There doesn't seem to an effective system that we play. I can't make out what we are trying to do, no link ups that work. Looked far too slow in the first half, no fast counter attacking. Just seems 90 minutes of attrition hoping something comes off.

I think this pretty much sums up league 2!

  2. Always seemed like he couldn't be bothered - maybe he is a laid-back kind of bloke , but when you are playing football - there is usually lots of passion involved whether that's from the people watching or from getting kicked in the air on the pitch or scoring (snigger) but whichever he just didn't seem arsed... very frustrating player because with the ball at his feet he does have the talent.

  3. Wide open midfield with no width

Defenders that struggle to defend - it is ok to boot the ball into the stand you know - don't have to always try and pass it out...

Like a fantasy football team- looks good on paper but ..

But I did think benteke showed that bit of composure the others didn't...

Byrne’s come out and said that ‘neck is killing me’ presumably in reference to our hoof ball tactics

The lad was very poor tonight for me, however it doesn’t look too good for Wellens when one of the side’s best players comes out with that. Especially when it’s one he’s singled out publicly before

I’ll get behind him if he continues on as manager into next season, but I don’t think he’ll be given the opportunity given how poorly we’ve utilised some of the best players we’ve had in years. It’s hardly that damning of Wellens that an experienced manager like Hill has outdone him like that in a big game, but it was blindingly obvious which manager was able to focus his players to execute a plan in a big match

Rochdale were also very direct tonight- granted it seemed to be more of a 'planned onslaught but still lots of hoof!

  5. Today was the first time I have seen nazon actually pass the ball to a team mate! I think I would play him as an impact sub to run at tired defences - Doyle needs to play off someone who will put a bit of effort in - today he seemed to do all the chasing whilst nazon just mooched around.

6 points out of 30 3 weeks ago I was firmly behind him. I was starting to waver but yesterday he showed he finally has a plan B now he needs to stop whining and continue to show the togetherness* we demonstrated yesterday. Anything next week is a bonus but after that I want to see a run against struggling and middling opposition.

*except McLaughlin who couldn’t wait to get off the field.

I noticed McLaughlin's speedy exit too - hopefully he was just desperate for a pee! And not sulking..
