Our problem is simple - the owners don't need to sell so they can wait.

 

I suspect they want to sell but the White Elephant is another mistake which will make it harder not easier.

 

We are stuck with them. Two relegations might make a difference but who wants that?

 

Can't see us going down this year as despite all the knocking we are slowly getting better and could even do the double over Scunthorpe!

Couldn't agree more. I hate seeing our good prospect youths being farmed out on loan. I've been singing Edmunsons praises for a while alongside many others that watch the youths - from equal amount of viewing he's better than Burgess, frustrates me far too much.

I rate Edmundson as a prospect but the fact he's on loan in the National league has to be telling. That said i don't sign up to the Burgess bashing either, he's been part of a fairly (for the most part) solid defence......

You two, and others such as Latics Pete find it very easy to dismiss any point of discussion and raise more questions of your own.

I would be absolutely fascinated as to what your feelings are to the current state of the club and how we should go forward? All you lot do is ignore any points, dismiss it and then ask questions which have no relevance and also have a weird affection for Corney and other board members and then accuse fans that it's their fault that we're in this situation?

Bozman, I`m not being patronising here but your point illustrates what is wrong with Latics and many connected with them. They often cannot see the wood for the trees. You may think it's proactive from the club in contacting some "lone wolf" down south who hasn't apparently been for a couple of years. Meanwhile, we have around 2-3,000 local fans who have abandoned the club over the past few years!

 

There appears to be no "strategic view" whatsoever at Latics - just daft little initiatives here there and everywhere. Scoreboard is a classic example - who really gives a damn about a scoreboard when we have a club struggling in all sorts of other areas. But no, lots of well-meaning people puts lots of effort into an initiative as futile as a scoreboard and pat themselves on the back about the positive things they are doing. In business, it's called being busy fools - and it always results in abject failure.

 

Sorry to be so blunt but the club urgently needs a strategic review :-

 

A plan for the rest of this season

 

A 2 year plan

 

A 5 year plan

 

Once people can see a strategy with some reasonable stated aims, then they may just start to believe there's something worth supporting. At present we are at best, stagnant, and at worst fast turning into a toxic pond from which there will be no recovery.

How do you want the club to react? What do you want them to do?

To get past the boring disagreements can we just all accept that in some people's minds Latics today beat the mighty AFC Wimbledon 1-0?

Banks it seems did OK or maybe not? Osei nearly scored a hat-trick in 45 minutes. I know which one I would rather put my money on

Thanks for the feedback - lol. Ollie Banks made some cute passes yesterday, granted - against a 4th division side who effectively played their second string! He's looked anonymous against any side worth its salt. Have you never witnessed Fane in full flow? (early season) - he's about the only player I`ve seen regularly frighten the opposition - the other actually was Osei but he seems to have been sidelined by our esteemed management.

 

Seem to remember Osei coming on at half time against Carlisle - scoring 2 good goals and crashing a header against the bar. Name me any other Latics player who has come close to achieving that in just 45 mins this season. They were scared to death of him. The lad's not been given a proper chance - meanwhile we have McKay.........
