lmfmadridOAFC replied to lmfmadridOAFC's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
I like him a lot, I think he is an effective player in the right position. I hope we keep hold of him beyond this season, though cant see it happening. -

Who stays and who goes?
lmfmadridOAFC replied to Nom Pulastar's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
I think Furman will go anyways, like most people are saying. I think he´ll attract good League 1 clubs plus lower level championship clubs in the summer. With him being out of contract, that will be the end of that. Also Cisak won´t spend another season on the bench, if the rumours where true, should have taken 350k for him from Peterborough. -
I think the issue has not just been Dickov. Comes from the club as a whole. Dickov was there to get results, not to bleed in young talent. So naturally, he is going to try and get what he feels is better quality or more experience. The Chairman and the club as a whole needs to put emphasis on youth development. Plus TP needs to work closer with SC and the new manager to bleed in new players. Needs to be a policy of the club or we will be back to where we were on the youth development 6 months ago.

It is an exaggerated point of view! But not saying it can't be done. It works in a lot of place and a lot of bigger clubs, Barca, Real, a lot of Germany clubs also can work with the smaller ones FC United for example. Like I said in my original statement it's not the be all and end all, but I think it is feasible. On the case of failsworth, all the people I spoke to and myself were against the move, and I appreciate people saying it is not Manchester, but the M35 post code didn't sit right with me. Maybe the romance of football has gone for myself, who knows!!!! -

How could you have a club in Manchester called Oldham?most people I spoke with never wanted to go. But everyone has there opinion, that's why it's a forum -
I am becoming disillusioned with football!!! Nothing but money money!! I am not saying Simon Corney hasnt done a good job, he has. Keeping this club afloat must be a daunting task every year. However, I cant remember when the last time fans had some 'real' input into this club. No one wanted to go to Failsworth, and luckly we didnt, but how much real input did we have. Did we want to change kit for celebrating a 100 years. Or the badge for that matter!!! These are tirival things but it shows how much lack of interest club has in the fans, sometimes. Then there is the financial issue. There is no guarantee that being a fans owned club would support us for the long run ( AFC Wimbledon and even FC Barcelona have found it difficult) however a one off membership fee each year could go a way in helping the club. Also with it being fans owned it would give a level transparence to the financial situation, and gives us the opportunity to find out where the fans want the money spent. This brings us to the case of the youth system, as we were asked for our input, but is that a long term decision the club has made in keeping it? I doubt it, next season there will be another review. I would personal, rather see a fantastic youth coach get paid £40k to make a real impact on the players of the future, than see it go to 2 average football players as sigining on bonuses for a 3 month loan. I like Corney, I really do. Could Corney not run the club with the a fans owned scheme???? On this forum we are constantly complaining about the team, support, atmosphere..... being a fans owned club could help change that. Its not the (french) blue sky solution, but I for one want to make decisions and help the club I have loved all my life!!!! Rant over...... One fan, one vote

Will Furman start against Yeovil ?
lmfmadridOAFC replied to BP1960's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
I agree I think the bench is the mostly likely place to find him. Back in the 11 for Saturday. -
What is this with Scholes, don't get it. Got persuaded to continue playing less than 12 months ago. Dowie isn't it?? I'd take Grayson to be honest.

St Pauli have a link with FC United of Manchester.

can see plenty of these tactics in the changing room from Dowie!! http://performance.fourfourtwo.com/experts/iain-dowie

Dickov's gone (confirmed)
lmfmadridOAFC replied to Crusoe's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
Good luck to him, I wanted it to work but seems it is the best for both parties concerned -
I like Dickov allot, it is time now, it is unfortunate. I still think he should have had some support as soon as they sacked the backroom staff.

A few weeks ago Barry Owen informed the fans that the club are considering the current youth development system at OAFC. They said they were opening up the floor, for fans to have their say on the matter. The time line was 6 weeks. I have sent my opinion in to the club, however what is going on?? Is it a debate? Are they taking suggestions? Are they going to hold a fans meeting? I have not heard anything from the club since the posting of the video (if you have send me where to find it), I think this is terrible. Shows the attitude of the club sometimes, lacking communication skills unless they wish to receive money.

There is no doubt that Sundays game was epic! The 'magic of the cup' was alive at BP. Sat in the middle of Madrid (with a load of Scouse fans) I had a smile from ear to ear, but also saddened that I couldn't make the game. This game really needs to be the turning point. If we gave 70% of the effort we gave on Sunday in the league games, we would be a force. I honestly believe we have some of the best players in the division (Baxter, Furman, Croft, M'voto, Simpson), but we are in desperate need of some confidence. Well, sure Sunday was it!!! We all give PD a hard time because of x, y and z, but the players really need to man up now and take games to teams and control from start to finish with a passion and intensity to win. I hope this can kick start the season. If we go down I feel there is no return!!
