You are right-it is a bit harsh. I bet you would struggle to find a less than 6/10 performance from Sheron over his career here. Players have been brought in to replace the likes of McGahey not Sheron.

I don't mind Sheron he gives 100% every game, he struggles on the half turn and does give the ball away a little too much. We can do better but as a squad player I'd take him.

It's not rocket science. The last time Hogan was suspended, he picked McGahey, and if my memory serves me correctly, McGahey stepped in at CB at Woking. He played pretty well, I seem to recall as well.

I still maintain the belief that he's a fairly decent CB, and him being panned for his appearances in midfield is slightly harsh

I agree, a midfielder McGahey is not. I'm sure MM will play his best side taking into account the opposition. It might be a good time to try 4 3 3 as we look to have a decent hard working midfield 3 of Conlon, Lundstram and Sheron.

It'll go Pete Tong at some point - it's Latics.

But I am struggling to think of factors that would result in us not at least making the play-offs from here.  Big squad, good manager, no night at the dogs planned...what am I missing that's going to catch us out?

Well we managed to ride videogate, at some point we are going to have to stop being pessimistic, the wheel has turned its our time.

Tickets in the home end are on sale for this. They've blocked off the same areas behind the goal and on the side as last year so assume we'll have the same allocation - which won't be enough and will lead to exactly the same issues with away fans in the home end as last season.

How many tickets did they give us last season? With it being a Tuesday night there won't be as much demand, would have thought that some won't bother as the ground was ticked off last season.

Best performance I have seen this season.  Looked like we knew what we were doing in that formation. The 3 centre backs spread wide when we had the ball and the wing backs were high from the start of any move. The midfield 3 were interchangeable. Front 2 were constantly available. Highlight for me was Sherons recovery tackle and pass leading to the penalty. That was immense.  Get it wrong and it could have been one each. Good feeling coming out of the ground.

This, last night felt totally different, how many times even with a 2 goal lead have we felt nervous coming into the last 5 minutes, it never felt in doubt.

  6. Top result, we looked like a football side tonight. They struggled to play through us which other teams have done at will this season. Conditions were terrible and so was the ref.

Lundstram looked more like the player we thought we had bought which goes to show you need somebody else to share the load in midfield. Hogan played well 2nd half, we definitely look like there is more balance to the side now.

Bromley draw, Aldershot and Gateshead lose. Decent set of results today.

Yeah not bad at all, Bromley still look too far ahead of us but stranger things have happened. It's weird to be feeling so positive after all that has happened, we are not playing well but the recent signings have really given me hope.

That was pompey 91 wasnt it ?

Didn't Mickey Quinn score for Pompey, I can't recall how the scoring went, my abiding memory is the Chaddy giving it to him all game. "He's fat, he's round, his arse is on the ground, Mickey Quinn, Mickey Quinn.
