  1. Well done for leading the charge here.

My biggest issue in recent times has been the disconnection between fans and club and that the club is seemingly unable to really understand the fans' perspective. The fans view the club and its owners with suspicion and vice versa. For a club of the size and stature of oafc that is hugely damaging. Corneys recent interview only served to reinforce my perception that the void between the fans and owners is extremely wide. They are simply not on the same page at the moment.

I would like to think this can change but proper engagement between the fans and the club is critical. It has to be driven by fans though. Silly questionnaires on our website don't do it. There are means and ways of engaging with fans on a more personal level. Faceless and impersonal questionnaires really aren't the way forward for a club like us.

I really hope this is the start of an improved relationship.

Lastly, Corney's continual reference to 'letting fans see the books' says it all to me about his clear misunderstanding of our perspective and the issues we have as fans. I don't doubt for one minute that the books don't make for good reading.

My issue, and that of most fans, is the fact that we would appear to have little chance of progress under the current regime. A regime that has overseen continual year on year decline and yet we are supposed to buy into the view that he has done a good job for keeping us in league 1.

That's not what motivates football fans mate. You clearly don't get it.

Where do you believe we should be? (I'm not saying i believe we're smashing it to still be in league 1)

  2.

In that case the judgement of the groundsman was poor to say the least.

We don't know, as has been mentioned both teams were happy that it would be ready. The ref made a decision. We don't know what the pitch was like. The ref might have been a numbskull. The pitch might have been crap. We don't know. Agree it should never have come to that though.......

  3. Why didn't the club call in the ref at 10am? the ref could then have given the ground staff 3 hours to melt the small area of concern , the frost can't have been very deep.

Because they clearly felt that the pitch would be fine/ they'd be able to thaw out the 1 area that was still frosty.....

  4. So Oldham Athletic are in the same league as Bonnyrigg Rose, Brechin City, East Fife and Formartine United when it comes to the preparation of their pitch.

There is no point blaming the ref because he will have his instructions to follow. If you can't present a playable pitch by 12.30 when every other club in the top five leagues has you are a joke.

    Somewhat disappointed.

Because conditions were exactly the same for all clubs???

  5. Not the first time OAFC will be the ONLY club in the entire football league to postpone a game.

Happened against Swindon not long ago when we called it off on Friday night despite forecasts that the temperature would be 8 degrees on Saturday.

Yet again bad bad decision making at the club to have a game called off when the pitch is playable at 9am.

Costly in so much as cash flow as one of only 2 games at home during a 6 week period is called off.

It doesn't happen at any other club so please dont say it bad luck agin , it is poor decision making by amateurs and frankly i am totally pissed off with it.

55 years a S/T holder and this is my last one because i have finally had enough of supporting such an amateur outfit.

    Ref called it off.......

  6. What is the point in a face to face? Does anyone really think all the questions would be answered to the satisfaction of everyone? This seems more of a "say it to my face" invitation from Mr Corney, to be fair.

You can't satisfy all the people all the time. But a series of questions asked face to face would provide answers or at least evidence to back up certain peoples claims.....

  7. Appalling and unforgivable from Robinson, that. Green already had a warning before his red, he should have been subbed so long ago.

Decent enough in the first half, but again, can't hit a barn door. Should have been ahead at HT. Having said that, the first 15mins of the second half was ome of the most ridiculous I've seen, we got absolutely peppered.

And we can't defend set pieces. At all.

Some would argue that the manager trusting one of the most experienced players not to get a 2nd booking isn't the worst managerial decision in history......
