It's a minefield and I`ve witnessed such a legal action before. It really can ruin someone's life.
Spoken to United and they’ve advised I’m fine, spoken to some people with a lot of Media experience and they’ve said I’m fine also. Went through my social media code of conduct with a fine tooth comb and I feel at ease after reading that also. I didn’t disclose anything confidential, I wasn’t libellous or scandalous. Everything I said was opinion so I don’t think it can be classed as defamation... although I’m no legal expert.
If they want to do something they can be my guest and we’ll see what happens however given the things I know, have seen and heard which others can corroborate, as well as Abdallah’s record when it comes to any kind of legal proceedings, I don’t think they’ll have a leg to stand on.
Also there’s a massive weight of my shoulder and I feel a lot better having said my piece...

Billy - I think a lot of fans appreciate your candid tweets (or whatever they were lol - I`m not on any social media).
Just a few words of advice - be very careful what you write - if certain people are as poisonous as many claim, then it would not surprise me if one/all of them "went for the jugular" (of someone) via the courts around alleged defamation once they thought they had sufficient evidence.
I appreciate the concern although I’ve spoken to the right people and I think I’m covered. They’ve gone at previous staff members for similar and got nowhere, plus if they did do something it would just add weight to my comments if three supposedly experienced professionals are more bothered about a 23 year olds tweets than they are the league position etc.- 6

Can I ask, are you a lifelong fan Billy or did you start to work for the club and develop a love for the club ? Just interested. Won’t think any less of you (unless you’re a red ) Hope you are enjoying your new job btw.
Wasn’t that much into football until 2010 which was my first season properly supporting Latics, before that I’d been to the odd game here and there but I was a geeky child that preferred the likes of Star Wars and Harry Potter!First game I actually properly remember was against Bolton pre season when Tom Eaves scored a hat trick against them and then they signed him from us the next day!
Since then I’ve been a proper Latics fan, my Stepdad has been a fan all of his life so I went with him and some friends, only a few years whilst I was at University I didn’t have a Season Ticket. Only been a fan a decade but that 3-0 win against Bolton was when I properly fell in love with Latics and Football in general.
New job is great albeit very demanding, learning so much though!

Agreed. I'm concerned as well that he's implying that McCann is off this month. That would be a disaster as his presence today might have salvaged something from the trainwreck.
I’m just speculating on that front, I don’t know anything and I’m not ITK, just think he’s too good for us and he’ll get better offers elsewhere- 1

Mark is somebody the club will sorely miss to be honest, he was full of integrity and one of the most hard working individuals I’ve ever come across. He had so much time for all the footballers and given the amount we’ve had over the last two seasons that number is a hefty sum, even harder when half of them speak a different language! He was the first one in and the last one out most times. Not many fans will know about Mark because he quietly went about his business and did his job effectively but there were countless times he went above and beyond for the football club. He deserves the move more than anybody else in my opinion, the club will miss him and I know for a fact that the players will miss him even more.

Don't know about that!
I'd take being 10% as successful at United as Irwin was

Thanks for that Billy. Hope you enjoy life at Man U.
The ticket office only opening 3 afternoons a week and 11-3 on Saturday, seems crazy to me. I know quite a bit of the time there is no-one at the window, but there are plenty of other things need doing as you will know.
Cheers
Yeah I guess the club will just have to see how it goes...

It is more or less confirmed that Billy has left, by the reduced hours that the ticket office is open because of staff changes. I suspect they haven't been able to replace him yet, and the ticket office is being run by existing staff. I see problems ahead!!!
Handed in my notice a while ago, my last day is on Friday
The club has found a replacement for me, but the club have decided to make the Ticket Office part time and my replacement will be part time also. She has plenty of experience working in a Ticket Office

Whilst I very much appreciate the job you do in going above and beyond what the club could reasonably expect of you, in keeping people informed of what's going on across various social media platforms, I have to point out that some of the above just isn't true.
I still haven't been contacted by anyone regarding my 100 Club memberships which I renewed in June.
I've also been a member since inception and wasn't invited to the the office meeting mentioned above.
The club have my contact details and don't have any trouble contacting me when it comes to sending invoices.
Hi,
Can you DM me your surname so that I can double check that we have your details on file?
Only 25 people renewed of which we have emails/phone numbers for, or I have in my files which I sent over to the Commercial Department, so if they've not got in touch then it may simply be a clerical error.
I'm staying till 8 tonight so I'd be more than happy to contact you myself - I just need to know who you are to do so!
Thanks

Surely anyone affected for whom the club held details for (which they do for all season ticket holders), should have had a notification and not have to be reached out to on a message board??
seems strange that only one person seems to have been told anything. Maybe he was invited to your cosy little kit launch too
Commercial Department contacted everyone that had paid for 100 Club Membership updating them and all 100 club members from last season were also contacted.
I can't speak for the Commercial Department in terms of the person reaching out for them and them not getting in touch. So I did the next best thing and contacted him myself
The club issued a statement that 100 Club wouldn't be available next season, our Head of Commercial has been more than proactive dealing with enquiries regarding the 100 Club, and we held an out of office meeting of which last years 100 Club members were invited to so that we could sit down with them and keep them updated.
Regarding the "cosy little kit launch" - don't know what you're on about and if you're referring to the Hummel anniversary kit meeting, this was chosen at random from the emails we got.
Pat's direct number - 0161 785 5160
Thanks

I have been a season ticket holder for 30 years and a 100 club member since inception. I have attempted to find out information about what is happening to 100 club renewals for weeks. On each occasion I have telephoned the club I have been told they cannot update me. Last week I was told I would receive a call after a board meeting to update me. I didn't receive a call. I emailed the commercial department yesterday for clarification. No response. I tried to ring the commercial department today. No answer. I left a voicemail message. No reply. Frankly, the owners of the club need to take a long hard look at themselves and ask are they competent to run a business? If any other business treated its loyal customers like this they would fold pretty quickly. It does make you wonder whether they actually care.
Hi, if you email supporter.services@oldhamathletic.co.uk, I will look into this for you and clarify the situation via email.
Alternatively you can call us on 0161 785 5150, we are usually pretty fast with answering the phones.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks

so what’s the crack here?
If bad news I presume it will be the same on the car park and that’s why we haven’t had our passes yet?
Mind you, it was free for all at the last friendly, bo car park attendants on duty.
All I can say is keep checking the website etc, sorry
Wish I could say more. All I will say is wait for the facts and info instead of reading into cryptic tweets and comments (not that you are!)

On the etickeing site it looks like you can still buy tickets for 2 sections of the Joe Royle Stand (next to the Chaddy End and to the RRE side of the half way line) but not the other two sections (as they're not sold out!).
https://www.eticketing.co.uk/oafc/EDP/Season/Index/1343
However, you can still purchase seats for all parts of the North Stand for the Crewe match on 10 August.

Some people didnt like Iversen and didnt rate him, yet hes represented Denmark u21s in the summer Euros, and is now spending the season playing for a Championship club. I tend to think most Latics fans opinions on Keepers is irrelevant, especially seen as their judgement is based purely on whether a keeper comes to collect crosses or not.

I never had an NDA put in front of me so no I didn’t. Plus even if I had, my comments aren’t disclosing anything confidential. Some staff aren’t fans of Latics so would rather just stay out of it and remain professional as they work for other clubs also and publicly, I do also hence why I made sure I could put out what I’ve said by checking internally and with the right people externally. I respect and understand why previous staff prefer not to speak out, especially the footballers.
