchen and i show it to everyone who comes to the house.

The shirt cost me £140 over 4 years ago and that was for just the shirt, i then paid £65 to get it framed.

I am open to offers, but reasonable ones. If a fellow "Tic" wants it i would let it go for anything over £150.

    Any takers?

i may be interested...will drop you an e mail tomorrow

  3. Right I'm fed up with all this doom & gloom on here.

Not sure if this has been done previously as I'm fairly new to this site but here goes anyway.

Of the current teams in the Premier, Championship, League 1 & League 2 which grounds (old or new) have you watched the mighty Latics in a competitive game. (Rules - It doesn't count if you went for a jolly, or rugby match, or a conference or you drive past it in the morning or whatever, you had to be there to watch a Latics match).

I was quite surprised how many I have been to (I must be getting old) but I still have some way to go to complete the lot

    (wife & kids permitting?).

I think we will have to get relegated to do that or the likes of Rochdale ( Lol) & Chester will have to get promoted?

By my reckoning there are 16 teams I have not seen us play away at either old or new grounds & a further 15 new grounds that I have not been to yet.

    Premier League

Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Blackburn, Man City (old yes, new no), West Ham, Tottenham, Middlesborough (old yes, new no), Newcastle, Wigan (old yes, new no), Reading (old yes, new no), Sunderland (old yes, new no), Birmingham, Bolton (old yes, new no), Fulham, Derby (old yes, new yes).

Stoke (old yes, new yes), Bristol City, Hull City (old yes, new no), Watford, West Brom, Plymouth, Ipswich, C.Palace, Wolves, Charlton (Selhurst Park yes, Valley no), Burnley, Sheff Utd, Cardiff (no), QPR, Preston, Blackpool, Norwich, Barnsley, Southampton (old yes, new no), Coventry (old yes, new no), Leicester (old yes, new no), Sheff Wed, Scunthorpe (old no, new yes), Colchester.

    League 1

Swansea (old no, new no), Carlisle (no), Doncaster (old yes, new no), Forest, Southend (no), Brighton (old yes, new? ...Withdene yes), Tranmere, Leeds Utd, Walsall (old yes, new no), Leyton Orient, Oldham, Northampton (old no, new yes), Hartlepool (no), Huddersfield (old yes, new yes), Swindon, Yeovil (no), Cheltenham, Bristol Rovers (Bath City yes, Memorial Ground yes, Eastville no), Millwall (old yes, new no), Crewe Alex, Gillingham (no), Bournemouth, Luton, Port Vale.

there is an application on facebook which lets you log all the grounds you have been too. which is quite good.

  4. I remember John Ryan and Paul Atkinson being very good players with us first time around before they got sold off to Newcastle and Watford. Both players returned to us and they just didnt seem the same again.

Could it be something to do with the price tag if any involved

you know we sell a player on for x thousand, he comes back for whatever reason, and then the crowd are baying for blood as soon as he makes a mistake as "he must be good as we got £xx for him" so the player in question is in the spotlight sooner.

whereas with allot, 99% of the fanbase thought he was :censored:, so wrote him off before he came, turns out he is not so bad this could be due to the pressure being off him from day one as he has been written off?

  5. P.S - The guy who does the Music before and at half time needs to be snapped up by Latics. No cheesy songs, or crappy sayings about stamping feet and clapping hands to the Bongo song. Just 15 minutes of Primal Scream, Stone Roses, etc.

You would have thought that it would be the same at latics as the guy who sometimes does it can be seen raving downstairs in tokyos to that kinda music. i could always lend them my ipod for a game! haha

  6. Jesus wept, Chickers is getting all philosophical. I prefer you when your drunk mate, you make much more sense

Thanks for the nice words though mate, you are one of the ones who gets to see just how much i do love the job.

I know i prefer it when i am drunk, it saves on heating bills as i have my nice big beer blanket to keep me warm, and see how i managed to refrain from any comments refering to Gary Glitter in it! hahaha!!

Plus you cant quit yet mate, there is a small matter of the weekend away at wetherby, ya will look a bit stupid running along with the mascots in ya womans gloves and nike sweatband, whilst having the aura of red bull around you! hahaha
