  1. Jesus Christ, Wes has been one of the better players this season. Yes, he may not have bagged goals and what not, but you need to appreciate the work he does along side Smith in that midfield, winning balls and distributing them.

He's been liberated to do more since Furman left.

Your point where you feel the need to 'tag' him along with Korey Smith proves that it then becomes less than valid! WTF has Smith who is awesome got to do with him?

  2. Was sat in the Chaddy End and I'd probably go as far as to say that it was on a par with that penalty we should have had at Tranmere last year.

The guy was practically sat on his arse and blatantly stuck his arm up...lino had a perfect view of it, baffled. How do these officials stay in a job?

Ditto-but credit Chesterfield they actually came to play us at football, not like the dross served up by Bradford and Mansfield!

The linesman looked to the referee as if to say 'you were in as good a position as I am' and the ref bottled it!

  3. you managed to stay quite about this whilst Wes and smith were forming a great partnership... Apart from tonight which their midfield won the battle... No one has complained as them two have been outstanding! one defeat and the whole 'Wes only passes sideways' comes out

If Wes is the answer it's a bloody stupid question! He has been letting the team down for bloody ages, not just tonight against a 4th division team. Some people see 100% endeavour as a good shift, but if you cannot use the ball when you win it then its wasted. And by the way I am not reacting to tonight I said ages ago when we had Wes and Furman that we would get nowhere with those 2

  4. On a more general note, on the video he describes calling the ref a "f*cking w*nker" to try and get a booking. The fact that this doesn't even get him a yellow, let alone instant red card is a pretty sad reflection of the game really.

Granted, it's a very minor point in the context of all this, but it was just something else that stood out for me.

The football league say that they are not investigating the rumour that 25 players also said this to the referee on Saturday since it would take too long to interview 3500 supporters who said exactly the same about Mr Williamson

  5. That was my take from the Chaddy. The wall was bizarre, it was only guarding against an outrageous left footed inswinger. when the shot came he had three quarters of the goal to aim at.

Totally agree Lees, I had the same view and thought that Oxley set up the wall too far left and needed another player in it on the right side (as we looked!) It was his fault I thought! But goalies always blame someone else don't they?
  6. I'm going to go slightly left-field and say:

    Grounds (LB)

    Tarky (CB)

    Lanzoni (CB)

    Kusunga (RB)

Matteo looks like a CB who can do a job at RB to me, Grounds is a very good LB who is impressing playing CB, Kusunga is another CB playing RB but he is better on the ball than Matteo, and today I think he missed him more than some others.

It may depend how Dayton is, whilst I think his substitution was forced it looked to me like he had received a bang and so he could be fit for our next game.

If Dayton is out I'd be tempted to play 3-5-2 with Mellor and Winchester on the flanks and a back 3 of Grounds, Tarky, Kusunga (L-R). Then again I'm a big advocate of 3-5-2.

I have been advocating we go 3 at the back for some while now, since we do seem to have a surplus of quality centre backs, and it would save Korey having to drop so deep to become the spare man, but if we have a totally ineffective striker it will be wasted.
  7. Well you would say that BP, you most probably watch 2 sides during a football game, unlike some on here.

Yet again disjointed picks up my posts. You seem to be unable to accept the opinions of others might be relevant or even correct.

For the whole of the first half Bradford worked it to their right back to lump it forward to 6ft 6 Hansen.

As the Coventry manager described Bradford, 'dark ages' football!

  8. That was a decent game, 1st half was really entertaining, you can see why Wells has so many goals in the 1st half they hit everything to Hanson to flick it on, even though their goal didn't come from that route it was a good finish from Wells, possibly handball in the build up. JCH what a finish, if the keeper had got in the way of that he could have ended up hurt. Thought our midfield pair were both immense today and mom could quite easily have gone to Wes. We looked the more likely to win the game as the match wore on, and Wells never had a kick in the 2nd half. A word for Petrasso, well played young man, after Tuesday I was critical of him, but he looked sharp and a danger every time he got the ball.

'Possibly' handball, bollocks it was bloody handball, yet again poor ref and a linesman who should get to specsavers!

I would hate to watch Bradford 'hoofball' every week, no midfield. Gary Jones has lost it now, age has caught up with him.

  9. The similarities between Dickov season one and Johnson season one are strong. Except Dickov had us higher up the table.

Now I think Johnson has shown an ability to turn things round from a bad run, something Dickov never really did. He's used substitutes tactically, rather than as a last ditch lump it forwards routine.

But the PR / fan love-in is much the same at this stage. The league position is worse. Johnson's in a very good place with me, but, as he's hinted himself, he's far from proved his ability.

As we all seem to agree, we deserve to be higher up the table and soon will be, the signs are there. LJ is doing OK

  10. LJ up to 60th longest serving manager now.

Of those longer serving in our division I'd imagine Davies, Ronnie and Robinson will be a little twitchy.

Reading the Gillingham boards on Sunday/Monday Peter Taylor was rubbish and needed to go now, hadn't a clue.

Reading the Shrews boards on Weds they seemed to want Turner sacked immediately, outwitted by a rookie!

Hopefully on Monday the Bratford fans will all want Parkinson out since he has taken them as far as he can!

How safe is Fergy at P'boro? One club I would love to change though would be Rotherham!
