I'm not sure anyone has been unlucky really, Shelvey is a walking red card and not great either.

I think Welbeck is the biggest surprise inclusion for me, he's almost permanently injured, probably a reflection on the alternatives  TBH.

Lallana is never fit, and you could guarantee if he was fit to start the first game he wouldn't be fit to start the second.

Wilshere always likely to break down at any moment. I have no problem not taking perennial crocks.

I think the squad looks desperately short of quality, especially in midfield, think we will do well to get out of the group, certainly no better than that.

Wilshere is perhaps the only one whose selection I’m bothered enough to get irked about, because he’s actually a very good player

Injury prone it’s true, but we’re so lacking in quality and dynamism in midfield - he offers both. The whole point of being allowed a big squad is that you can take a few crocks.

    That’s absolutely magnificent.

    Thanks all.

Are there any photos knocking about? He’s one of them in suits

  3. I’d take him for some continuity. I know we were poor and that probably exaggerated his performances but he begun the season well and definitely played in a more advanced role than the one he sagged into as the season progressed.

I remember him posing a real threat from the midfield even up to and including Doyle’s first few games, then it just dissipated as he suffered a downturn, which he never seemed to recover from.

Think he’ll be really disappointed with his goal return this season.

Must be a manufacturer-driven thing. It used to be the case 10 years ago that a kit would be for 2 years or so, but I reckon 99% of FL clubs will have a new kit in August.

Almost every club does. Generally the away shirt rolls on to the next season as the third shirt, but naturally Nike or Adidas wouldn’t want their templates to lag behind for a year longer than the big clubs
