He's got to be the biggest disappointment this season, he's so negative as well he's also forgotten which way we are attacking. Poor player at the minute, absolute passenger.

I'm going to defend Lundstram here, the way we set up we don't have too many attacking options, we have 7 defenders on the pitch. Unlit we start playing 4 in midfield with Ward and another attack minded midfielder he is going to struggle.

Funny you should ask Dave, that was my job for this morning! Caveat - I use transfermarkt for this info, or mosvaluations.com as it's otherwise known. So if I'm out on anything I'll blame my tools.

The reason I looked at the form since Unsworth left was to see whether or not the squad is as bad or as inconsistent as is being made out. Being 4th in the form table since then would suggest there is a certain level of consistency.  Some stats on our managers this season...

Unsworth: 9 games, 7 pts (0.78 PPG), 23rd in form table

Thompson: 6 games, 12 pts (2.00 PPG), 5th in form table

Mellon: 11 games, 20 pts (1.82 PPG), 3rd in form table

If we take Mellon's PPG and apply it over the 26 games of this season so far we'd be 4th in the table. If we apply that over a full season (83 points) then over the last 6 seasons (going backwards) we'd have finished 4th, 6th, 4th, 2nd, 5th and 2nd.

If we continue earning points at Mellon's current PPG for the rest of this season we'd end up on 75 points. That would have us finishing as follows in the last 6 seasons (going backwards) 5th, 9th, 8th, 4th, 6th, 4th.

Both of those stats have been adjusted for various shortened seasons. The covid one I've taken an average of 38 games so could be out a little bit. The 2 seasons where we'd finish 9th and 8th both were very close among the top 10, who were scoring more points between them than this season's top 10. I think the final table this season is more likely to end up like one of the other seasons so I'd expect us to be comfortably in the play offs on current trajectory.

Nice work NZ, it makes you realise just how shit Unsworth was, what a waste of a year and a bit.

New manager comes in and doesn't fancy every player signed by the previous one shocker.

There weren't too many dissenting voices when they were brought in.

Perhaps that's because people were willing to give them a chance, there is a couple on LOF's list who I would stick with, certainly Ward who could be the catalyst for getting a bit more out of Lundstram.

Moving On Up by M People always seemed to get an airing before home games in the early 90s.

Reminds me of Latics during that period and I won't have a word said against the song...

Which was quite apt, we may be better off playing 'Downtown' at the moment though.

He's the only positive thing at their club by the sounds of it, they were singing for him for 88 mins until that changed to songs about the rest of them not being fit to wear the shirt and Askey Out.

Would take a brave chairman to accept a bid for him.

Were they giving Fondop grief, the way he celebrated his goal it seemed like he was giving it back to them.

It's the season of goodwill and all that so let's have a nice happy thread.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas to wherever you are in the world.

Abit of dissapointing result yesterday but our future is bright we have the right people running the club and eventually we will get a promotion back to the football league and more good times beyond that.

    Take care

    Neil Joy......

    ....sorry GlossopLatic.

*NB for anyone unfamiliar the Merry Christmas Y'filthy animals is a reference from the film Home Alone. Most of you probably know that but just incase you didn't.

Never seen "Home alone" so kiss it.

Only joking but I've never seen the film. Merry Xmas and the future is bright.

He's a young lad and I'm certainly not writing him off yet, just like I don't get carried away with good debuts, but Kofi Moore's performance yesterday when he came on is up there with the worst Oldham debuts I've ever seen...

At least Jordan Bove had the sense to get himself off after 2 minutes before we could criticise his ball control.
