You buy a season ticket, you are assigned a seat.  Sit in that seat and there are - literally - no issues.

Choose to sit elsewhere and the risk of issues increases.

It really is quite simple, and as is par for the course on OWTB, people seem to be putting arguments forward for the sake of it.

    Can't stress this enough

Using your logic if I'd like to have sex with a Hollywood actress who is married but her husband never has sex with her (or always has sex with someone else instead) am I then missing out and being "deprived"?

She's not my wife, she's his.

It's not their seat, it's mine. Whether I sit in it, have sex with it or otherwise.

    Jesus.

They'd only be being "deprived" if there were no other seats left wouldn't they?

If someone wanted my seat near the back and the stand was going to sell out I'd sit in my seat near the back and they'd get whichever other one I would have sat in.

Have you considered that someone who always pays on the day might be aware that "my" seat is always empty and, therefore, always sits there and that to sell a ticket for that seat would then, to use your word, "deprive" that person of my seat?

Who decides who should or shouldn't be "deprived"?

No, because they might request a seat in the middle, far back, under cover. But then we can't sell them that seat because they are all occupied by Season Ticket holders on our system.

If then those season ticket holders don't actually sit in those seats, then the person who wanted that seat, misses out.

"that to sell a ticket for that seat would then, to use your word, "deprive" that person of my seat?"

We can't sell tickets for seats that are occupied by season ticket holders on our system, so we can't "deprive" you of your seat. If someone ends up sitting there on match day because you're not sat there and you're sat elsewhere, that's on you, not us.

As someone who doesn't like to sit in the same seat every week, is the suggestion here that I shouldn't get a season ticket?

It never crossed my mind that by having a seat I never sit in amongst the thousands of other empty seats was somehow depriving someone else.

Randomly I did consider sitting in it the other week. When I got there someone was sat in it. I guess I should have kicked them out of it but as they seemed happy enough to be there I just sat somewhere else.

It’s down to what seat you have on your season card really, we do get a lot of people requesting seats in the north stand that are “under cover, on the half way line, far back” but we can’t sell them via our system because they’re occupied by season ticket holders

we usually explain to them that some season ticket holders don’t actually sit in their seats so there might be some availability on the day in the area they specified

if those season ticket holders don’t actually sit there then yes someone else is being deprived, especially elderly fans that come to the Ticket office during the week to ask. But then the argument is, is that the season ticket holder has spent a substantial amount of money etc so it shouldn’t matter if they don’t actually sit in their assigned seat or not

I’m a ST holder in the north stand and actually enjoy sitting in my seat. People have ST for seats next to me and have never sat there so can be a pain trying to get a ticket close to me on the day if I don’t get there early enough for my wife. If you buy a ST don’t see why you wouldn’t sit in your own seat?

This is the main issue, we can't sell the seats on our system as they're occupied by Season Ticket holders. It's especially annoyed when they don't actually sit in those seats, and then someone, such as yourself Adam, misses out because of this

It's just easier if people sit in their assigned seat, especially if they are decent seats, under cover, near the half way line

Why can't I renew all 5 of our tickets online, I can only add mine to the basket

Last year I could renew all the tickets online (the ones that are in my network)

Hope this is sorted soon as this is how I have to renew

Sorted - Had to readd all the accounts to my account

Glad you managed to sort it out! :)

If you ever have any issues don't hesitate to call or email us, we are usually quite responsive

Not everyone knows you can prob grab any seat when it comes to ticket numbers especially if there not regular. Sitting in the seat on your ticket is what people do at events around the world so why should it be different if your visiting boundary park. He may have been moved from a seat he plonked himself in by a season ticket holder previously so just thought ‘i’ll go where i’m told and then I don’t get moved on’

I would think the majority of season ticket holders sit in their allocated seat though. Season ticket holders pick a seat in most cases that i’m aware of as they’ve sat there for a number of years and chose that area/seat because all there mates sit there and they have been watching football together as a group for a long time. In some cases they’ve grown up together sitting in those seats seeing each other each game!

Going to football is something people do with friends, fathers with sons etc etc so to purchase a particular season ticket seat allows you to be with those people every match!

    Just another thought...

    This!!!

It's extremely unfair if people that actually want to sit in some seats for whatever reason, can't select those seats online or buy them through us if they are occupied by Season Ticket holders that don't actually sit in those seats on match day

Hi Billy, when trying to access season ticket info on the ticketing website via my phone, the link just comes up with “We’re Sorry” each time.

Something that can be looked into?

    Should be sorted now mate

You do need to log onto your online account to be able to renew though

Just been papering over the cracks (😉) this morning but think everything's sorted now... or I hope!

Ye I can see the logic in that.

Just means I have to commit a month earlier if I want the same seat, which is fine for me but I'm just one out of thousands....and thousands 🙂

Some people may prefer to pay early and get it sorted, just how it work's unfortunately. Never gonna please everyone!

To be honest Billy the incentives there are decent. Other than a reduction in ticket price I don't think there is much I would be interested in. The only incentive i use is priority for tickets to away games.

My friends are latics fans in the main with free tickets, I don't use the club coach and rarely use the club shop now i'm a bit too old for a replica shirt.

Only annoyance for me is the summer holiday is due to be paid in March as well and i was expecting/hoping season ticket renewals would be done a bit closer to the end of the season. Not the end of the world it just seems early.

    cheers

Obviously reduction in prices comes with how the club are doing financially, commercially, and in the league etc. £11 per home game for an adult is fairly decent for almost 2 hours of live entertainment, if you ask me. Obviously some higher tier clubs offer cheaper prices but they can afford to with the crowds they get, TV money, more commercial revenue, etc.

"Seats from the previous season will only be held until Wednesday 27 March"

It's not a problem for me but isn't 27 March quite a bit earlier...although the early bird goes on to Friday 26th April?

We felt a month was long enough, and fair also as then it gives everyone, including current season ticket holders, the chance to change their seats/get better seats instead of just being restricted to the seats they got this year

We'll possibly review extending the date for renewal's if enough people agree with you but for now the reaction has been mostly positive :)

It suggests to me that Scholes has revealed his budget requirements and transfer targets for next season.

AL is probably testing the water too see what sort of reaction the Scholes appointment has made to ST sales.

Instead of the usual last minute panic, If we have players in mind and are planning to get our business done early then AL will probably need to know the shortfall gap he’ll need to plug!

Whatever the reasons, I think March is far too early, especially for ST renewals.

Wasn’t it the middle of May last year?

(Just checked, it was the end of April for renewals.)

Most clubs are offering for renewals now tbf, not just us
