    Tp s experienced , but how much of that has been gained as a 1st team manager or assistant ? And it's the back 5 where the experience is lacking , 4 of the starting defence are under 21 , and even grounds didn't play many games at boro .

    Grass isn't always greener . Based on 2 nd half of last season I'd have him back , we will see if Sid or Dayton are as good or better

    Does Nt make sense , so if he's on the right , it leaves our left back vunerable , and vice versa. You either go with 2 wingers , or a solid 3 in the middle , 433 when we attack , 451 when we lose possession

    He's not the type to work hard for the team out there, he'd be starved of possession, and we d be losing our playmaker from the most dangerous area of the pitch. Plus, in monty, Dayton, sid, and millar we have good options for both wings .

    Hindsight is a wonderful thing ! Agree with that for pboro though, and obv we need a centre back ASAP .

    O4U , 4312 isn't gonna work with 2 out and out wingers, it would leave smith totally outnumbered . We need to get wes or Rogers in alongside smith, with Jose off Rooney or jch . Call it 442, 4411 , 4231 , it's all much of a muchness really, it's down to each player doing there job .

    Alec you my friend I guarantee you I know plenty about football , and having been a fan since 87 I've seen many good latics teams, and more good away teams too . You are old , probably pining for the days of outside and inside lefts !!!

    If he left , some of the money may be given to LJ to reinforce the defence , and we ve still got 3 good strikers. Obv we ll miss his link play and vision , but we won't be relying on him as much as last season for goals , or assists.

    Have him on the back of my shirt, for that 1 magnificent season , best attacking midfielder I have ever seen at latics. Oh and he got 1 or 2 important goals for the club !!

    With players who can last 90 mins, as oppose to 70 last 3 seasons.
